1ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೋಬನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಇಂತೆಂದನು,Then Job answered:

2<<ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ಯವೇ ಸರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿರುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?“Yes, I know that it is so, but how can a mortal be righteous before God?

3ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟರೂ, ಆತನ ಸಾವಿರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಲಾರನು.If one wished to contend with God, he could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.

4ದೇವರ ಹೃದಯವು ವಿವೇಕವುಳ್ಳದ್ದು, ಆತನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ಪ್ರಬಲವಾದದ್ದು. ಆತನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಕಠಿಣಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಸಾರ್ಥಕನಾದದ್ದುಂಟೇ?God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has resisted Him and prospered?

5ಆತನು ಪರ್ವತಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದಂತೆ ಸರಿಸಿ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉರುಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.He moves mountains without their knowledge and overturns them in His anger.

6ಭೂಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಕದಲಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನು ನಡುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.He shakes the earth from its place, so that its foundations tremble.

7ಹುಟ್ಟಬೇಡವೆಂದು ಆತನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು ಮುದ್ರೆಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.He commands the sun not to shine; He seals off the stars.

8ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ವಿಶಾಲಪಡಿಸಿದವನು ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನೇ. ಅಲ್ಲಕಲ್ಲೋಲವಾದ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.

9ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಮಂಡಲವನ್ನೂ, ಮೃಗಶಿರವನ್ನೂ, ಕೃತ್ತಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗೃಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದವನು ಆತನೇ.He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, of the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.

10ಅಪ್ರಮೇಯ ಮಹಾಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ ಅದ್ಭುತಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.He does great things beyond searching out, and wonders without number.

11ಆಹಾ, ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಟಿಹೋದರೂ ನಾನು ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾದುಹೋದರೂ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.Were He to pass by me, I would not see Him; were He to move, I would not recognize Him.

12ಇಗೋ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆತನನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳುವವರು ಯಾರು? <ನೀನು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿ?> ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವರಾರು?If He takes away, who can stop Him? Who dares to ask Him, ‘What are You doing?’

13ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಸಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೊಲಗಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ರಾಹಾಬನ ಸಹಾಯಕರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲಾ.God does not restrain His anger; the helpers of Rahab cower beneath Him.

14ನಾನಾದರೋ ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾದಿಸಿ, ಆತನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತೂ ಅಶಕ್ತನು.How then can I answer Him or choose my arguments against Him?

15ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವೆನು.For even if I were right, I could not answer. I could only beg my Judge for mercy.

16ನಾನು ಕರೆದಾಗ ಆತನು ನನಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ, ನನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಲಾಲಿಸುವನೆಂದು ನಂಬುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.If I summoned Him and He answered me, I do not believe He would listen to my voice.

17ಆತನು ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಡಿಯುತ್ತಾ, ಸುಮ್ಮಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಒಂದರ ಮೇಲೊಂದು ಗಾಯಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ,For He would crush me with a tempest and multiply my wounds without cause.

18ಉಸಿರಾಡಗೊಡಿಸದೆ ಕಹಿಯಾದ ಪದಾರ್ಥದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.He does not let me catch my breath, but overwhelms me with bitterness.

19ನಾನು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೊರೆಹೋಗುವೆನೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರು, <ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ> ಎನ್ನುವನು. ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯು ಆಗಲಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಆತನು ನನಗೆ, <ಕಾಲ ನಿಯಾಮಕರು ಯಾರು?> ಎನ್ನುವನು.If it is a matter of strength, He is indeed mighty! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon Him?

20ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುವುದು. ನಾನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಆತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಯೆಂದು ನಿರೂಪಿಸುವನು.Even if I were righteous, my mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, it would declare me guilty.

21ನಾನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯೇ ಹೌದು; ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೇನೂ ಚಿಂತೆಯಿಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.Though I am blameless, I have no concern for myself; I despise my own life.

22ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದೇ. ಆದಕಾರಣ <ನಾನು, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನೂ, ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನೂ ಆತನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.It is all the same, and so I say, ‘He destroys both the blameless and the wicked.’

23ವಿಪತ್ತು ಆಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲು, ನಿರ್ಮಲಚಿತ್ತರು ಮನಗುಂದುವುದನ್ನು ಆತನು ನೋಡಿ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವನು.When the scourge brings sudden death, He mocks the despair of the innocent.

24ಭೂಲೋಕವು ದುಷ್ಟರ ಕೈ ಸೇರಿದೆ; ಲೋಕದ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮುಖಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಸುಕು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಆತನಲ್ಲದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಯಾರು?The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; He blindfolds its judges. If it is not He, then who is it?

25ನನ್ನ ದಿನಗಳು ಓಟಗಾರನಿಗಿಂತ ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಯಾವ ಸುಖವನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ.My days are swifter than a runner; they flee without seeing good.

26ಬೆಂಡಿನ ದೋಣಿಗಳು ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಹದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಬೇಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಎರಗುವಂತೆಯೂ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಗತಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ.They sweep by like boats of papyrus, like an eagle swooping down on its prey.

27ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಲಾಪವನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಕಳೆಗುಂದಿದ ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುವೆನೆಂದು ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ,If I were to say, ‘I will forget my complaint and change my expression and smile,’

28ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಕಟಗಳಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಭಯವುಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.I would still dread all my sufferings; I know that You will not acquit me.

29ನಾನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕಷ್ಟೆ. ನಾನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಪಡುವುದೇಕೆ?Since I am already found guilty, why should I labor in vain?

30ನಾನು ಹಿಮದಿಂದ ಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿದರೂ, ಚೌಳಿನಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳಕೊಂಡರೂ,If I should wash myself with snow and cleanse my hands with lye,

31ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಅಸಹ್ಯನಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವಿ.then You would plunge me into the pit, and even my own clothes would despise me.

32ಆತನು ನನ್ನಂಥವನಲ್ಲ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲ, ನಾನು ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾದಿಸುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ನಾವಿಬ್ಬರೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಸನದ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೂಡುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?For He is not a man like me, that I can answer Him, that we can take each other to court.

33ನಮ್ಮಿಬ್ಬರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಯಿಡುವವನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.Nor is there a mediator between us, to lay his hand upon us both.

34ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎತ್ತಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ದಂಡವನ್ನು ಆತನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಿ, ಆತನಿಂದಾಗುವ ದಿಗಿಲು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆದರಿಸದಿರಲಿ.Let Him remove His rod from me, so that His terror will no longer frighten me.

35ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾನು ಭಯಪಡದೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವೆನು; ಭಯಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲೇನೂ ಆಸ್ಪದವಿಲ್ಲ.>>Then I would speak without fear of Him. But as it is, I am on my own.
