1 ULB ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಸರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರ ರಾಜರು, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಹೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ಬತ್ತಿಸಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಸಿದನೆಂಬ ವಾರ್ತೆ ಕೇಳಲು ಅವರ ಎದೆಯೊಡೆದು ಹೋಯಿತು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಬಲಗುಂದಿ ಹೋದರು. BSB BSB: Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, their hearts melted and their spirits failed for fear of the Israelites.
2 ULB ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನಿಗೆ <<ನೀನು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಚೂರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಪುನಃ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು BSB BSB: At that time the LORD said to Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the sons of Israel once again.”
3 ULB ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಚೂರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಗುಡ್ಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. BSB BSB: So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the sons of Israel at Gibeath-haaraloth.
4 ULB ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವೇನಂದರೆ ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದ ಗಂಡಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರೆಲ್ಲರು ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಂದ ನಂತರ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತು ಹೋದರು. BSB BSB: Now this is why Joshua circumcised them: All those who came out of Egypt—all the men of war—had died on the journey in the wilderness after they had left Egypt.
5 ULB ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಗಂಡಸರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಐಗುಪ್ತವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟ ನಂತರ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಗಂಡುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Though all who had come out were circumcised, none of those born in the wilderness on the journey from Egypt had been circumcised.
6 ULB ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಟರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸಂಹಾರವಾಗುವ ತನಕ ನಲವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಅಲೆಯುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಾನು ಆ ಜನರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಹಾಲೂ ಜೇನೂ ಹರಿಯುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: For the Israelites had wandered in the wilderness forty years, until all the nation’s men of war who had come out of Egypt had died, since they did not obey the LORD. So the LORD vowed never to let them see the land He had sworn to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
7 ULB ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಮಾಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: And He raised up their sons in their place, and these were the ones Joshua circumcised. Until this time they were still uncircumcised, since they had not been circumcised along the way.
8 ULB ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಜನರು ವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವ ತನಕ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಳೆಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: And after all the nation had been circumcised, they stayed there in the camp until they were healed.
9 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನಿಗೆ, <<ನಾನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ನಿಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ನಿವಾರಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲ್ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿರುತ್ತದೆ. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” So that place has been called Gilgal to this day.
10 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ದಿನದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನ ಬೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: On the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, while the Israelites were camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, they kept the Passover.
11 ULB ಮರುದಿನದಿಂದ ಆ ದೇಶದ ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲು ತೊಡಗಿದರು. ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ಅದೇ ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸುಟ್ಟ ತೆನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಿಂದರು. BSB BSB: The day after the Passover, on that very day, they ate unleavened bread and roasted grain from the produce of the land.
12 ULB ಆ ದೇಶದ ಹುಟ್ಟುವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಊಟಮಾಡಿದ ಮರುದಿನವೇ ಮನ್ನವು ನಿಂತುಹೋಯಿತು. ಅದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಆ ವರ್ಷವೆಲ್ಲ ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನವನ್ನೇ ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: And the day after they had eaten from the produce of the land, the manna ceased. There was no more manna for the Israelites, so that year they began to eat the crops of the land of Canaan.
13 ULB ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಲು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹಿರಿದ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ತನ್ನೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಅವನ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ <<ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮವನೋ ಅಥವಾ ಶತ್ರು ಪಕ್ಷದವನೋ?>> ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು BSB BSB: Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in His hand. Joshua approached Him and asked, “Are You for us or for our enemies?”
14 ULB ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು <<ನಾನು ಅಂಥವನಲ್ಲ; ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿ; ಈಗಲೇ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿ <<ಒಡೆಯಾ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನಾದ ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ?>> ಅನ್ನಲು BSB BSB: “Neither,” He replied. “I have now come as Commander of the LORD’s army.” Then Joshua fell facedown in reverence and asked Him, “What does my Lord have to say to His servant?”
15 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿಯು <<ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಲಿನ ಕೆರಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಾದದ್ದು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು. BSB BSB: The Commander of the LORD’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.
