1 ULB ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಯಾರೂ ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.
2 ULB ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನಿಗೆ <<ನೋಡು, ನಾನು ಯೆರಿಕೋವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. BSB BSB: And the LORD said to Joshua, “Behold, I have delivered Jericho into your hand, along with its king and its mighty men of valor.
3 ULB ನಿನ್ನ ಭಟರೆಲ್ಲ ಆರು ದಿನಗಳ ವರೆಗೆ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಲಿ. BSB BSB: March around the city with all the men of war, circling the city one time. Do this for six days.
4 ULB ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಯಾಜಕರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿ. ಏಳನೆಯ ದಿನ ನೀವು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಸುತ್ತಬೇಕು; ಯಾಜಕರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಊದಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Have seven priests carry seven rams’ horns in front of the ark. Then on the seventh day, march around the city seven times, while the priests blow the horns.
5 ULB ಅವರು ದೀರ್ಘವಾಗಿ ಊದುವ ಕೊಂಬಿನ ಧ್ವನಿಯು ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿರಿ. ಆಗ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಗೋಡೆಯು ತಾನೇ ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋಗುವುದು; ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಒಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಬಹುದು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: And when there is a long blast of the ram’s horn and you hear its sound, have all the people give a mighty shout. Then the wall of the city will collapse and all your people will charge straight into the city.”
6 ULB ಆಗ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, <<ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ. ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಯಾಜಕರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿ>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: So Joshua son of Nun summoned the priests and said, “Take up the ark of the covenant and have seven priests carry seven rams’ horns in front of the ark of the LORD.”
7 ULB ಮತ್ತು ಅವನು ಜನರಿಗೆ <<ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿರಿ. ಯುದ್ಧಸನ್ನದ್ಧರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗಲಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: And he told the people, “Advance and march around the city, with the armed troops going ahead of the ark of the LORD.”
8 ULB ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಯಾಜಕರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಊದುತ್ತಾ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. BSB BSB: After Joshua had spoken to the people, seven priests carrying seven rams’ horns before the LORD advanced and blew the horns, and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
9 ULB ಯುದ್ಧ ಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾದವರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಊದುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯಾಜಕರ ಮುಂದೆ ಇದ್ದರು. ಹಿಂಬದಿಯ ದಂಡು ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಹಿಂದಿತ್ತು. ಯಾಜಕರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಊದುತ್ತಲೇ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: While the horns continued to sound, the armed troops marched ahead of the priests who blew the horns, and the rear guard followed the ark.
10 ULB ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಜನರಿಗೆ <<ನೀವು ಈಗ ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಬಾರದು; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧ್ವನಿಯು ಕೇಳಿಸದಿರಲಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಮಾತಾದರೂ ಹೊರಡದಿರಲಿ. ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿರೆಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿರಿ>> ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: But Joshua had commanded the people: “Do not give a battle cry or let your voice be heard; do not let one word come out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you are to shout!”
11 ULB ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಳೆದರು. BSB BSB: So he had the ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. And the people returned to the camp and spent the night there.
12 ULB ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಜಾವದಲ್ಲೇ ಎದ್ದನು. ಯಾಜಕರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟರು. BSB BSB: Joshua got up early the next morning, and the priests took the ark of the LORD.
13 ULB ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಯಾಜಕರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಊದುತ್ತಾ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆದರು. ಯುದ್ಧ ಸನ್ನದ್ಧರು ಅವರ ಮುಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಹಿಂಬದಿಯ ದಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಹಿಂದಿತ್ತು. ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಊದುತ್ತಲೇ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: And the seven priests carrying seven rams’ horns kept marching ahead of the ark of the LORD and blowing the horns. The armed troops went in front of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the horns kept sounding.
14 ULB ಹೀಗೆ ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದರು. BSB BSB: So on the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days.
15 ULB ಆರು ದಿನ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಏಳನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯವಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಎದ್ದು ಅದೇ ಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಸುತ್ತಿದರು. ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅದನ್ನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಸುತ್ತಿದರು. BSB BSB: Then on the seventh day, they got up at dawn and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. That was the only day they circled the city seven times.
16 ULB ಏಳನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಸುತ್ತುವಾಗ ಯಾಜಕರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಊದಲು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಜನರಿಗೆ, <<ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿರಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. BSB BSB: After the seventh time around, the priests blew the horns, and Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the LORD has given you the city!
17 ULB ಇದೂ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿತವಾದವುಗಳೇ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಿರಿ. ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯಾದ ರಾಹಾಬಳೂ ಅವಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಉಳಿಯಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಗೂಢಚಾರರನ್ನು ಅವಳು ಅಡಗಿಸಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಳಲ್ಲಾ. BSB BSB: Now the city and everything in it must be devoted to the LORD for destruction. Only Rahab the prostitute and all those with her in her house will live, because she hid the spies we sent.
18 ULB ನೀವಾದರೋ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದಿರಬೇಕು. ನೀವು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದನ್ನಾದರೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯವು ಶಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾದೀತು. BSB BSB: But keep away from the things devoted to destruction, lest you yourself be set apart for destruction. If you take any of these, you will set apart the camp of Israel for destruction and bring disaster upon it.
19 ULB ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಂಗಾರವೂ, ತಾಮ್ರ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳೂ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ಆತನ ಭಂಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರತಕ್ಕವುಗಳು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: For all the silver and gold and all the articles of bronze and iron are holy to the LORD; they must go into His treasury.”
21 ULB ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಗಂಡಸರನ್ನೂ, ಹೆಂಗಸರನ್ನೂ, ಹುಡುಗರನ್ನೂ, ಮುದುಕರನ್ನೂ, ದನ, ಕುರಿ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು. BSB BSB: With the edge of the sword they devoted to destruction everything in the city—man and woman, young and old, oxen, sheep, and donkeys.
22 ULB ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಗೂಢಚಾರರಿಗೆ <<ನೀವು ಆ ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ಅವಳನ್ನೂ ಅವಳಿಗಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು BSB BSB: Meanwhile, Joshua told the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the house of the prostitute and bring out the woman and all who are with her, just as you promised her.”
23 ULB ಆ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ಹೋಗಿ ರಾಹಾಬಳನ್ನೂ ಅವಳ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು, ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು, ಅವಳಿಗಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ, ಅವಳ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ತಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟರು. BSB BSB: So the young spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother and brothers, and all who belonged to her. They brought out her whole family and settled them outside the camp of Israel.
25 ULB ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯಾದ ರಾಹಾಬಳು ಯೆರಿಕೋ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಗೂಢಚಾರರನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅವಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವಳ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನೂ, ಅವಳಿಗಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಉಳಿಸಿದನು. ಅವಳು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. BSB BSB: And Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her father’s household and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent to spy out Jericho. So she has lived among the Israelites to this day.
26 ULB ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ <<ಈ ಯೆರಿಕೋ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತನಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಅಂಥವನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರ ಹಾಕುವಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಹಿರಿಯ ಮಗನನ್ನೂ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನಿಡುವಾಗ ಕಿರಿಯ ಮಗನನ್ನೂ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: At that time Joshua invoked this solemn oath: “Cursed before the LORD is the man who rises up and rebuilds this city, Jericho; at the cost of his firstborn he will lay its foundations; at the cost of his youngest he will set up its gates.”
27 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಬ್ಬಿತು. BSB BSB: So the LORD was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.
