3 ULB ಹೀಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಪೆಗೋರದ ಬಾಳನ ಭಕ್ತರಾದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೋಪವು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಯಿತು. BSB BSB: So Israel joined in worshiping Baal of Peor, and the anger of the LORD burned against them.
4 ULB ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, <<ನೀನು ಜನರ ಮುಖಂಡರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೋಪಾಗ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಸಬೇಕು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and execute them in broad daylight before the LORD, so that His fierce anger may turn away from Israel.”
5 ULB ಆದಕಾರಣ ಮೋಶೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಖಂಡರಿಗೆ, <<ಪೆಗೋರದ ಬಾಳ್ ನನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಂಥವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಬೇಕು>> ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: So Moses told the judges of Israel, “Each of you must kill all of his men who have joined in worshiping Baal of Peor.”
6 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮೋಶೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸರ್ವಸಮೂಹದವರ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೊಳಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. BSB BSB: Just then an Israelite man brought to his family a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and the whole congregation of Israel while they were weeping at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
7 ULB ಕೂಡಲೆ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಆರೋನನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾಜಾರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಫೀನೆಹಾಸನು ಸಭೆಯ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡನು. BSB BSB: On seeing this, Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, got up from the assembly, took a spear in his hand,
8 ULB ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನು ಮಲಗುವ ಕೋಣೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಅಂದರೆ ಆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನೂ ಒಂದೇ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತಿವಿದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು. ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದ್ದ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯು ನಿಂತು ಹೋಯಿತು. BSB BSB: followed the Israelite into the tent, and drove the spear through both of them—through the Israelite and on through the belly of the woman. So the plague against the Israelites was halted,
9 ULB ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಆ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದರು. BSB BSB: but those who died in the plague numbered 24,000.
10 ULB ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses,
11 ULB <<ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಆರೋನನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾಜಾರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಫೀನೆಹಾಸನು ನನ್ನ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ತೊಲಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: “Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned My wrath away from the Israelites; for he was zealous for My sake among them, so that I did not consume the Israelites in My zeal.
12 ULB ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸ್ನೇಹದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಸು. BSB BSB: Declare, therefore, that I am granting him My covenant of peace.
13 ULB ಅವನಿಗೂ, ಅವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿಗೂ ಯಾಜಕತ್ವವು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇರುವುದೆಂದು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೋಷಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: It will be a covenant of permanent priesthood for him and his descendants, because he was zealous for his God and made atonement for the Israelites.”
14 ULB ಆ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೊಡನೆ ಹತವಾದವನ ಆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನವನ ಹೆಸರು ಜಿಮ್ರಿ, ಅವನು ಸಿಮೆಯೋನ್ಯ ಕುಲದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋತ್ರ ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾದ ಸಾಲೂ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನು. BSB BSB: The name of the Israelite who was slain with the Midianite woman was Zimri son of Salu, the leader of a Simeonite family.
15 ULB ಹತವಾದ ಆ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಹೆಸರು ಕೊಜ್ಬೀ, ಅವಳು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋತ್ರ ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾದ ಚೂರ್ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗಳು. BSB BSB: And the name of the slain Midianite woman was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur, a tribal chief of a Midianite family.
16 ULB ತರುವಾಯ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, BSB BSB: And the LORD said to Moses,
17 ULB <<ನೀನು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರನ್ನು ವೈರಿಯೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಸಂಹರಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: “Attack the Midianites and strike them dead.
18 ULB ಅವರು ಪೆಗೋರದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯ ಮಗಳಾದ ಕೊಜ್ಬೀ ಎಂಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಹಿಂಸಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಪೆಗೋರದ ಘಟನೆಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಘೋರ ವ್ಯಾಧಿ ಉಂಟಾದಾಗ ಹತಳಾದವಳು.>> BSB BSB: For they assailed you deceitfully when they seduced you in the matter of Peor and their sister Cozbi, the daughter of the Midianite leader, the woman who was killed on the day the plague came because of Peor.”
