Proverbs 14 (ULB)

1ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಂತ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವಳು.Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands.

2ಸರಳಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವನು, ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಆತನನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡುವನು.He who walks in uprightness fears the LORD, but the one who is devious in his ways despises Him.

3ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಅವನ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಬೆತ್ತ, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವು.The proud speech of a fool brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.

4ಎತ್ತುಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ಗೋದಲಿಯು ಶುದ್ಧ, ಆದರೆ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಬೆಳೆಯ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವುದು.Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but an abundant harvest comes through the strength of the ox.

5ಸತ್ಯಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡನು, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಆಡುವನು.An honest witness does not deceive, but a dishonest witness pours forth lies.

6ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕದು, ವಿವೇಕಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ದೊರೆಯುವುದು.A mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.

7ನೀನು ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವನ ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಲಾರೆ.Stay away from a foolish man; you will gain no knowledge from his speech.

8ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ಜಾಣನ ಜ್ಞಾನ, ಮೂಢರ ಮೂರ್ಖತನ ಮೋಸಕರ.The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools deceives them.

9ಮೂರ್ಖರನ್ನು ಅವರ ದೋಷವೇ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವುದು, ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರಲ್ಲಿ (ದೇವರ) ದಯೆಯಿರುವುದು.Fools mock the making of amends, but goodwill is found among the upright.

10ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ವ್ಯಾಕುಲವನ್ನು ತಾನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ಅವನ ಆನಂದದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೇರೆಯವರು ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares in its joy.

11ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮನೆಗೆ ನಾಶನ, ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಏಳಿಗೆ.The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

12ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿ ತೋರುವ ಒಂದು ದಾರಿಯುಂಟು. ಅದು ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಗೆ ಮರಣಮಾರ್ಗವೇ.There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

13ನಗುವವನಿಗೂ ಮನೋವ್ಯಥೆಯುಂಟು, ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದ ಅಂತ್ಯವು ವ್ಯಾಕುಲವೇ.Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in sorrow.

14ಭ್ರಷ್ಟನು ಕರ್ಮಫಲವನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ತಿಂದು ದಣಿಯುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗುವನು.The backslider in heart receives the fill of his own ways, but a good man is rewarded for his ways.

15ಮೂಢನು ಯಾವ ಮಾತನ್ನಾದರೂ ನಂಬುವನು, ಜಾಣನು ತನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಗಮನಿಸುವನು.The simple man believes every word, but the prudent man watches his steps.

16ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಓರೆಯಾಗುವನು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನು ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸನು.A wise man fears and turns from evil, but a fool is careless and reckless.

17ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸುವನು, ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ದ್ವೇಷಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರನು.A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, and a devious man is hated.

18ಮೂರ್ಖರಿಗೆ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವೇ ಸ್ವತ್ತು, ಜಾಣರಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಕಿರೀಟ.The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19ಕೆಟ್ಟವರು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಬಾಗುವರು, ದುಷ್ಟರು ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಬೀಳುವರು.The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20ಬಡವನು ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯ, ಧನವಂತನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಜನ ಮಿತ್ರರು.The poor man is hated even by his neighbor, but many are those who love the rich.

21ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನು ದೋಷಿ, ದರಿದ್ರನನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು.He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who shows kindness to the poor.

22ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರು ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿದವರೇ ಸರಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸತ್ಯತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರು.Do not those who contrive evil go astray? But those who plan goodness find loving devotion and faithfulness.

23ಶ್ರಮೆಯಿಂದ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ, ಹರಟೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊರತೆ.There is profit in all labor, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

24ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಜ್ಞಾನಕಿರೀಟವೇ ಅವರ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸಂಪತ್ತು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನರ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವು ಬರೀ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವೇ.The crown of the wise is their wealth, but the effort of fools is folly.

25ಸತ್ಯಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಪ್ರಾಣರಕ್ಷಕ, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ವಂಚಕ.A truthful witness saves lives, but one who utters lies is deceitful.

26ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಕೇವಲ ನಿರ್ಭಯ, ಆತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯವಿದ್ದೇ ಇರುವುದು.He who fears the LORD is secure in confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಯ ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆ, ಮೃತ್ಯುಪಾಶದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅದು ಸಾಧನವಾಗಿದೆ.The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.

28ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ರಾಜನ ಮಹಿಮೆ, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ನಾಶ ಪ್ರಭುವಿಗೆ ಭಯ.A large population is a king’s splendor, but a lack of subjects is a prince’s ruin.

29ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತನು ಕೇವಲ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು, ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ಧ್ವಜವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತುವನು.A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man promotes folly.

30ಶಾಂತಗುಣವು ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವಾಧಾರವು, ಕ್ರೋಧವು ಎಲುಬಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಯವು.A tranquil heart is life to the body, but envy rots the bones.

31ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವವನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಹೀನೈಸುವನು, ಗತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವವನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸುವನು.Whoever oppresses the poor taunts their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors Him.

32ದುಷ್ಟನು ವಿಪತ್ತಿಗೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಹಾಳಾಗುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಮರಣಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಶ್ರಯಹೊಂದುವನು.The wicked man is thrown down by his own sin, but the righteous man has a refuge even in death.

33ವಿವೇಕಿಯ ಹೃದಯ ಜ್ಞಾನಾಶ್ರಯ, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಕಾಣದು.Wisdom rests in the heart of the discerning; even among fools she is known.

34ಪ್ರಜೆಗೆ ಧರ್ಮವು ಉನ್ನತಿ, ಅಧರ್ಮವು ಅವಮಾನ.Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

35ಜಾಣನಾದ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ಕೃಪೆ, ಮಾನಗೇಡಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ರೌದ್ರ.A king delights in a wise servant, but his anger falls on the shameful.
