The Canons of the Councils of Ancyra, Gangra, Neocæsarea, Antioch and Laodicea, which Canons were Accepted and Received by the Ecumenical Synods
Canon XXXII
It is unlawful to receive the eulogiæ of heretics, for they are rather alogiai [i.e., follies], than eulogiæ [i.e., blessings].
Notes.
Ancient Epitome of Canon XXXII.
The blessings of heretics are cursings.
To keep the Latin play upon the words the translator has used bene-dictiones and male-dictiones, but at the expense of the accuracy of translation.
