1അവർ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ പടനായകനും സദൂക്യരുംWhile Peter and John were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them,

4എന്നാൽ വചനം കേട്ടവരിൽ പലരും വിശ്വസിച്ചു; പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ എണ്ണംതന്നേ അയ്യായിരത്തോളം ആയി.But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

5പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവരുടെ പ്രമാണികളും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി;The next day the rulers, elders, and scribes assembled in Jerusalem,

6മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ ഹന്നാവും കയ്യഫാവും യോഹന്നാനും അലെക്സന്തരും മഹാപുരോഹിതവംശത്തിലുള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.along with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and many others from the high priest’s family.

7ഇവർ അവരെ നടുവിൽ നിറുത്തി: ഏതു ശക്തികൊണ്ടോ ഏതു നാമത്തിലോ നിങ്ങൾ ഇതു ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.They had Peter and John brought in and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”

10ദൈവം മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർപ്പിച്ചവനുമായി നസറായനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ തന്നേ ഇവൻ സൗഖ്യമുള്ളവനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനം ഒക്കെയും അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ.then let this be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.

11വീടുപണിയുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു കോണിന്റെ മൂലക്കല്ലായിത്തീർന്ന കല്ലു ഇവൻ തന്നേ.This Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’

12മറ്റൊരുത്തനിലും രക്ഷ ഇല്ല; നാം രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴിൽ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നല്കപ്പെട്ട വേറൊരു നാമവും ഇല്ല.Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

13അവർ പത്രൊസിന്റെയും യോഹന്നാന്റെയും ധൈര്യം കാൺകയാലും ഇവർ പഠിപ്പില്ലാത്തവരും സാമാന്യരുമായ മനുഷ്യർ എന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കയാലും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നവർ എന്നും അറിഞ്ഞു.When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they marveled and took note that these men had been with Jesus.

14സൗഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ അവരോടുകൂടെ നില്ക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കു എതിർ പറവാൻ വകയില്ലായിരുന്നു.And seeing the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in response.

15അവരോടു ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറത്തുപോകുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടു അവർ തമ്മിൽ ആലോചിച്ചു:So they ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin and then conferred together.

16ഈ മനുഷ്യരെ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? പ്രത്യക്ഷമായോരു അടയാളം അവർ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രസിദ്ധമല്ലോ; നിഷേധിപ്പാൻ നമുക്കു കഴിവില്ല.“What shall we do with these men?” they asked. “It is clear to everyone living in Jerusalem that a remarkable miracle has occurred through them, and we cannot deny it.

17എങ്കിലും അതു ജനത്തിൽ അധികം പരക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവർ യാതൊരു മനുഷ്യനോടും ഈ നാമത്തിൽ ഇനി സംസാരിക്കരുതെന്നു നാം അവരെ തർജ്ജനം ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.But to keep this message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in this name.”

18പിന്നെ അവരെ വിളിച്ചിട്ടു: യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അശേഷം സംസാരിക്കരുതു, ഉപദേശിക്കയും അരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

19അതിന്നു പത്രൊസും യോഹന്നാനും: ദൈവത്തെക്കാൾ അധികം നിങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ന്യായമോ എന്നു വിധിപ്പിൻ.But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God.

20ഞങ്ങൾക്കോ ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടും കേട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

21എന്നാൽ ഈ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യംകൊണ്ടു എല്ലാവരും ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുകയാൽ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനു ജനംനിമിത്തം വഴി ഒന്നും കാണായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവർ പിന്നെയും തർജ്ജനം ചെയ്തു അവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.After further threats they let them go. They could not find a way to punish them, because all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.

22ഈ അത്ഭുതത്താൽ സൗഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ നാല്പതിൽ അധികം വയസ്സുള്ളവനായിരുന്നു.For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.

23വിട്ടയച്ചശേഷം അവർ കൂട്ടാളികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചു.On their release, Peter and John returned to their own people and reported everything that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

24അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ നാഥനേ,When the believers heard this, they lifted up their voices to God with one accord. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “You made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them.

25“ജാതികൾ കലഹിക്കുന്നതും വംശങ്ങൾ വ്യർത്ഥമായതു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of Your servant, our father David: ‘Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?

26ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാർ അണിനിരക്കുകയും അധിപതികൾ കർത്താവിന്നു വിരോധമായും അവന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്നു വിരോധമായും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദ് മുഖാന്തരം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവനേ,The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Anointed One.’

27നീ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്ത യേശു എന്ന നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനു വിരോധമായി ഹെരോദാവും പൊന്തിയൊസ് പീലാത്തൊസും ജാതികളും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനവുമായി ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി,In fact, this is the very city where Herod and Pontius Pilate conspired with the Gentiles and the people of Israel against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed.

28സംഭവിക്കേണം എന്നു നിന്റെ കയ്യും നിന്റെ ആലോചനയും മുന്നിയമിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം.They carried out what Your hand and will had decided beforehand would happen.

29ഇപ്പോഴോ കർത്താവേ, അവരുടെ ഭീഷണികളെ നോക്കേണമേ.And now, Lord, consider their threats, and enable Your servants to speak Your word with complete boldness,

30സൗഖ്യമാക്കുവാൻ നിന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്താൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ വചനം പൂർണ്ണധൈര്യത്തോടും കൂടെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർക്കു കൃപ നല്കേണമേ.as You stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

31ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ കൂടിയിരുന്ന സ്ഥലം കുലുങ്ങി; എല്ലാവരും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ദൈവവചനം ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.After they had prayed, their meeting place was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

32വിശ്വസിച്ചവരുടെ കൂട്ടം ഏകഹൃദയവും ഏകമനസ്സും ഉള്ളവരായിരുന്നു; തനിക്കുള്ളതു ഒന്നും സ്വന്തം എന്നു ആരും പറഞ്ഞില്ല;The multitude of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they owned.

33സകലവും അവർക്കു പൊതുവായിരുന്നു. അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ മഹാശക്തിയോടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിനു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞുവന്നു; എല്ലാവർക്കും ധാരാളം കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.With great power the apostles continued to give their testimony about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And abundant grace was upon them all.

34മുട്ടുള്ളവർ ആരും അവരിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; നിലങ്ങളുടെയോ വീടുകളുടെയോ ഉടമസ്ഥന്മാരായവർ ഒക്കെയും അവയെ വിറ്റു വില കൊണ്ടുവന്നുThere were no needy ones among them, because those who owned lands or houses would sell their property, bring the proceeds from the sales,

35അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ കാൽക്കൽ വെക്കും; പിന്നെ ഓരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവന്റെ ആവശ്യംപോലെ വിഭാഗിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.and lay them at the apostles’ feet for distribution to anyone as he had need.

36പ്രബോധനപുത്രൻ എന്നു അർത്ഥമുള്ള ബർന്നബാസ് എന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ മറുപേർ വിളിച്ച കുപ്രദ്വീപുകാരനായ യോസേഫ്Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (meaning Son of Encouragement),

37എന്നൊരു ലേവ്യൻ തനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന നിലം വിറ്റു പണം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ കാൽക്കൽ വെച്ചു.sold a field he owned, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
