3അപ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ്: അനന്യാസേ, പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനോടു വ്യാജം കാണിപ്പാനും നിലത്തിന്റെ വിലയിൽ കുറെ എടുത്തുവെപ്പാനും സാത്താൻ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം കൈവശമാക്കിയതു എന്തു?Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and withhold some of the proceeds from the land?

And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? How could you conceive such a deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God!”

5ഈ വാക്കു കേട്ടിട്ടു അനന്യാസ് വീണു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു; ഇതു കേട്ടവർക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും മഹാഭയം ഉണ്ടായി.On hearing these words, Ananias fell down and died. And great fear came over all who heard what had happened.

6ബാല്യക്കാർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനെ ശീലപൊതിഞ്ഞു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു.Then the young men stepped forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him.

12അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ കയ്യാൽ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ പല അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും നടന്നു; അവർ എല്ലാവരും ഏകമനസ്സോടെ ശലോമോന്റെ മണ്ഡപത്തിൽ കൂടിവരിക പതിവായിരുന്നു.The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people, and with one accord the believers gathered together in Solomon’s Colonnade.

17പിന്നെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനും സദൂക്യരുടെ മതക്കാരായ അവന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാരൊക്കെയുംThen the high priest and all his associates, who belonged to the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They went out

18അസൂയ നിറഞ്ഞു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചു പൊതു തടവിൽ ആക്കി.and arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.

19രാത്രിയിലോ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ കാരാഗൃഹവാതിൽ തുറന്നു അവരെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു:But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out, saying,

20നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു ഈ ജീവന്റെ വചനം എല്ലാം ജനത്തോടു പ്രസ്താവിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.“Go, stand in the temple courts and tell the people the full message of this new life.”

21അവർ കേട്ടു പുലർച്ചെക്കു ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; മഹാപുരോഹിതനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും വന്നു ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തെയും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെയും എല്ലാം വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി, അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ തടവിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു.At daybreak the apostles entered the temple courts as they had been told and began to teach the people. When the high priest and his associates arrived, they convened the Sanhedrin—the full assembly of the elders of Israel—and sent to the jail for the apostles.

22ചേവകർ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ അവരെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ കാണാതെ മടങ്ങിവന്നു: കാരാഗൃഹം നല്ല സൂക്ഷ്മത്തോടെ പൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നതും കാവല്ക്കാർ വാതിൽക്കൽ നില്ക്കുന്നതും ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടു;But on arriving at the jail, the officers did not find them there. So they returned with the report:

23തുറന്നപ്പോഴോ അകത്തു ആരെയും കണ്ടില്ല എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.“We found the jail securely locked, with the guards posted at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside.”

24ഈ വാക്കു കേട്ടിട്ടു ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ പടനായകനും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഇതു എന്തായിത്തീരും എന്നു അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു.When the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests heard this account, they were perplexed as to what was happening.

25അപ്പോൾ ഒരുത്തൻ വന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ തടവിൽ ആക്കിയ പുരുഷന്മാർ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു ജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.Then someone came in and announced, “Look, the men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people!”

26പടനായകൻ ചേവകരുമായി ചെന്നു, ജനം കല്ലെറിയും എന്നു ഭയപ്പെടുകയാൽ ബലാൽക്കാരം ചെയ്യാതെ അവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.At that point, the captain went with the officers and brought the apostles—but not by force, for fear the people would stone them.

27അങ്ങനെ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിന്മുമ്പാകെ നിറുത്തി; മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ അവരോടു:They brought them in and made them stand before the Sanhedrin, where the high priest interrogated them.

28ഈ നാമത്തിൽ ഉപദേശിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു അമർച്ചയായി കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ; നിങ്ങളോ യെരൂശലേമിനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉപദേശംകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ രക്തം ഞങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ വരുത്തുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.“We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us responsible for this man’s blood.”

29അതിന്നു പത്രൊസും ശേഷം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും: മനുഷ്യരെക്കാൾ ദൈവത്തെ അനുസരിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.But Peter and the other apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men.

30നിങ്ങൾ മരത്തിൽ തൂക്കിക്കൊന്ന യേശുവിനെ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവം ഉയിർപ്പിച്ചു;The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had killed by hanging Him on a tree.

31യിസ്രായേലിന്നു മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും നല്കുവാൻ ദൈവം അവനെ പ്രഭുവായും രക്ഷിതാവായും തന്റെ വലങ്കയ്യാൽ ഉയർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior, in order to grant repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

32ഈ വസ്തുതെക്കു ഞങ്ങളും ദൈവം തന്നെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നല്കിയ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവും സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

33ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവർ കോപപരവശരായി അവരെ ഒടുക്കിക്കളവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.When the Council members heard this, they were enraged, and they resolved to put the apostles to death.

34അപ്പോൾ സർവ്വ ജനത്തിനും ബഹുമാനമുള്ള ധർമ്മോപദേഷ്ടാവായ ഗമാലീയേൽ എന്നൊരു പരീശൻ ന്യായധിപസംഘത്തിൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റു, അവരെ കുറെ നേരം പുറത്താക്കുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a short time.

He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing.

37അവന്റെ ശേഷം ഗലീലക്കാരനായ യൂദാ ചാർത്തലിന്റെ കാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു ജനത്തെ തന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേരുവാൻ വശീകരിച്ചു; അവനും നശിച്ചു, അവനെ അനുസരിച്ചവർ ഒക്കെയും ചിതറിപ്പോയി.After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and drew away people after him. He too perished, and all his followers were scattered.

38ആകയാൽ ഈ മനുഷ്യരെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; ഈ ആലോചനയോ പ്രവൃത്തിയോ മാനുഷം എന്നു വരികിൽ അതു നശിച്ചുപോകും;So in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone. Let them go! For if their purpose or endeavor is of human origin, it will fail.

39ദൈവികം എങ്കിലോ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അതു നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തോടു പോരാടുന്നു എന്നു വരരുതല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God.”

40അവർ അവനെ അനുസരിച്ചു: അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരെ വരുത്തി അടിപ്പിച്ചു, ഇനി യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സംസാരിക്കരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു അവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.At this, they yielded to Gamaliel. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.

41തിരുനാമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി അപമാനം സഹിപ്പാൻ യോഗ്യരായി എണ്ണപ്പെടുകയാൽ അവർ സന്തോഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി.The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

42പിന്നെ അവർ ദിനംപ്രതി ദൈവാലയത്തിലും വീടുതോറും വിടാതെ ഉപദേശിക്കയും യേശുവിനെ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു സുവിശേഷിക്കയും ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.Every day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.
