On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

4ചിതറിപ്പോയവർ വചനം സുവിശേഷിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു അവിടവിടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.

5ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ശമര്യപട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു അവരോടു ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them.

6ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ചെയ്ത അടയാളങ്ങളെ പുരുഷാരങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കയും കാൺകയും ചെയ്കയാൽ അവൻ പറയുന്നതു ഏകമനസ്സോടെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.The crowds all paid close attention to Philip’s message and to the signs they saw him perform.

7അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കൾ ബാധിച്ച പലരിൽനിന്നും അവ ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അനേകം പക്ഷവാതക്കാരും മുടന്തരും സൗഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു.With loud shrieks, unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, and many of the paralyzed and lame were healed.

8അങ്ങനെ ആ പട്ടണത്തിൽ വളരെ സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ടായി.So there was great joy in that city.

9എന്നാൽ ശിമോൻ എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു പുരുഷൻ ആ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ആഭിചാരം ചെയ്തു, താൻ മഹാൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ശമര്യജാതിയെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചുപോന്നു.Prior to that time, a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and astounded the people of Samaria. He claimed to be someone great,

10ഇവൻ മഹതി എന്ന ദൈവശക്തി ആകുന്നു എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു ആബാലവൃദ്ധം എല്ലാവരും അവനെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുവന്നു.and all the people, from the least to the greatest, heeded his words and said, “This man is the divine power called the Great Power.”

11ഇവൻ ആഭിചാരംകൊണ്ടു ഏറിയ കാലം അവരെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കയാൽ അത്രേ അവർ അവനെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചതു.They paid close attention to him because he had astounded them for a long time with his sorcery.

14അനന്തരം യെരൂശലേമിലുള്ള അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ, ശമര്യർ ദൈവവചനം കൈക്കൊണ്ടു എന്നു കേട്ടു പത്രൊസിനെയും യോഹന്നാനെയും അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.

15അവർ ചെന്നു, അവർക്കു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർക്കായി പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.On their arrival, they prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit.

17അവർ അവരുടെമേൽ കൈ വെച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർക്കു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിച്ചു.Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

18അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ കൈ വെച്ചതിനാൽ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിച്ചതു ശിമോൻ കണ്ടാറെ അവർക്കു ദ്രവ്യം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു:When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money.

19ഞാൻ ഒരുത്തന്റെ മേൽ കൈ വെച്ചാൽ അവന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഈ അധികാരം എനിക്കും തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.“Give me this power as well,” he said, “so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

21നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം ദൈവ സന്നിധിയിൽ നേരുള്ളതല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ നിനക്കു പങ്കും ഓഹരിയുമില്ല.You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God.

22നീ ഈ വഷളത്വം വിട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു കർത്താവിനോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്ക; പക്ഷെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നിരൂപണം ക്ഷമിച്ചുകിട്ടുമായിരിക്കും.Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will forgive you for the intent of your heart.

23നീ കൈപ്പുള്ള പകയിലും അനീതിയുടെ ബന്ധനത്തിലും അകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and captive to iniquity.”

24അതിന്നു ശിമോൻ: നിങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞതു ഒന്നും എനിക്കു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ കർത്താവിനോടു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പിൻ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me, so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”

25അവർ കർത്താവിന്റെ വചനം സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു പ്രസംഗിച്ചശേഷം ശമര്യക്കാരുടെ അനേക ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽ സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.And after Peter and John had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many of the Samaritan villages.

26അനന്തരം കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടു: നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു തെക്കോട്ടു യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നു ഗസെക്കുള്ള നിർജ്ജനമായ വഴിയിലേക്കു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go south to the desert road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

33അവന്റെ താഴ്ചയിൽ അവന്നു ന്യായം കിട്ടാതെ പോയി; അവന്റെ തലമുറയെ ആർ വിവരിക്കും? ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു അവന്റെ ജീവനെ എടുത്തുകളയുന്നുവല്ലോ”In His humiliation He was deprived of justice. Who can recount His descendants? For His life was removed from the earth.”

34ഷണ്ഡൻ ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടു: ഇതു പ്രവാചകൻ ആരെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നു? തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചോ മറ്റൊരുത്തനെക്കുറിച്ചോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.“Tell me,” said the eunuch, “who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”
