1ഞാൻ സാക്ഷാൽ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും എന്റെ പിതാവു തോട്ടക്കാരനും ആകുന്നു.“I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard.

2എന്നിൽ കായ്ക്കാത്ത കൊമ്പു ഒക്കെയും അവൻ നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു; കായ്ക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും അധികം ഫലം കായ്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ചെത്തി വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നു.He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful.

3ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ച വചനംനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോൾ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരാകുന്നു.You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

4എന്നിൽ വസിപ്പിൻ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളിലും വസിക്കും; കൊമ്പിന്നു മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയിൽ വസിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ സ്വയമായി കായ്പാൻ കഴിയാത്തതുപോലെ എന്നിൽ വസിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴികയില്ല.Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

5ഞാൻ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും നിങ്ങൾ കൊമ്പുകളും ആകുന്നു; ഒരുത്തൻ എന്നിലും ഞാൻ അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ വളരെ ഫലം കായ്ക്കും; എന്നെ പിരിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാൻ കഴികയില്ല.I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.

6എന്നിൽ വസിക്കാത്തവനെ ഒരു കൊമ്പുപോലെ പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു; ആ വക ചേർത്തു തീയിൽ ഇടുന്നു; അതു വെന്തുപോകും.If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.

7നിങ്ങൾ എന്നിലും എന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളിലും വസിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെങ്കിലും അപേക്ഷിപ്പിൻ; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടും.If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

8നിങ്ങൾ വളരെ ഫലം കായ്ക്കുന്നതിനാൽ എന്റെ പിതാവു മഹത്വപ്പെടുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ആകും.This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.

9പിതാവു എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാനും നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിൽ വസിപ്പിൻ.As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love.

10ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ കല്പനകൾ പ്രമാണിച്ചു അവന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ കല്പനകൾ പ്രമാണിച്ചാൽ എന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിൽ വസിക്കും.If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

11എന്റെ സന്തോഷം നിങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തോഷം പൂർണ്ണമാകുവാനും ഞാൻ ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.

12ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നാകുന്നു എന്റെ കല്പന.This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

13സ്നേഹിതന്മാർക്കുവേണ്ടി ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതിലും അധികമുള്ള സ്നേഹം ആർക്കും ഇല്ല.Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

14ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർ തന്നേYou are My friends if you do what I command you.

15യജമാനൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു ദാസൻ അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ദാസന്മാർ എന്നു ഇനി പറയുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു കേട്ടതു എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.

16നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു എന്നല്ല, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു, നിങ്ങൾ പോയി ഫലം കായ്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഫലം നിലനിൽക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങളെ ആക്കിവെച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പിതാവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരുവാനായിട്ടു തന്നേ.You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

17നിങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സ്നേഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു.This is My command to you: Love one another.

18ലോകം നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെ എന്നെ പകെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിവിൻ.If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.

19നിങ്ങൾ ലോകക്കാർ ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ലോകം തനിക്കു സ്വന്തമായതിനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ലോകക്കാരായിരിക്കാതെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ലോകത്തിൽ നിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു ലോകം നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നു.If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.

20ദാസൻ യജമാനനെക്കാൾ വലിയവനല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഓർപ്പിൻ; അവർ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളെയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കും; എന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടേതും പ്രമാണിക്കും.Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well.

21എങ്കിലും എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ അവർ അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ നാമം നിമിത്തം ഇതു ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യും.But they will treat you like this because of My name, since they do not know the One who sent Me.

22ഞാൻ വന്നു അവരോടു സംസാരിക്കാതിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവർക്കു പാപം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ അവരുടെ പാപത്തിന്നു ഒഴികഴിവില്ല.If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.

23എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയും പകെക്കുന്നു.Whoever hates Me hates My Father as well.

24മറ്റാരും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലാത്ത പ്രവൃത്തികളെ ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചെയ്തിരുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ അവർക്കു പാപം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ അവർ എന്നെയും എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയും കാണ്കയും പകെക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father.

25“അവർ വെറുതെ എന്നെ പകെച്ചു” എന്നു അവരുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated Me without reason.’

26ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയപ്പാനുള്ള കാര്യസ്ഥനായി പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്ന സത്യാത്മാവു വരുമ്പോൾ അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയും.When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me.

27നിങ്ങളും ആദിമുതൽ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കകൊണ്ടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവിൻ.And you also must testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
