7രോഗി അവനോടു: യജമാനനേ, വെള്ളം കലങ്ങുമ്പോൾ എന്നെ കുളത്തിൽ ആക്കുവാൻ എനിക്കു ആരും ഇല്ല; ഞാൻ തന്നേ ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ഇറങ്ങുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am on my way, someone else goes in before me.”

8യേശു അവനോടു: എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.Then Jesus told him, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.”

9ഉടനെ ആ മനുഷ്യൻ സൗഖ്യമായി കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടന്നു.Immediately the man was made well, and he picked up his mat and began to walk. Now this happened on the Sabbath day,

10എന്നാൽ അന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് ആയിരുന്നു. ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ സൗഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവനോടു: ഇന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; കിടക്ക എടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “This is the Sabbath! It is unlawful for you to carry your mat.”

11അവൻ അവരോടു: എന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കിയവൻ: കിടക്ക എടുത്ത നടക്ക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.But he answered, “The man who made me well told me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’”

12അവർ അവനോടു: കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ മനുഷ്യൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.“Who is this man who told you to pick it up and walk?” they asked.

13എന്നാൽ അവിടെ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയാൽ യേശു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ആരെന്നു സൗഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.But the man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away while the crowd was there.

14അനന്തരം യേശു അവനെ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽവെച്ചു കണ്ടു അവനോടു: നോക്കു, നിനക്കു സൗഖ്യമായല്ലോ; അധികം തിന്മയായതു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ ഇനി പാപം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.Afterward, Jesus found the man at the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you.”

15ആ മനുഷ്യൻ പോയി തന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കിയതു യേശു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.And the man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

16യേശു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അതു ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു.Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews began to persecute Him.

17യേശു അവരോടു: എന്റെ പിതാവു ഇന്നുവരെയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.But Jesus answered them, “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.”

18അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ശബ്ബത്തിനെ ലംഘിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവം സ്വന്തപിതാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്നെത്താൻ ദൈവത്തോടു സമമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടും യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അധികമായി ശ്രമിച്ചു പോന്നു.Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

19ആകയാൽ യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: പിതാവു ചെയ്തു കാണുന്നതു അല്ലാതെ പുത്രന്നു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാൻ കഴികയില്ല; അവൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എല്ലാം പുത്രനും അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു.So Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does.

20പിതാവു പുത്രനെ സ്നേഹിക്കയും താൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുമാറു ഇവയിൽ വലിയ പ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.The Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. And to your amazement, He will show Him even greater works than these.

21പിതാവു മരിച്ചവരെ ഉണർത്തി ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനും താൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവരെ ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom He wishes.

22എല്ലാവരും പിതാവിനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പിതാവു ആരെയും ന്യായം വിധിക്കാതെ ന്യായവിധി എല്ലാം പുത്രന്നുകൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.Furthermore, the Father judges no one, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,

23പുത്രനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കാത്തവൻ അവനെ അയച്ച പിതാവിനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നില്ല.so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

24ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ ന്യായവിധിയിൽ ആകാതെ മരണത്തിൽനിന്നു ജീവങ്കലേക്കു കടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.

25ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: മരിച്ചവർ ദൈവപുത്രന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കയും കേൾക്കുന്നവർ ജീവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാഴികവരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോൾ വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു.Truly, truly, I tell you, the hour is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

26പിതാവിന്നു തന്നിൽതന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളതുപോലെ അവൻ പുത്രന്നും തന്നിൽതന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളവൻ ആകുമാറു വരം നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.For as the Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted the Son to have life in Himself.

27അവൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ആകയാൽ ന്യായവിധി നടത്തുവാൻ അവന്നു അധികാരവും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.And He has given Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.

28ഇതിങ്കൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടരുതു; കല്ലറകളിൽ ഉള്ളവർ എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു,Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice

29നന്മ ചെയ്തവർ ജീവന്നായും തിന്മ ചെയ്തവർ ന്യായവിധിക്കായും പുനരുത്ഥാനം ചെയ്വാനുള്ള നാഴിക വരുന്നു.and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

30എനിക്കു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം അല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്വാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ വിധി നീതിയുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു.I can do nothing by Myself; I judge only as I hear. And My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

31ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞാൽ എന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യമല്ല.If I testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid.

32എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ ആകുന്നു; അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യം എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.There is another who testifies about Me, and I know that His testimony about Me is valid.

33നിങ്ങൾ യോഹാന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു; അവൻ സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.

34എനിക്കോ മനുഷ്യന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യംകൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ല: നിങ്ങൾ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനത്രേ ഇതു പറയുന്നതു.Even though I do not accept human testimony, I say these things so that you may be saved.

35അവൻ ജ്വലിച്ചു പ്രകാശിക്കുന്ന വിളക്കു ആയിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അല്പസമയത്തേക്കു അവന്റെ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ ഉല്ലസിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you were willing for a season to bask in his light.

36എനിക്കോ യോഹന്നാന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിലും വലിയ സാക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ടു; പിതാവു എനിക്കു അനുഷ്ഠിപ്പാൻ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ തന്നേ, പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു.But I have testimony more substantial than that of John. For the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish—the very works I am doing—testify about Me that the Father has sent Me.

37എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവുതാനും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഒരുനാളും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല, അവന്റെ രൂപം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല;And the Father who sent Me has Himself testified about Me. You have never heard His voice nor seen His form,

38അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ വസിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവൻ അയച്ചവനെ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.nor does His word abide in you, because you do not believe the One He sent.

39നിങ്ങൾ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു; അവയിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,

40എങ്കിലും ജീവൻ പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.yet you refuse to come to Me to have life.

41ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരോടു ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങുന്നില്ല.I do not accept glory from men,

42എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉള്ളിൽ ദൈവസ്നേഹം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.but I know you, that you do not have the love of God within you.

43ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ല; മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ സ്വന്തനാമത്തിൽ വന്നാൽ അവനെ നിങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളും.I have come in My Father’s name, and you have not received Me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will receive him.

44തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടു ഏകദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നുള്ള ബഹുമാനം അന്വേഷിക്കാത്ത നിങ്ങൾക്കു എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിപ്പാൻ കഴിയും?How can you believe if you accept glory from one another, yet do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

45ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തും എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നരുതു. നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നവൻ ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യാശ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മോശെ തന്നേ.Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, in whom you have put your hope.
