1അനന്തരം യേശു തിബെര്യാസ് എന്ന ഗലീലക്കടലിന്റെ അക്കരെക്കു പോയി.After this, Jesus crossed to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias).

5യേശു വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരം തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടു: ഇവർക്കു തിന്നുവാൻ നാം എവിടെ നിന്നു അപ്പം വാങ്ങും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.When Jesus looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?”

9ഇവിടെ ഒരു ബാലകൻ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പക്കൽ അഞ്ചു യവത്തപ്പവും രണ്ടു മീനും ഉണ്ടു; എങ്കിലും ഇത്രപേർക്കു അതു എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.“Here is a boy with five barley loaves and two small fish. But what difference will these make among so many?”

10ആളുകളെ ഇരുത്തുവിൻ എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു. ആ സ്ഥലത്തു വളരെ പുല്ലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അയ്യായിരത്തോളം പുരുഷന്മാർ ഇരുന്നു.“Have the people sit down,” Jesus said. Now there was plenty of grass in that place, so the men sat down, about five thousand of them.

11പിന്നെ യേശു അപ്പം എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി ഇരുന്നവർക്കു പങ്കിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു; അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മീനും വേണ്ടുന്നേടത്തോളം കൊടുത്തു.Then Jesus took the loaves and the fish, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted.

12അവർക്കു തൃപ്തിയായശേഷം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം ഒന്നും നഷ്ടമാക്കാതെ ശേഖരിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.And when everyone was full, He said to His disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over, so that nothing will be wasted.”

13അഞ്ചു യവത്തപ്പത്തിൽ തിന്നു ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം അവർ ശേഖരിച്ചു പന്ത്രണ്ടു കൊട്ട നിറച്ചെടുത്തു.So they collected them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

14അവൻ ചെയ്ത അടയാളം ആളുകൾ കണ്ടിട്ടു: ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വരുവാനുള്ള പ്രവാചകൻ ഇവൻ ആകുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.When the people saw the sign that Jesus had performed, they began to say, “Truly this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

16സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കടല്പുറത്തേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിWhen evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,

17പടകുകയറി കടലക്കരെ കഫർന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി; ഇരുട്ടായശേഷവും യേശു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരുന്നില്ല.got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not yet gone out to them.

18കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു അടിക്കയാൽ കടൽ കോപിച്ചു.A strong wind was blowing, and the sea grew agitated.

19അവർ നാലു അഞ്ചു നാഴിക ദൂരത്തോളം വലിച്ചശേഷം യേശു കടലിന്മേൽ നടന്നു പടകിനോടു സമീപിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു പേടിച്ചു.When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the sea—and they were terrified.

20അവൻ അവരോടു: ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു; പേടിക്കേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.But Jesus spoke up: “It is I; do not be afraid.”

21അവർ അവനെ പടകിൽ കയറ്റുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചു; ഉടനെ പടകു അവർ പോകുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിപ്പോയി.Then they were willing to take Him into the boat, and at once the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

22പിറ്റെന്നാൾ കടൽക്കരെ നിന്ന പുരുഷാരം ഒരു പടകല്ലാതെ അവിടെ വേറെ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നും യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പടകിൽ കയറാതെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ മാത്രം പോയിരുന്നു എന്നും ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.The next day, the crowd that had remained on the other side of the sea realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded it with His disciples, but they had gone away alone.

23എന്നാൽ കർത്താവു വാഴ്ത്തീട്ടു അവർ അപ്പം തിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിന്നരികെ തിബെര്യാസിൽനിന്നു ചെറുപടകുകൾ എത്തിയിരുന്നു.However, some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

24യേശു അവിടെ ഇല്ല ശിഷ്യന്മാരും ഇല്ല എന്നു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ തങ്ങളും പടകു കയറി യേശുവിനെ തിരഞ്ഞു കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ എത്തി.So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor His disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum to look for Him.

25കടലക്കരെ അവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയപ്പോൾ: റബ്ബീ, നീ എപ്പോൾ ഇവിടെ വന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they asked Him, “Rabbi, when did You get here?”

27നശിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല, നിത്യജീവങ്കലേക്കു നിലനില്ക്കുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ പ്രവർത്തിപ്പിൻ; അതു മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരും. അവനെ പിതാവായ ദൈവം മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.”

28അവർ അവനോടു: ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തികളെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?”

29യേശു അവരോടു: ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തി അവൻ അയച്ചവനിൽ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതത്രേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”

30അവർ അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടു നിന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്തു അടയാളം ചെയ്യുന്നു? എന്തു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു?So they asked Him, “What sign then will You perform, so that we may see it and believe You? What will You do?

31നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മന്നാ തിന്നു; അവർക്കു തിന്നുവാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

32യേശു അവരോടു: ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള അപ്പം മോശെയല്ല നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നതു, എന്റെ പിതാവത്രേ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള സാക്ഷാൽ അപ്പം നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരുന്നതു.Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

33ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അപ്പമോ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു ലോകത്തിന്നു ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34അവർ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, ഈ അപ്പം എപ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.“Sir,” they said, “give us this bread at all times.”

35യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവന്നു വിശക്കയില്ല; എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഒരുനാളും ദാഹിക്കയുമില്ല.Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.

36എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കണ്ടിട്ടും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.But as I stated, you have seen Me and still you do not believe.

37പിതാവു എനിക്കു തരുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും; എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവനെ ഞാൻ ഒരുനാളും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ല.Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away.

38ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്വാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.

39അവൻ എനിക്കു തന്നതിൽ ഒന്നും ഞാൻ കളയാതെ എല്ലാം ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണം എന്നാകുന്നു എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം.And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day.

40പുത്രനെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടാകേണമെന്നാകുന്നു എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം; ഞാൻ അവനെ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

41ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതിനാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പിറുപിറുത്തു:At this, the Jews began to grumble about Jesus because He had said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”

42ഇവൻ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു അല്ലയോ? അവന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; പിന്നെ ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

43യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ പിറുപിറുക്കേണ്ടാ;“Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied.

44എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവു ആകർഷിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ ആർക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ കഴികയില്ല; ഞാൻ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ അവനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

45എല്ലാവരും ദൈവത്താൽ ഉപദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ ആകും എന്നു പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു. പിതാവിനോടു കേട്ടുപഠിച്ചവൻ എല്ലാം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും.It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me—

46പിതാവിനെ ആരെങ്കിലും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു വന്നവൻ മാത്രമേ പിതാവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള.not that anyone has seen the Father except the One who is from God; only He has seen the Father.

47ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു.Truly, truly, I tell you, he who believes has eternal life.

48ഞാൻ ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.I am the bread of life.

49നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മന്നാ തിന്നിട്ടും മരിച്ചുവല്ലോ.Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.

50ഇതോ തിന്നുന്നവൻ മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുന്ന അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die.

51സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിയ ജീവനുള്ള അപ്പം ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും; ഞാൻ കൊടുപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന അപ്പമോ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്ന എന്റെ മാംസം ആകുന്നു.I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh.”

52ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ: നമുക്കു തന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നേണ്ടതിന്നു തരുവാൻ ഇവന്നു എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തമ്മിൽ വാദിച്ചു.At this, the Jews began to argue among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”

53യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നാതെയും അവന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉള്ളിൽ ജീവൻ ഇല്ല.So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you.

54എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാൻ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ അവനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

55എന്റെ മാംസം സാക്ഷാൽ ഭക്ഷണവും എന്റെ രക്തം സാക്ഷാൽ പാനീയവും ആകുന്നു.For My flesh is real food, and My blood is real drink.

56എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ എന്നിലും ഞാൻ അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു.Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.

57ജീവനുള്ള പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടു ഞാൻ പിതാവിൻമൂലം ജീവിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെ തിന്നുന്നവൻ എൻമൂലം ജീവിക്കും.Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

58സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം ഇതു ആകുന്നു; പിതാക്കന്മാർ തിന്നുകയും മരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അല്ല; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവൻ എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും.This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your fathers, who ate the manna and died, the one who eats this bread will live forever.”

59അവൻ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ പള്ളിയിൽവെച്ചു ഇതു പറഞ്ഞു.Jesus said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

60അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ പലരും അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു: ഇതു കഠിനവാക്കു, ഇതു ആർക്കു കേൾപ്പാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.On hearing it, many of His disciples said, “This is a difficult teaching. Who can accept it?”

61ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അതിനെച്ചൊല്ലി പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു യേശു തന്നിൽ തന്നേ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു: ഇതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഇടർച്ച ആകുന്നുവോ?Aware that His disciples were grumbling about this teaching, Jesus asked them, “Does this offend you?

62മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ മുമ്പെ ഇരുന്നേടത്തേക്കു കയറിപ്പോകുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടാലോ?Then what will happen if you see the Son of Man ascend to where He was before?

63ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ആത്മാവു ആകുന്നു; മാംസം ഒന്നിന്നും ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ച വചനങ്ങൾ ആത്മാവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു.The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

64എങ്കിലും വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. — വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവർ ഇന്നവർ എന്നും തന്നെ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ ഇന്നവൻ എന്നും യേശു ആദിമുതൽ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു —However, there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray Him.)

65ഇതു ഹേതുവായിട്ടത്രേ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു: പിതാവു കൃപ നല്കീട്ടല്ലാതെ ആർക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.Then Jesus said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has granted it to him.”

66അന്നുമുതൽ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ പലരും പിൻവാങ്ങിപ്പോയി, പിന്നെ അവനോടുകൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചില്ല.From that time on many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with Him.

67ആകയാൽ യേശു പന്തിരുവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾക്കും പൊയ്ക്കൊൾവാൻ മനസ്സുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.So Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?”
