1 ULB ദൈവം മോശെയ്ക്കും തന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനും വേണ്ടി ചെയ്ത എല്ലാകാര്യങ്ങളും യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതും മിദ്യാനിലെ പുരോഹിതനും മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായിയപ്പനുമായ യിത്രോ കേട്ടു. BSB BSB: Now Moses’ father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, heard about all that God had done for Moses and His people Israel, and how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.

BSB BSB: Moses’ father-in-law Jethro, along with Moses’ wife and sons, came to him in the desert, where he was encamped at the mountain of God.
6 ULB നിന്റെ അമ്മായിയപ്പൻ യിത്രോ എന്ന ഞാനും നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയും രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവൻ മോശെയോട് പറയിച്ചു. BSB BSB: He sent word to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons.”
7 ULB മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായിയപ്പനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ പുറത്തേക്ക് ചെന്നു; അവനെ വണങ്ങി ചുംബിച്ചു; അവർ തമ്മിൽ കുശലപ്രശ്നം ചെയ്ത് കൂടാരത്തിൽ വന്നു. BSB BSB: So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law and bowed down and kissed him. They greeted each other and went into the tent.
8 ULB മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായിയപ്പനോട് യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന് വേണ്ടി ഫറവോനോടും ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരോടും ചെയ്തതും വഴിയിൽ അവർക്കു നേരിട്ട പ്രയാസവും യഹോവ അവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചതും വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: Then Moses recounted to his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardships they had encountered along the way, and how the LORD had delivered them.
9 ULB യഹോവ ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്ന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിടുവിച്ചതിനാലും അവർക്ക് ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ നന്മകൾ നിമിത്തവും യിത്രോ സന്തോഷിച്ചു. BSB BSB: And Jethro rejoiced over all the good things the LORD had done for Israel, whom He had rescued from the hand of the Egyptians.
10 ULB യിത്രോ പറഞ്ഞത്:“നിങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും ഫറവോന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിച്ച് അവരുടെ കൈക്കീഴിൽനിന്ന് ജനത്തെ വിടുവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ. BSB BSB: Jethro declared, “Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from the hand of the Egyptians.
11 ULB യഹോവ സകലദേവന്മാരിലും വലിയവൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നു.കാരണം ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാർ അവരോടു അഹങ്കാരപൂർവ്വം പെരുമാറിയപ്പോൾ അവിടുന്ന് തന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിടുവിച്ചു.. BSB BSB: Now I know that the LORD is greater than all other gods, for He did this when they treated Israel with arrogance.”
12 ULB മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായിയപ്പനായ യിത്രോ ദൈവത്തിന് ഹോമയാഗവും ഹനനയാഗവും കഴിച്ചു; അഹരോനും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരെല്ലാവരും വന്ന് മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായിയപ്പനോടുകൂടെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു. BSB BSB: Then Moses’ father-in-law Jethro brought a burnt offering and sacrifices to God, and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses’ father-in-law in the presence of God.
13 ULB പിറ്റേദിവസം മോശെ ജനത്തിന് ന്യായം വിധിക്കുവാൻ ഇരുന്നു; ജനം രാവിലെ തുടങ്ങി വൈകുന്നേരം വരെ മോശെയുടെ ചുറ്റും നിന്നു. BSB BSB: The next day Moses took his seat to judge the people, and they stood around him from morning until evening.
14 ULB അവൻ ജനത്തിനു വേണ്ടി ചെയ്യുന്നതെല്ലാം മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പൻ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: “നീ ജനത്തിന് വേണ്ടി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്താണ്? നീ ഏകനായി വിസ്തരിക്കുവാൻ ഇരിക്കുകയും ജനങ്ങൾ രാവിലെ തുടങ്ങി വൈകുന്നേരം വരെ നിന്റെ ചുറ്റും നില്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് എന്ത് എന്ന് അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു. BSB BSB: When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he asked, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit alone as judge, with all the people standing around you from morning till evening?”

BSB BSB: “Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me to judge between one man and another, and I make known to them the statutes and laws of God.”
17 ULB അതിന് മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായിയപ്പൻ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: BSB BSB: But Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good.
18 ULB “നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യം നന്നല്ല; നീയും നിന്നോടുകൂടിയുള്ള ഈ ജനവും ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോകും; ഈ കാര്യം നിനക്ക് അതിഭാരമാകുന്നു; ഏകനായി അത് നിവർത്തിക്കുവാൻ നിനക്ക് കഴിയുന്നതല്ല. BSB BSB: Surely you and these people with you will wear yourselves out, because the task is too heavy for you. You cannot handle it alone.
19 ULB ആകയാൽ എന്റെ വാക്ക് കേൾക്കുക; ഞാൻ ഒരാലോചന പറഞ്ഞുതരാം. ദൈവം നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും; നീ ജനത്തിന് വേണ്ടി ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുക; നീ കാര്യങ്ങളെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലുക. BSB BSB: Now listen to me; I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their causes to Him.
20 ULB അവർക്ക് കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണങ്ങളും ഉപദേശിക്കുകയും നടക്കേണ്ട വഴിയും ചെയ്യേണ്ട പ്രവൃത്തിയും അവരെ അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ക. BSB BSB: Teach them the statutes and laws, and show them the way to live and the work they must do.
21 ULB അതുകൂടാതെ, ദൈവഭക്തന്മാരും സത്യവാന്മാരും കൈക്കൂലി വെറുക്കുന്നവരുമായ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ സകലജനത്തിൽനിന്നും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് അവരെ ആയിരംപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും, നൂറുപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും, അമ്പതുപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും പത്തുപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും നിയമിക്കുക. BSB BSB: Furthermore, select capable men from among the people—God-fearing, trustworthy men who are averse to dishonest gain. Appoint them over the people as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.
22 ULB അവർ എല്ലാസമയത്തും ജനത്തിന് ന്യായം വിധിക്കട്ടെ; വലിയ കാര്യം അവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെ; ചെറിയ കാര്യം അവർ തന്നെ തീർക്കട്ടെ; ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ വഹിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ നിനക്ക് ഭാരം കുറയും. BSB BSB: Have these men judge the people at all times. Then they can bring you any major issue, but all minor cases they can judge on their own, so that your load may be lightened as they share it with you.
23 ULB നീ ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്യുകയും ദൈവം അത് അനുവദിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നിനക്ക് നിലനില്ക്കാം. ഈ ജനങ്ങൾക്കെല്ലാം സമാധാനത്തോടെ അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് പോകുകയും ചെയ്യാം.” BSB BSB: If you follow this advice and God so directs you, then you will be able to endure, and all these people can go home in peace.”
24 ULB മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായിയപ്പന്റെ വാക്ക് കേട്ട്, അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ എല്ലാം ചെയ്തു. BSB BSB: Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said.
25 ULB മോശെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നും പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് അവരെ ആയിരംപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും നൂറുപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും അമ്പതുപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും പത്തുപേർക്ക് അധിപതിമാരായും ജനത്തിന് തലവന്മാരാക്കി. BSB BSB: So Moses chose capable men from all Israel and made them heads over the people as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.
26 ULB അവർ എല്ലാസമയത്തും ജനത്തിന് ന്യായംവിധിച്ചു വന്നു; വിഷമമുള്ള കാര്യം അവർ മോശെയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരും; ചെറിയ കാര്യം അവർ തന്നെ തീർക്കും. BSB BSB: And they judged the people at all times; they would bring the difficult cases to Moses, but any minor issue they would judge themselves.
27 ULB അതിന്റെ ശേഷം മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായിയപ്പനെ യാത്ര അയച്ചു; അവൻ സ്വദേശത്തേക്ക് മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി. BSB BSB: Then Moses sent his father-in-law on his way, and Jethro returned to his own land.
