1दरम्यान, काही याजक मंदिराच्या अंगणामध्ये होते. मंदिराच्या पहारेकऱ्यांचा अधिकारी आणि सदूकी गटांचे काही सदस्यही तेथे होते. पेत्र आणि योहान हे दोघे लोकांशी बोलत असतांना ते सर्व पुरुष त्यांच्याकडे आले.While Peter and John were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them,

2ते पुरूष फार क्रोधित झाले कारण ते दोघे प्रेषित येशूविषयी लोकांना शिक्षण देतांना त्यांना आढळले. देवाने येशूला मेलेल्यामधून पुन्हा जिवंत केले आहे असे ते लोकांना सांगत होते.greatly disturbed that they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.

3पेत्र आणि योहानाला प्रश्न विचारण्यासाठी यहूदी धर्मसभेला दुसऱ्या दिवसापर्यंत वाट पाहावी लागेल, कारण संध्याकाळ झाली होती.They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in custody until the next day.

4परंतु, पेत्राचे भाषण ऐकून पुष्कळ लोकांनी येशूवर विश्वास ठेवला. येशूवर विश्वास ठेवणाऱ्या पुरूषांची संख्या पाच हजारांच्यावरती गेली.But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

11नासोरी येशू ख्रिस्ता विषयी शास्त्रालेखात सांगितल्या प्रमाणे; “जो दगड बांधकाम करणाऱ्यांनी नापसंद केला तोच कोनशिला झाला.”This Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’

12फक्त येशूच आपल्याला वाचवू शकतो कारण दुसरा कोणीही मनुष्य नाही जो आम्हांला आमच्या पापापासून वाचवू शकतो, केवळ येशू आम्हांला तारण देवू शकतो कारण देवाने जगात इतर कोणताही मनुष्य दिला नाही ज्याच्या नावाने आमचे तारण होईल व आमच्या पापाचे दोष दूर होतील.Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

13यहूदी पुढाऱ्यांच्या हे लक्षात आले की, पेत्र आणि योहान ह्यांना त्यांची भीती वाटत नाही तसेच ते अज्ञानी व साधारण लोक आहेत आणि ते कधीही शाळेत शिकले नाही हे त्यांना समजले. म्हणून पुढाऱ्यांना आश्चर्य वाटले. त्यांना हे ठाऊक होते त्यांनी येशू ख्रिस्तासोबत वेळ घालवला आहे.When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they marveled and took note that these men had been with Jesus.

14बरा झालेला मनुष्य तरी पेत्र आणि योहान यांच्या जवळ उभा असल्याने यहूदी पुढारी त्यांच्याविरुद्ध काही बोलू शकले नाही.And seeing the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in response.

15तेव्हा यहूदी पुढाऱ्यांनी रक्षकाला सांगून पेत्र, योहान व बरा झालेला माणूस ह्यांना त्या खोलीच्या बाहेर जाण्यास सांगितले. त्यांनी तसे केल्यावर पुढारी पेत्र व योहान त्यांचे काय करावे ते आपसात मसलत करीत बसले.So they ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin and then conferred together.

16ते म्हणाले, “ह्या लोकांना शिक्षा होईल असे काहीही करू शकत नाही. यरुशलेमेतील प्रत्येकाला हे ठाऊक आहे की त्यांनी अद्भुत चमत्कार केला आहे, तो घडला नाही असेही आपण लोकांना सांगू शकत नाही.”“What shall we do with these men?” they asked. “It is clear to everyone living in Jerusalem that a remarkable miracle has occurred through them, and we cannot deny it.

17तरी दुसऱ्या लोकांमध्ये ह्यांनी येशूच्या नावाने शिक्षण द्यावे ह्याची आम्ही त्यांना परवानगी देऊ शकत नाही तर ज्याने ह्या माणसाला आरोग्य देण्याचा अधिकार दिला त्याच्याविषयी त्यांनी इतरांना सांगने थांबवले नाही तर आम्ही तुम्हाला शिक्षा करू असे त्यानां आता सांगू.But to keep this message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in this name.”

18तर यहूदी पुढाऱ्यांनी रक्षकांना त्या दोघा प्रेषितांना पुन्हा खोलीत आण्यास सांगितले. रक्षकांनी त्यांना आत आणल्यानतंर त्या दोघांना ते म्हणाले की त्यांनी ह्या पुढे येशूच्या नावाविषयी बोलू नका किंवा शिकवू नका.Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

19परंतु पेत्र आणि योहान त्यानां म्हणाले, “देवाची आज्ञा न पाळता तुम्ही स्वतःची आज्ञा पाळावी हे देवाच्या दृष्टिने योग्य आहे काय? योग्य काय आहे हे तुम्ही ठरवावे असे मला वाटते.”But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God.

20‘परंतु आमच्या दृष्टिने पाहिल्यास आम्ही तुमच्या आज्ञाचे पालन करू शकत नाही, येशूला लोकांसाठी जे चमत्कार करतांना आम्ही पाहिले व त्याने इतरांना शिकवीतांना आम्ही ऐकले हे आम्ही लोकांना सांगण्यापासून थांबणार नाही.”For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

21मग यहूदी पुढाऱ्यांनी पुन्हा पेत्र आणि योहान यांनी त्याची अवज्ञा करू नये असे सांगितले, परंतु त्यांना शिक्षा न करण्याचा निर्णय त्यांनी घेतला. कारण यरुशलेमेतील सर्व लोक तो मनुष्य चालू लागला आहे ही घटना घडल्यामुळे देवाची स्तुती करीत होते.After further threats they let them go. They could not find a way to punish them, because all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.

22तो मनुष्य चाळीस वर्षाहून अधिक वयाचा होता आणि जन्मापासूनच तो कधी चालला नव्हता.For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.

23पेत्र आणि योहान यहूदी धर्मसभेतून बाहेर आल्यानंतर, ते इतर विश्वासणाऱ्याकडे गेले आणि मुख्य याजक व यहूदीवडिलांनी त्यांना जे काही सांगितले ते त्यांनी सर्व काही त्यानां कळवले.On their release, Peter and John returned to their own people and reported everything that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

25आमचा पूर्वज राजा दावीद ह्याने जो तुझी सेवा करत होता त्याने पवित्र आत्म्याच्या द्वारे हे शब्द लिहले, “जगातील लोक का रागावले आहेत? इस्त्राएल लोक देवाविरुद्ध व्यर्थ योजना का आखत आहेत?You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of Your servant, our father David: ‘Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?

26जगातील राजांनी देवाच्या राज्याविरुद्ध लढण्यास तयारी केली आहे आणि इतर अधिकारी त्यांना त्यात सामिल झाले आहेत प्रभू देवाचा विरोध करण्यास व त्याला त्याने मसीहा म्हणून निवडले आहे त्याच्याविरुद्ध ते उभे राहिले आहेत.The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Anointed One.’

27हो हे सत्य आहे! येशू ज्याला तू मसीहा म्हणून सेवा करण्यासाठी निवडले त्याच्याविरुद्ध ह्या शहरातील इस्राएली लोक व परराष्ट्रीय एकत्र आले आहेत. हेरोद आणि पंत पिलात या दोघांनी या शहरात त्याच्या विरुद्ध योजना आखली आहे.In fact, this is the very city where Herod and Pontius Pilate conspired with the Gentiles and the people of Israel against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed.

28त्यांनी हे करावे असे तू घडू दिले कारण तू फार अगोदर असे घडेल हे ठरवले होते.They carried out what Your hand and will had decided beforehand would happen.

29म्हणून ते आम्हांला कशी शिक्षा करतील त्याविषयी ते काय म्हणत आहेत ते तू ऐक! येशूविषयी प्रत्येकाला सांगण्यासाठी व तुझी सेवा करण्यासाठी आम्हांला साहाय्य कर.And now, Lord, consider their threats, and enable Your servants to speak Your word with complete boldness,

30तुझा पवित्र सेवक येशू ह्या नावाने तुझे सामर्थ्य उपयोगात आणून आरोग्याची चिन्हे व चमत्कार यांची मोठी कामे घडू दे!”as You stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

31विश्वासणाऱ्यांनी प्रार्थना पूर्ण केली, तेव्हा ज्या जागेवर ते उभे होते ती जागा हालू लागली. पवित्र आत्म्याने जे शब्द बोलण्यासाठी सांगितले होते ते शब्द धैर्यपूर्व बोलावे असे सामर्थ्य दिले, आणि त्यांनी ही तसेच केले.After they had prayed, their meeting place was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

32येशूवर विश्वास ठेवणाऱ्या लोकांचा समुह त्यांच्या विचारात व त्यानां काय करायचे आहे ह्या बाबतीत पूर्णपणे एक मनाचे होते. त्यांच्यापैकी कोणीही असे कधी म्हणाला नाही की माझ्या मालकीची आहे. त्याच्याकडे जे काही होते ते सर्व एकमेकांना वाटत होते.The multitude of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they owned.

33प्रेषितांनी इतरांना धैर्याने देवाने येशू प्रभूला मेलेल्यामधून पुन्हा जिवंत केले हे सांगने सुरू ठेवले आणि देव सर्व विश्वासणाऱ्यांना खुप मदत करत होता.With great power the apostles continued to give their testimony about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And abundant grace was upon them all.

34विश्वासणाऱ्यांपैकी काही जणाची स्वतःची घरे जमीनी होत्या त्यांनी आपली मालमत्ता विकली. त्यांनी ते विकल्या नंतर तो पैसा ते आणत असत.There were no needy ones among them, because those who owned lands or houses would sell their property, bring the proceeds from the sales,

36त्या ठिकाणी योसेफ नावाचा एक मनुष्य होता तो लेवी वंशाचा असून कुप्र बेटातून आलेला होता. त्याला प्रेषित ‘बर्णबा’असे म्हणत असत. यहूदी भाषेत त्या नावाचा अर्थ, इतरांना उत्तेजन देणारा असा होतो.Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (meaning Son of Encouragement),

37त्याने आपली शेत जमीन विकली आणि तिचा पैसा इतर विश्वासणाऱ्यामध्ये वाटून देण्यासाठी प्रेषितांकडे आणून दिला.sold a field he owned, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
