2 PBA Sbe'b, sapa nang be'cakap de'lam be'he'sa lide, h, kok be'cakap ke'na manisia, tapi ke'na Tuan Allah; khana kok ade' ohang nang pa'am, tapi die' nyakapkan hal-hal nang losiade'lam maya. BSB BSB: For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries in the Spirit.
3 PBA Tapi, ohang nang bernubuat be'cakap ke'na manisia ondok me'ngun, nasihat, pe'nghiburan. BSB BSB: But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement, and comfort.
4 PBA Ohang-ohang nang be'cakap de'lam be'he'sa lide'h me'ngun dihinya se'nihi, tapi ohang nang bernubuat me'ngun jemaat. BSB BSB: The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.

9 PBA Macam gitu juge' mika. Kalau dengan lide'h dike'u, mika be'ucap kata-kata nang kok de'pat de'pa'am ohang, macam manah ohang nak tau apa nang de' katakan? Se'olah-olah mika be'cakap ke'na ange'n. BSB BSB: So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
10 PBA Munggin, ade' be'gitu be'nyak macam be'he'sa be'k atas ne'nie' ika kok satopon agi pade'nya nang kok be'makna. BSB BSB: Assuredly, there are many different languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning.
11 PBA Tapi, kalau aku kok tau mak ana be'he'sa itu, aku akan minda tolong ohang lain be'cakap, ohang nang be'cakap itu je'di ohang asing be'gi aku BSB BSB: If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me.

14 PBA Sbe'b, kalau de'lam be'hesa lide'h, maya aku be'doa, tapi pe'miki, h aku kok be'bue, h. BSB BSB: For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
15 PBA Je'di, apa ni nang de'pat aku bue't? Aku akan be'doa dengan maya aku, aku juge' akan be'doa dengan pe'miki, h aku. Aku akan nye'nyi dengan maya aku, aku juge' akan nye'nyi dengan pe'miki, h aku. BSB BSB: What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.
16 PBA Kalau mika anya mengucap niat kaul dengan maya dike'u, macam manah dengan ohang, nang ade' de'lam ke'adaan kok ade' karunia itu, de'pat nyakap, "Amin," atas ucapan niat kaul dike'u itu khana die' kok pa, am apa nang mika cakapkan? BSB BSB: Otherwise, if you speak a blessing in spirit, how can someone who is uninstructed say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying?
17 PBA Bie, hpon mika mengucap niat kaul de'ngan mole'k, tapi ohang lain kok de'bengun. BSB BSB: You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other one is not edified.

BSB BSB: But in the church, I would rather speak five coherent words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.
20 PBA Se'de'ha-se'de'ha, je'ngan je'di budak-budak de'lam pe'miki, h dike'u. Je'di ah bayi-bayi de'lam hal jie't, tapi de'lam pe'miki, h mika macam uhang be'se, h! BSB BSB: Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.
21 PBA Macam nang te'tulis de'lam Huku Taurat, "Ohang-ohang nang ade' de'pat be'he'sa asing khana mulut ohang-ohang asing, Aku akan be'cakap ke'na be'ngsa ika, tapi uhang tu kok akan ne'nge'ngkan Aku, penyakap Tuhan." BSB BSB: It is written in the Law: “By strange tongues and foreign lips I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to Me, says the Lord.”

BSB BSB: Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.
23 PBA Kalau semua jemaat be'gombol be'sama bek sato te'mbat, semuanya be'cakap dengan be'he'sa lide'h, lalu ade' ohang-ohang nang be'lom pa'am atou ohang-ohang be'lom be'caya masok, ken uhang tu akan nyakap be'he'sanya mika ika lah gile yah? BSB BSB: So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who are uninstructed or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?

BSB BSB: But if an unbeliever or uninstructed person comes in while everyone is prophesying, he will be convicted and called to account by all,

32 PBA Maya-maya nabi-nabi tunu'k ke'na nabi-nabi. BSB BSB: The spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.

BSB BSB: If they wish to inquire about something, they are to ask their own husbands at home; for it is dishonorable for a woman to speak in the church.
36 PBA Apa penyakap Tuan Allah asalnya agi mika? Atou, apa anya ke'na mika saje' pe'nyakap itu de'sambaikan? BSB BSB: Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only ones it has reached?

BSB BSB: If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is the Lord’s command.
38 PBA Kalu ade' ohang nang kok me'nge'nal ika, die' kok ke'nal. BSB BSB: But if anyone ignores this, he himself will be ignored.
39 PBA Je'di, Se'deha-se'de'haku, bue't ah de'ngan be'tul-be'tul ondok bernubuat, jengan me'lahang ohang-ohang be'cakap de'lam be'he'sa-be'he'sa lide'h. BSB BSB: So, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
40 PBA Tapi, semuanya mak de'bue't denga sopan, te'hato, h. BSB BSB: But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.
