1 UDB येशूले फरिसीहरूको बारेमा एउटा खबर पाउनुभयो। येशूले बप्तिस्मा दिने यूहन्नाले भन्दा धेरै चेलाहरू बनाउँदै हुनुहुन्थ्यो र उहाँले यूहन्नाले भन्दा धेरै मानिसहरूलाई बप्तिस्मा दिँदै हुनुहुन्थ्यो भनेर तिनीहरूले थाहा पाए। BSB BSB: When Jesus realized that the Pharisees were aware He was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John
2 UDB तर येशू आफैँले व्यक्तिगत रूपले बप्तिस्मा दिने काम गर्दै हुनु हुन्नथ्यो; उहाँका चेलाहरुले त्यसो गर्दैथिए। BSB BSB: (although it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples),
3 UDB त्यसले येशू र उहाँका चेलाहरूले यहूदियाको क्षेत्र छोड्नुभयो र फेरी एक पल्ट गालीलमा फर्कनुभयो। BSB BSB: He left Judea and returned to Galilee.
4 UDB यतिबेला उहाँहरूलाई सामरियाको क्षेत्रबाट जानुपर्यो। BSB BSB: Now He had to pass through Samaria.
5 UDB यसरी उहाँहरू सामरियाको क्षेत्रमा भएको सुखार भनिने एउटा नगरमा आउनुभयो। सुखार चाहीँ धेरै अघि याकूबले आफ्नो छोरा योसेफलाई दिएका जमीनको कित्ता नजीकै थियो। BSB BSB: So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.
6 UDB सुखार नगरको ठिक बाहिरपट्टि याकूबको इनार थियो। येशू आफ्नो लामो यात्राबाट धेरै थाक्नुभयो, र उहाँ थकाई मार्नलाई इनारको छेउमा बस्नुभयो। यतिबेला मध्यान्ह थियो। BSB BSB: Since Jacob’s well was there, Jesus, weary from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 UDB एकजना स्त्री सामरियाबाट निस्केर केही पानी तान्नलाई इनारमा आइन्। येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “मलाई पानी पिउन देऊ।” BSB BSB: When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
8 UDB यतिबेला उहाँका चेलारूले उहाँलाई एक्लै छाोडेिका थिए किनभने तिनीहरू खानेकुरा किन्नलाई नगरमा गएका थिए। BSB BSB: (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9 UDB स्त्रीले उहाँलाई भनिन्, “मलाई अचम्म लाग्यो कि तपाईं एकजना यहूदीले, म एकजना समारियाबाट आएकी स्त्रीसँग पानी पिउन माग्दै हुनुहुन्छ।” BSB BSB: “You are a Jew,” said the woman. “How can You ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)
10 UDB येशूले तिनलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो, “यदि परमेश्वरले तिमीलाई दिने इच्छा गर्नुभएको वरदान तिमीले थाहा पाएकी भए र यदि कसले तिमीसँग पिउने पानी माग्दैछ भनी तिमीले थाहा पाएकी भए, तिमीले मसँग पिउनलाई पानी माग्नेथियौ र म तिमीलाई जिउँदो पानी दिनेथिएँ।” BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
11 UDB गुरुज्यू, पानी इनारबाट माथि तान्नलाई तपाईंसँग बाल्टी वा डोरी छैन, र यो इनार गहिरो छ। यो जिउँदो पानी तपाईं कहाँबाट ल्याउनुहुन्छ? BSB BSB: “Sir,” the woman replied, “You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where then will You get this living water?
12 UDB तपाईं हाम्रा पिता याकूबभन्दा महान त हुन सक्दैन। उहाँले यो इनार खन्नुभयो जसलाई हामी आज प्रयोग गर्छौं, र उहाँ आफैँले यसबाट पिउनुभयो, उहाँका सन्तानहरू र उहाँका जनावरहरूले पनि त्यसै गरे। BSB BSB: Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock?”
13 UDB येशूले तिनलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो, “हरेक जसले यो इनारबाट पानी पिउँछ फेरि तिर्खाउनेछ, BSB BSB: Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.

Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”
15 UDB स्त्रीले उहाँलाई भनिन्, “गुरूज्यू, मलाई यो पानी दिनुहोस् जसले गर्दा म कहिल्यै तिर्खाउने छैन वा पानी तान्नलाई यहाँ फेरि आउनु पर्नेछ।” BSB BSB: The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I will not get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
16 UDB उहाँले जे भन्दै हुनुहुन्थ्यो त्यो तिनले बुझिनन् भनी येशूलाई थाहा थियो, यसैले उहाँले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “म्याडम, जाऊ र आफ्नो श्रीमानलाई बोलाऊ र तिनलाई यहाँ ल्याऊ।” BSB BSB: Jesus told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”

18 UDB किनभने तिमीसँग एकजना होइन, तर पाँचजना श्रीमानहरू थिए र तिमी अहिले जुन मानिससँग बस्दैछौ त्यो तिम्रो श्रीमान होइन। श्रीमान नभएको बारेमा तिमीले जे भनेकी छ्यौ त्यो सत्य हो।” BSB BSB: In fact, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. You have spoken truthfully.”
19 UDB स्त्रीले उहाँलाई भनिन्, “गुरुज्यू, तपाईं एक अगमवक्ता भएको म देख्छु। BSB BSB: “Sir,” the woman said, “I see that You are a prophet.
21 UDB येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “नारी, मैले यसो भन्दा ममा विश्वास गर कि एउटा समय आउँदैछ जतिबेला न यहाँ यस डाँडामा न यरूशलेममा नै मानिसहरूले पिताको आराधना गर्नेछन्। BSB BSB: “Believe Me, woman,” Jesus replied, “a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
23 UDB समय आउँदैछ र अहिले आएको छ जब परमेश्वरलाई साँचो रूपमा आराधना गर्नेहरूले पितालाई आत्मिक रूपमा र सत्यमा आराधना गर्नेछन्। पिताले यस्ताै मानिसहरू खोज्नुहुन्छ ता कि तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई यसरी नै आराधना गरून्। BSB BSB: But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.
24 UDB परमेश्वर आत्मा हुनुहुन्छ, र उहाँको आराधना गर्नेहरूले उहाँलाई आत्मिकी रूपले आराधना गर्नुपर्छ, र सत्यले तिनीहरूलाई आराधनामा अगुवाइ गर्नुपर्दछ।” BSB BSB: God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
25 UDB स्त्रीले उहाँलाई भनिन्, “म जान्दछु कि मसीह (जसलाई “ख्रीष्ट” पनि भनिन्छ) आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ। जब उहाँ आउनुहुन्छ, तब हामीले सुन्नु आवश्यक हरेक कुरा उहाँले हामीलाई भन्नुहुनेछ।” BSB BSB: The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”
26 UDB येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “म, जो अहिले तिमीसँग बोल्दैछु, म उही हुँ!” BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “I who speak to you am He.”

But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”

29 UDB “आऊ र एकजना मानिसलाई हेर जसले मैले सधैं गरेको सबै कुरा मलाई भन्नुभयो! ख्रीष्ट उहाँ नै त हुनुहुन्न, उहाँ हुनुहुन्छ कि?” BSB BSB: “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
30 UDB धेरै मानिसहरू नगरबाट बाहिर येशू हुनुभएको ठाउँमा जान सुरु गरे। BSB BSB: So they left the town and made their way toward Jesus.
31 UDB उहाँका चेलाहरूले, जो भर्खरै खानेकुरा लिएर फर्केका थिए, उहाँलाई बिन्ती, “गुरुज्यू, केही कुरा खानुहोस्।” BSB BSB: Meanwhile the disciples urged Him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
32 UDB येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “मसँग खानलाई भोजन छ जसको बारेमा तिमीहरू केही जान्दैनौ!” BSB BSB: But He told them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
33 UDB यसैले तिनीहरू एक अर्कामा भन्दैथिए, “कसैले उहाँलाई खानलाई केही कुरा ल्याइदिएको हुनै सक्दैन, के तिनीहरूले ल्याए त?” BSB BSB: So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?”
34 UDB येशूले भन्नुभयो, “म के को निम्ति ज्यादै भोको छुा म भन्नेछु: मलाई पठाउनुहुने मेरो पिताले जे इच्छा गर्नुहुन्छ त्यो गर्नु र उहाँका सबै कामहरू पुरा गर्नु हो।” BSB BSB: Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.
35 UDB वर्षको यो समयमा तिमीहरू सदैंजसो भन्नेगर्छौ, ‘चार महिना बाँकी छ, र त्यसपछि हामी अन्नहरू कटनी गर्नेछौं।’ तापनि आफ्नो चारैतिर हेर! यो क्षणमा कटनीको लागि खेतबारी तयार छ। अहिले गैरयहूदीहरू परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूमा राज्य गर्ने इच्छा गर्दैछन्; तिनीहरू अहिले कटनीको निम्ति तयार खेतबारी जस्तै छन्। BSB BSB: Do you not say, ‘There are still four months until the harvest’? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.
36 UDB जसले यो विश्वास गर्छ र यस किसिमको कटनीको काम गर्न तयार हुन्छ त्यसले अघिबाटै आफ्नो ज्याला पाउँदैछ र अनन्त जीवनको लागि धेरै फसल जम्मा गर्दैछ। ती जसले बिउ छर्छन् र ती जसले फसल कटनी गर्छन्, एकसाथ रमाउनेछन्। BSB BSB: Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.
37 UDB यो भनाइ सत्य छः एकजना व्यक्तिले बिीउहरू रोप्छ र अर्को व्यक्तिले अन्नहरू कटनी गर्छ। BSB BSB: For in this case the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.
38 UDB तिमीहरूले नरोपेको फसल कटनी गरी जम्मा गर्न मैले तिमीहरूलाई पठाँए। अरूहरूले धेरै कडा परिश्रम गरे, तर तिनीहरूका काममा तिमीहरू अहिले सहभागी हुँदैछौ।” BSB BSB: I sent you to reap what you have not worked for; others have done the hard work, and now you have taken up their labor.”
39 UDB त्यस स्त्रीले तिनीहरूलाई भनेका सबै कुराबाट तिनीहरूले उहाँको बारेमा जे सुने त्यो कारणले सुखारको नगरमा बस्ने धेरैजना सामरीहरूले आफ्नो विश्वास येशूमा राखे। तिनले भनिन्, “मैले सधैं गरेको सबै कुरा उहाँले मलाई भन्नुभयो।” BSB BSB: Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
40 UDB जब सामरीिहरू येशूकहाँ आए, अलि लामो समय तिनीहरूसँग बस्नलाई तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई बिन्ती गरे। यसैले उहाँ त्यहाँ अरू दुई दिन बस्नुभयो। BSB BSB: So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.
41 UDB उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई जे घोषणा गर्नुभयो त्यो कारणले तिनीहरूमध्ये अरू धेरैले येशूमा विश्वास गरे। BSB BSB: And many more believed because of His message.
42 UDB तिनीहरूले स्त्रीलाई भने, “तिमीले उहाँको बारेमा हामीलाई जे भन्यौ त्यो कारणले मात्र होइन तर हामी आफैँले उहाँको सन्देश सुनेका कारणले हामी अहिले येशूमा विश्वास गर्छौँ। अब हामी जान्दछौं कि यी मानिस साँच्चै नै संसारको मुक्तिदाता हुनुहुन्छ।” BSB BSB: They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.”
43 UDB सामरियामा ती दुईदिन बसेपछि, येशू र उहाँका चेलाहरू गालीलको क्षेत्रमा जानुभयो। BSB BSB: After two days, Jesus left for Galilee.
44 UDB (येशू आफैँले निश्चित रूपमा भन्नुभयो कि एकजान अगमवक्ताको धेरै ठाउँहरूमा आदर हुन्छ तर ऊ हुर्किएको ठाउँमा कहिलै हुँदैन।) BSB BSB: Now He Himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.
45 UDB तापनि, जब उहाँ गालीलमा आउनुभयो, त्यहाँ भएका धेरै मानिसहरूले उहाँलाई स्वागत गरे। उहाँ को हुनुहुन्थ्यो भनी तिनीहरू जान्दथे किनभने यरूशलेममा हालैमा आयोजना गरिएको निस्तार-चाडको समयमा उहाँले गर्नुभएका सबै कुराहरू तिनीहरूले देखे। BSB BSB: Yet when He arrived, the Galileans welcomed Him. They had seen all the great things He had done in Jerusalem at the feast, for they had gone there as well.
46 UDB गालीलको कानामा येशू फेरि फर्केर जानुभयो। (त्यही ठाउँ थियो जहाँ उहाँले पानीलाई दाखमद्यमा बदल्नुभएको थियो।) त्यहाँ राजाको एकजना अधिकारी थिए जो मात्र सत्ताइस किलोमिटर टाडा कफर्नहुममा बस्थे, र तिनको छोरा अति बिरामी थियो। BSB BSB: So once again He came to Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.
47 UDB येशू यहूदियाबाट फर्केर गालीलमा आउनुभएको छ भनी जब ती मानिसले सुने, तिनी कानामा येशूकहाँ गए र उहाँसँग बिन्ती गरे, “कफर्नहुममा तल आउनुहोस् र मेरो छोरोलाई निको पार्नुहोस्। ऊ मर्नै लागेको छ!” BSB BSB: When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Him to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.
48 UDB येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “जबसम्म म को हुँ भनी प्रमाणित गर्ने कुराहरू मैले गरेको तिमीले देख्दैनौ र मैले आश्चर्य कामहरू गरेको हेर्दैनौ, तिमीले ममा विश्वास गर्नेछैनौ!” BSB BSB: Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe.”
49 UDB तापनि त्यस अधिकारीले उहाँलाई भने, “गुरुज्यू, कृपया मेरो छोरो मर्नु अघि तपाईं तल मेरो घरमा आउनुहोस्!” BSB BSB: “Sir,” the official said, “come down before my child dies.”
50 UDB येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “जाऊ! तिम्रो छोरा बाँच्नेछ।” येशूले भन्नुभएका कुरामा ती मानिसले विश्वास गरे, र तिनले घरतर्फ फर्कने आफ्नो यात्रा सुरु गरे। BSB BSB: “Go,” said Jesus. “Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed.
51 UDB जसै कफर्नहुमको आफ्नो घरमा जानलाई तिनी तलतिर झर्दैथिए, तिनका सेवकहरूले तिनलाई बाटोमै भेटे। तिनीहरूले तिनलाई भने, “तपाईंको बालक बाँच्न गइरहेछ।” BSB BSB: And while he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.
52 UDB तिनले तिनीहरूलाई सोधे, “कुन बेलादेखि मेरो छोरोलाई सन्चो हुन थाल्यो?” तिनीहरूले तिनलाई भने, “हिजो दिउँसो एक बजेतिर उसलाई ज्वरोले छाड्यो।” BSB BSB: So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.”
53 UDB त्यसपछि केटाको बुबाले महसुस गरे कि यसै समयमा नै येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रो छोरा बाँच्छ।” यसैले तिनको घरमा बस्ने हरेक सबैजनासँगै तिनले येशूमा विश्वास गरे। BSB BSB: Then the father realized that this was the very hour in which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and all his household believed.
54 UDB उहाँ को हुनुहुन्थ्यो भनी मानिसहरूलाई प्रमाणित गर्नलाई येशूले केही गर्नुभएको त्यो दोस्रो पल्ट थियो। उहाँ यहूदियाबाट यात्रा गरी गालीलको क्षेत्रमा आउनुभएको समयमा उहाँले त्यो गर्नुभयो। BSB BSB: This was now the second sign that Jesus performed after coming from Judea into Galilee.
