Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.
14 UDB तिमी अत्यन्त खुशी हुनेछौ र अरू धेरै मानिसहरू पनि खुशी हुनेछन् किनभने उनी जन्मिएका छन्। BSB BSB: He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice at his birth,

He shall never take wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.
16 UDB पाप गर्न रोक्न र फेरि पनि परमप्रभु आफ्ना परमेश्वरको बचनमा आज्ञाकारी हुन उनले इज्राएलका धेरै वंशहरूलाई उप्रेरित गर्नेछन्। BSB BSB: Many of the sons of Israel he will turn back to the Lord their God.

21 UDB मन्दिरभित्र जकरिया र स्वर्गदूतले कुरा गरिरहेको समयमा चोकमा भएका मानिसहरू जकरियालाई बाहिर आउनलाई पर्खिरहेका थिए। मन्दिर भित्र उनी त्यति लामो समयसम्म किन बसिरहेका थिए भनी तिनीहरू जिल्ल परे। BSB BSB: Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he took so long in the temple.

31 UDB तिमी गर्भवती हुनेछ्यौ र एउटा छोरो जन्माउनेछ्यौ, र तिमीले उहाँको नाम येशू राख्नुपर्छ। BSB BSB: Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus.
32 UDB उहाँ महान हुनुहुनेछ र सर्वोच्च परमेश्वरको पुत्र कहलाईनु हुनेछ। परमप्रभु परमेश्वरले उहाँका पुर्खा दाऊदलाई झैं उहाँलाई आफ्ना मानिसहरूका राजा बनाउनुहुनेछ। BSB BSB: He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David,
33 UDB उहाँले याकूबका सन्तानहरूमाथि सधैंभरि राज्य गर्नुहुनेछ। उहाँले सदासर्वदा राज्य गर्नुहुनेछ! BSB BSB: and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end!”

So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.
36 UDB अनि यो कुरा सुन, तिम्री नातेदार एलीशिबाको धेरै वृद्धा भए तापनि तिनको गर्भमा एउटा छोरो छ। र तिनले छोराछोरी जन्माउन सक्दिनन् भनेर मानिसहरूले सोचे तापनि, अहिले तिनी गर्भवती भएको करिब छ महिना भइसकेको छ। BSB BSB: Look, even Elizabeth your relative has conceived a son in her old age, and she who was called barren is in her sixth month.
37 UDB किनकि परमेश्वरले कुनै पनि कुरा गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ!” BSB BSB: For no word from God will ever fail.”
39 UDB त्यसपछि तुरन्तै मरियम तयार भइन् र चाँडै नै जकरिया बस्ने यहूदियाको पहाडी भेगमा गईन्। BSB BSB: In those days Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judah,
40 UDB तिनी उनको घरभित्र पसिन् र उनकी पत्नी एलीशिबालाई अभिवादन गरिन्। BSB BSB: where she entered the home of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.

43 UDB तपाईं, मेरो प्रभुको आमा आफैं, मलाई भेट्न आउनु कति अचम्मको कुरा हो। BSB BSB: And why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 UDB तपाईंले मलाई अभिवादन गरेको मैले सुन्ने बित्तिकै मेरो गर्भमा भएको बालक उफ्रियो किनभने तपाईं आउनुभएकोमा ऊ धेरै आनन्दित थियो। BSB BSB: For as soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
45 UDB तपाईं धन्यकी हुनुहुन्छ किनभने परमप्रभुले तपाईंलाई भन्नुभएको कुरा पूरा हुन आउनेछ भनी तपाईंले विश्वास गर्नुभयो।” BSB BSB: Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord’s word to her will be fulfilled.”
47 UDB परमेश्वरको बारेमा म अति नै आनन्दित महसूस गदर्छु, मलाई बचाउने उहाँ नै हुनुहुन्छ। BSB BSB: and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
49 UDB शक्तिशाली परमेश्वरले मेरो निम्ति गर्नुभएका महान कुराहरूका कारण तिनीहरूले यसो भन्नेछन्। उहाँको नाम पवित्र छ! BSB BSB: For the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is His name.

59 UDB यसपछिको आठौं दिनमा, बालकको खताना गर्ने उत्सवका लागि मानिसहरू एकसाथ भेला भए। तिनका पिताको नाम जकरिया भएकोले गर्दा तिनीहरूले बालकको पनि त्यही नाम राख्न चाहान्थे। BSB BSB: On the eighth day, when they came to circumcise the child, they were going to name him after his father Zechariah.
60 UDB तर उनकी आमाले भनिन्, “होइन उसको नाम यूहन्ना राख्नुपर्छ”! BSB BSB: But his mother replied, “No! He shall be called John.”
