2 UDB पिलातासले येशूलाई सोधे, “के तिमी भन्छौ कि तिमी यहूदीहरूका राजा हौ?” येशूले जवाफ दिनुभयो, “तपाईंले आफैंले त्यसो भन्नुभएको छ।” BSB BSB: So Pilate questioned Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.

5 UDB तर येशूले अरू केही बोल्नुभएन। परिणामस्वरूप पिलातस धेरै अचम्ममा परे। BSB BSB: But to Pilate’s amazement, Jesus made no further reply.
6 UDB प्रत्येक वर्ष निस्तार-चाडको उत्सवको समयमा गवर्नरले झ्यालखानामा भएका कैदीहरूमध्ये एक जनालाई छाडीदिने प्रचलन थियो। प्राय: मानिसहरूले अनुरोध गरेको कुनै एकजना कैदीलाई उनले छोडिदिन्थे। BSB BSB: Now it was Pilate’s custom at the feast to release to the people a prisoner of their choosing.

8 UDB एउटा भीड पिलातसकहाँ आयो र विगतमा जस्तै कसैलाई छाडिदिन बिन्ती गर्यो। BSB BSB: So the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to keep his custom.
9 UDB पिलातसले तिनीहरूलाई जवाफ दिए, “जसलाई तिमीहरूले आफ्नो राजा भन्छौ, के त्यो मानिसलाई मैले छोडिदिउँ भनी तिमीहरू इच्छा गर्छौ?” BSB BSB: “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” Pilate asked.

11 UDB तर येशूको सट्टामा बरब्बालाई छोडिदिन पिलातसलाई बिन्ति गर्न मुख्य पुजारीहरूले भिडलाई अनुरोध गरे। BSB BSB: But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release Barabbas to them instead.
12 UDB पिलातसले तिनीहरूलाई फेरि पनि सोधे, “मैले बरब्बालाई छोडें भने, तिमीहरूका राजालाई म के गरूँ भन्ने तिमीहरू चाहन्छौ?” BSB BSB: So Pilate asked them again, “What then do you want me to do with the One you call the King of the Jews?”
13 UDB तब तिनीहरूले कराएर भने, “त्यसलाई क्रूसमा टाँग्नुहोस्!” BSB BSB: And they shouted back, “Crucify Him!”
14 UDB तब पिलातसले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “किन? उसले के अपराध गरेको छ?” तर तिनीहरूले झन् बढी चर्को स्वरले, “त्यसलाई क्रूसमा टाँग्नुहोस्!” BSB BSB: “Why?” asked Pilate. “What evil has He done?” But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”

18 UDB तब तिनीहरूले उहाँको गिल्ला गर्नको निम्ति राजालाई अभिवादन गरे झैं उहाँलाई अभिवादन गरे। तिनीहरूले भने, “यहूदीहरूका राजालाई प्रणाम!” BSB BSB: And they began to salute Him: “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Then they led Him out to crucify Him.

22 UDB सिपाहीहरूले गलगाथा भन्ने गरेको ठाउँमा तिनीहरूले ती दुवैजनालाई ल्याए। त्यसको अर्थ, “खप्परको स्थान” भन्ने हुन्छ। BSB BSB: They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha, which means The Place of the Skull.

29 UDB नजीकबाट हिंड्दै गरेका मानिसहरूले उहाँलाई हेरेर आफ्नो टाउको हल्लाउँदै उहाँको अपमान गरे। तिनीहरूले भने, “ओए! तिमीले मन्दिर नाश गरेर त्यसलाई फेरि तीन दिनभित्र बनाउनेछु भन्थ्यौ। BSB BSB: And those who passed by heaped abuse on Him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,
30 UDB तिमीले त्यसो गर्न सक्छौ भने, क्रूसबाट तल ओर्लेर आफैंलाई बचाऊ!” BSB BSB: come down from the cross and save Yourself!”
31 UDB मुख्य पुजारीहरूले पनि यहूदी व्यवस्था सिकाउने मानिसहरूसँग मिलेर येशूको गिल्ला गरे। यसैले तिनीहरूले एक-आपसमा भने, “यसले अरूलाई तिनीहरूको कष्टबाट बचायो, तर उसले आफैंँलाई बचाउन सक्दैन! BSB BSB: In the same way, the chief priests and scribes mocked Him among themselves, saying, “He saved others, but He cannot save Himself!
32 UDB उसले भन्यो, ‘म ख्रीष्ट हुँ। म इस्राएलका मानिसहरूमाथि राज्य गर्ने राजा हुँ।’ उसका शब्दहरू सत्य हुन् भने, ऊ अहिले नै क्रूसबाट तल ओर्लेर आउनुपर्छ! तब हामी उसलाई विश्वास गर्नेछौं!” उहाँको दायाँबायाँ क्रूसमा टाँगिएका दुईजना मानिसहरूले पनि उहाँको गिल्ला गरे। BSB BSB: Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” And even those who were crucified with Him berated Him.

He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.”
38 UDB त्यस समयमा मन्दिरको महापवित्र स्थानको पर्दा तलदेखि माथि सम्मै च्यातिएर दुई टुक्रा भयो। BSB BSB: And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
39 UDB येशूलाई क्रूसमा काँटीमा झुण्याउने सिपाहीहरूका हाकिम येशूको सामु खडा थिए। जब तिनले येशू कसरी मर्नुभयो त्यो देखे, उनले भने, “यो मानिस साँच्चै परमेश्वरको पुत्र हो!” BSB BSB: When the centurion standing there in front of Jesus saw how He had breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
40 UDB त्यहाँ केही स्त्रीहरू पनि थिए। तिनीहरू टाढैाबाटै यी घटनाहरू हेर्दै थिए। येशू गालीलमा हुनुभएको समयदैखि नै तिनीहरू उहाँसँगै आएका थिए, र उहाँलाई जे खाँचो हुन्थ्यो त्यो तिनीहरूले जटाउँथे। BSB BSB: And there were also women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.
41 UDB तिनीहरू उहाँसँगै यरूशलेममा आएका थिए। तिनीहरूमध्ये एकजना मरियम मग्दलिनी थिइन्। त्यहाँ अर्की मरियम पनि थिइन्, जो सानो याकूब र योसेफकी आमा थिइन्। त्यहाँ सलोमी पनि थिइन्। BSB BSB: These women had followed Jesus and ministered to Him while He was in Galilee, and there were many other women who had come up to Jerusalem with Him.
