1 UDB मानिसहरूले निस्तार-चाड भन्ने गरेको हप्ताभर लामो चाडको उत्वस मनाउन तिनीहरूले सुरु गर्न दुई दिन मात्र बाँकी थियो। त्यो समयमा तिनीहरूले अर्को चाडको उत्सव पनि मनाउँथे जसलाई तिनीहरूले अखमिरी रोटीको चाड भन्थे। मुख्य पुजारीहरू र यहूदी व्यवस्था सिकाउने मानिसहरूले कसरी गुप्त रूपमा तिनीहरूले येशूलाई गिरफ्तार गर्न र उहाँलाई मार्न सक्छन् भनी योजना गर्दै थिए। BSB BSB: Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were two days away, and the chief priests and scribes were looking for a covert way to arrest Jesus and kill Him.
2 UDB तर तिनीहरू एक-अर्कामा यसो भन्दै थिए, “हामीले यो काम चाडको समयमा गर्नु हुँदैन, किनभने हामीले त्यसो गर्यौं भने, मानिसहरू हामीसँग साह्रै रिसाउनेछन् र विद्रोह गर्नेछन्!” BSB BSB: “But not during the feast,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.”

She broke open the jar and poured it on Jesus’ head.
4 UDB उपस्थित मानिसहरूमध्ये कोही रिसाए र आपसमा भने, “तिनले त्यो अत्तर खेर फालेर धेरै नराम्रो गरिन्! BSB BSB: Some of those present, however, expressed their indignation to one another: “Why this waste of perfume?
5 UDB यसलाई करीब एक वर्षको ज्याला बराबरमा बेच्न सकिन्थ्यो, र त्यसपछि त्यो पैसा गरीब मानिसहरूलाई दिन सकिन्थ्यो!” यसैले तिनीहरूले तिनलाई गाली गरे। BSB BSB: It could have been sold for over three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor.” And they scolded her.
6 UDB तर येशूले भन्नुभयो, “तिनलाई गाली नगर! मैले अति उचित भनी विचार गर्ने काम तिनले मेरो लागि गरेकी छिन्। त्यसैले तिमीहरूले तिनलाई दुःख दिनु हुँदैन। BSB BSB: But Jesus said, “Leave her alone; why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful deed to Me.
7 UDB गरीब मानिसहरू तिमीहरू माझमा सधैंभरि हुनेछन्। यसैले जब तिमीहरूले इच्छा गर्छौ तब तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई मद्धत गर्न सक्छौ। तर म यहाँ तिमीहरूसँग धेरै लामो समय रहनेछैन। BSB BSB: The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them whenever you want. But you will not always have Me.
8 UDB तिनले जे गर्न सक्थिन् सो गरेर तिनले अति उचित काम गरेकी छिन्। चाँडै नै मेरो मृत्यु हुन गइरहेको छ भनेर तिनलाई थाहा भएको जस्तो छ, किनभने तिनले मेरो शरीरलाई अघिबाटै अभिषेक गरेकी छिन् जसले गर्दा यो दफनको निम्ति तयार छ। BSB BSB: She has done what she could to anoint My body in advance of My burial.
9 UDB म तिमीहरूलाई यो भन्छुः संसारभरि जहाँजहाँ मेरा चेलाहरूले सुसमाचार प्रचार गर्छन्, यिनले जे गरेकी छिन् त्यसको बारेमा पनि तिनीहरूले भन्नेछन्, र मानिसहरूले तिनलाई सम्झनेछन्।” BSB BSB: And truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached in all the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”
10 UDB त्यसपछि येशूलाई गिरफ्तार गर्न मुख्य पुजारीहरूलाई सहयोग गरिदिने बारेमा कुरा गर्न यहूदा इस्कोरियती तिनीहरूकहाँ गयो। ऊ बाह्रजना चेलाहरूमध्येको एकजना थियो तापनि उसले त्यो काम गर्यो। BSB BSB: Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them.

So Judas began to look for an opportunity to betray Jesus.

BSB BSB: On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed, Jesus’ disciples asked Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”

15 UDB तिनले तिमीहरूलाई घरको माथिल्लो तल्लामा भएको एउटा ठूलो कोठा देखाउनेछन्। हाम्रा निम्ति त्यसमा भोज खानलाई त्यो सजाइएको र तयार पारिएको हुनेछ। तब त्यहाँ हाम्राो निम्ति भोज तयार पार।” BSB BSB: And he will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”
16 UDB यसैले दुइजना चेलाहरू गए। तिनीहरू सहरमा गए र उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभएको जस्तै सबै कुरा पाए। तिनीहरूले त्यहाँ निस्तार-चाडको उत्सवको लागि भोज तयार पारे। BSB BSB: So the disciples left and went into the city, where they found everything as Jesus had described. And they prepared the Passover.
17 UDB झमक्क साँझ परेको समयमा, येशू बाह्रजना चेलाहरूसँगै त्यस घरमा पुग्नुभयो। BSB BSB: When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve.
18 UDB उहाँहरू सबैजना त्यहाँ बसेर खाँदै गर्नुहुँदा, येशूले भन्नुभयो, “यो कुरा होसियार भएर सुन: तिमीहरूमध्येको एकजनाले मलाई गिरफ्तार गर्न मेरो शत्रुहरूलाई सम्भव बनाउनेछ। त्यो तिमीहरूमध्ये एकजना हो जसले अहिले मसँग खाँदैछ!” BSB BSB: And while they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, one of you who is eating with Me will betray Me.”
19 UDB चेलाहरू अति दुःखी भए र तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई एकपछि अर्को गर्दै सोधे, “निश्चय त्यो म होइन?” BSB BSB: They began to be grieved and to ask Him one after another, “Surely not I?”
20 UDB त्यसपछि उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “यो तिमीहरू बाह्रजना चेलाहरूमध्ये एकजना, मसँगै कचौरामा भएको ससमा रोटी चोप्दै गरेको एकजना हो। BSB BSB: He answered, “It is one of the Twelve—the one who is dipping his hand into the bowl with Me.
21 UDB म, मानिसको पुत्रको मृत्यु हुने कुरा त पक्का हो, किनभने मेरो बारेमा त्यही कुरा लेखिएको छ। तर मलाई धोखा दिने मानिसलाई डरलाग्दो सजाय हुनेछ! वास्तवमा, ऊ कहिल्यै नजन्मेको भए उसलाई असल हुनेथियो!” BSB BSB: The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”
22 UDB उहाँहरूले खाइरहनु भएको बेलामा, उहाँले एउटा रोटी लिनुभयो र त्यसको लागि परमेश्वरलाई धन्यवाद दिनुभयो। अनि उहाँले त्यो भाँच्नुभयो र तिनीहरूलाई दिनुभयो र तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “यो रोटी मेरो शरीर हो। यो लेओ र यो खाओ।” BSB BSB: While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take it; this is My body.”

25 UDB तिमीहरूले यो जान भनी म इच्छा गर्छुः परमेश्वरले आफैंलाई राजाको रूपमा प्रकट नगर्नुभएसम्म म अब अरू दाखमद्य पिउनेछैन।” BSB BSB: Truly I tell you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God.”
26 UDB उहाँहरूले एउटा भजन गाउनुभएपछि, उहाँहरू जैतुन डाँडातर्फ जानुभयो। BSB BSB: And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
27 UDB उहाँहरू आफ्नो बाटोमा जाँदै गर्नुहुँदा, येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “परमेश्वरले मेरो बारेमा भन्नुभएको कुराहरू तिनीहरूले धर्मशास्त्रमा लेखे, 'म गोठालोालाई मार्नेछु र उसका भेडाहरूलाई छरपष्ट पार्नेछु।' ती वचनहरू पूरा हुनेछन्। तिमीहरूले मलाई त्याग्नेछौ र भाग्नेछौ। BSB BSB: Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’
28 UDB तर परमेश्वरले मलाई फेरिी जीिवित बनाउनु भएपछि, म तिमीहरूभन्दा अघि गालील जिल्लामा जानेछु र तिमीहरूलाई त्यहाँ भेट्नेछु।” BSB BSB: But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
29 UDB तब पत्रुसले उहाँलाई भने, “सायद अरू सबै चेलाहरूले तपाईंलाई त्याग्ने छन् तर म त्याग्ने छैन! म तपाईंलाई त्याग्ने छैन!” BSB BSB: Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I never will.”
30 UDB त्यसपछि येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “सत्य यो हो कि आजकै रात, भाले दोस्रोपल्ट बास्नुभन्दा अघि तिमीले मलाई चिन्दिन भनेर तीनपल्ट इन्कार गर्नेछौ।” BSB BSB: “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.”
31 UDB तर पत्रुसले जोडदार रूपमा जवाफ दिए, “तिनीहरूले मलाई मार्छन् नै भने पनि, म तपाईंलाई चिन्दिन भन्नेछैन।” र अरू सबै चेलाहरूले पनि यही कुरा भने। BSB BSB: But Peter kept insisting, “Even if I have to die with You, I will never deny You.” And all the others said the same thing.
33 UDB त्यसपछि उहाँले पत्रुस, याकूब र यूहन्नालाई आफ्नो साथमा लानुभयो। उहाँ ज्यादै दुःखी हुनुभयो। BSB BSB: He took with Him Peter, James, and John, and began to be deeply troubled and distressed.
34 UDB उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “म ज्यादै शोकित भएको छु। म मर्नको लागेको जस्तै भएको छु। तिमीहरू यहाँ बस र हेरिराख!” BSB BSB: Then He said to them, “My soul is consumed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch.”
35 UDB उहाँ अलि पर जानुभयो र आफैंलाई जमिनमा फालिदिनुभयो। तब उहाँले प्रार्थना गर्नुभयो कि सम्भव हुन्छ भने, उहाँले दुःख भोग्नुहुने छैन। BSB BSB: Going a little farther, He fell to the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour would pass from Him.
37 UDB त्यसपछि उहाँ फर्कनुभयो र उहाँका चेलाहरूलाई निदाउँदै गरेको भेटाउँनुभयो। उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई उठाउँँनुभयो र भन्नुभयो, “सिमोन! के तिमी निदाउँदैछौ? के तिमी छोटो समयका लागि पनि जागा रहन सकेनौ?” BSB BSB: Then Jesus returned and found them sleeping. “Simon, are you asleep?” He asked. “Were you not able to keep watch for one hour?
38 UDB अनि उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिमीहरू मेरो आज्ञा पालन गर्ने इच्छा गर्छौ, तर तिमीहरू कम्जोर छौ। यसैले जागा रहो र प्रार्थना गर जसले गर्दा तिमीहरूलाई परीक्षा आउँदा तिमीहरू त्यसको सामना गर्न सक्छौ!” BSB BSB: Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
39 UDB त्यसपछि उहाँ फेरि अलि पर जानुभयो, र उहाँले यसअघि गर्नुभएको प्रार्थना फेरि गर्नुभयो। BSB BSB: Again He went away and prayed, saying the same thing.
40 UDB जब उहाँ फर्कनुभयो, उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई फेरिी पनि निदाइरहेको भेटाउनुभयो। तिनीहरूलाई यति साह्रै निद्रा लागेको थियो कि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना आँखा खुल्ला राख्न सकेनन्। तिनीहरू शर्ममा परेका हुनाले, उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई ब्युँझाउनुहुँदा, उहाँलाई के जवाफ दिने भनी तिनीहरूलाई थाहा नै भएन। BSB BSB: And again Jesus returned and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. And they did not know what to answer Him.
41 UDB त्यसपछि उहाँ जानुभयो र फेरि प्रार्थना गर्नुभयो। उहाँ तस्रोपल्ट पर्कनुभयो र तिनीहरूलाई फरि निदाइरहेका भेटाउनुभयो। उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिमीहरू अझै निदाएका छौ? अरू बढी यसो नगर! मेरो दुःख भोग्ने समय सुरु हुन लाग्यो। हेर! कसैले पापी मानिसहरूलाई लिएर मलाई, मानिसको पुत्रलाई गिरफ्तार गर्न आउँदैछ। BSB BSB: When Jesus returned the third time, He said, “Are you still sleeping and resting? That is enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
42 UDB यसैले उठ! हामी जाऔं! हेर! मलाई गिरफ्तार गर्न तिनीहरूलाई लिएर आउने एकजना आइसकेको छ!” BSB BSB: Rise, let us go. See, My betrayer is approaching!”
43 UDB उहाँहरू बोल्दै गर्नुहुँदा, यहूदा आइपुग्यो। ऊ येशूका बाह्रजना चेलाहरूमध्ये एकजना भए तापनि, येशूलाई गिरफ्तार गर्न उहाँका शत्रुहरूलाई लिएर आयो। तरवारहरू र लठ्ठीहरू बोकेका एउटा ठूलो भीड उसको साथमा थियो। यहूदी सभाका अगुवाहरूले तिनीहरूलाई पठाएका थिए। BSB BSB: While Jesus was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, scribes, and elders.
44 UDB येशूलाई धोखा दिंदै गरेको यहूदाले यस भीडलाई पहिले नै भनेको थियो, “जसलाई म चुम्बन गर्छु, तिमीहरूले खोजेको व्यक्ति उनी नै हुन्। जब म उनलाई चुम्बन गर्छु, उनलाई गिरफ्तार गर्नु र लिएर जानू।” BSB BSB: Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The One I kiss is the man; arrest Him and lead Him away securely.”
45 UDB यसैले जब यहूदा आइपुग्यो, ऊ तुरन्तै येशूकहाँ गयो र भन्यो, “मेरो गुरू!” तब उसले यशूलाई चुम्बन गर्यो। BSB BSB: Going directly to Jesus, he said, “Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
46 UDB त्यसपछि भीिडले येशूलाई गिरफ्तार गर्यो। BSB BSB: Then the men seized Jesus and arrested Him.
47 UDB तर नजीकै खडा चेलाहरूमध्ये एकजनाले आफ्नो तरवार थुते। तिनले त्यो प्रधान पुजारीको सेवकमाथि प्रहार गरे, तर तिनले उसको कान मात्र काट्न सके। BSB BSB: And one of the bystanders drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
48 UDB येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “तपाईंहरू यहाँ मलाई गिरफ्तार गर्नलाई, म एकजना डाँका भएझैं तरवारहरू र लठ्ठीहरू लिएर आउनुभयो! दिनदिनै म मन्दिर परिसरमा मानिसहरूलाई शिक्षा दिंदै तपाईंहरूसँगै थिएँ! किन तपाईंहरूले मलाई गिरफ्तार गर्नुभएन? BSB BSB: Jesus asked the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw?
49 UDB तर मेरो बारेमा अगमवक्ताले धर्मशस्त्रमा जे लेखेका छन् त्यो पूरा होस् भनेर नै यो हुँदैछ।” BSB BSB: Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me. But this has happened that the Scriptures would be fulfilled.”
50 UDB सबै चेलाहरूले तुरून्तै उहाँलाई त्यागे र भागे। BSB BSB: Then everyone deserted Him and fled.
51 UDB त्यो समयमा एकजना जवान मानिसले येशूलाई पछ्याईरहेको थियो। उसले आफ्नो शरीरमा सुतीवस्त्र मात्र लगाएको थियो। भीडले उसलाई समात्यो। BSB BSB: One young man who had been following Jesus was wearing a linen cloth around his body. They caught hold of him,
52 UDB तर जसै उसले आफैंलाई तिनीहरूबाट तान्यो, उसको सुतीवस्त्त्र तिनीहरूका हातमा नै छोड्यो र नाङ्गै भाग्यो। BSB BSB: but he pulled free of the linen cloth and ran away naked.
53 UDB येशूलाई गिरफ्तार गरेका मानिसहरूले उहाँलाई प्रधान पुजारीको घरमा लिएर गए। यहूदी सभाका सदस्यहरू सबै त्यहाँ जम्मा हुँदै थिए। BSB BSB: They led Jesus away to the high priest, and all the chief priests, elders, and scribes assembled.
54 UDB पत्रुसले येशूलाई टाढैबाट पछ्याई रहेका थिए। प्रधान पुजारी बस्ने घरको आँगनमा गए, र प्रधान पुजारीको घरको पहरेदारहरूसँगै तिनी बसे। तिनले आगो तापेर आफूलाई न्यानो बनाउँदै थिए। BSB BSB: Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the officers and warmed himself by the fire.
55 UDB मुख्य पुूजारीहरू र यहूदी सभाका सदस्यहरूले येशूलाई मृत्युदण्ड दिन मजबूत हुने किसिमको उहाँ विरूद्धको प्रमाणहरू खोज्दै थिए। अधिकारीहरूले उहाँलाई मृत्युदण्ड दिन आवश्यक पर्ने त्यस्तो कुनै प्रमाण तिनीहरूले भट्टाउन सकेनन्। BSB BSB: Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but they did not find any.
56 UDB अरू धेरै मानिसहरूले येशूको बारेमा झुटा बोले तर तिनीहरूले भनेका कुराहरू एक-अर्कामा मेल खाएनन्। BSB BSB: For many bore false witness against Jesus, but their testimony was inconsistent.
57 UDB अन्तमा, कोही खडा भए र यसो भन्दै उहाँलाई झुटाो दोष लगाए, BSB BSB: Then some men stood up and testified falsely against Him:
58 UDB “जब उसले यसो भन्यो तब हामीले उसका कुरा सुन्यौं, ‘मानिसले बनाएको यो मन्दिरलाई म नष्ट गर्नेछु र त्यसपछि अरू कसैको मद्धतविना नै तीन दिनभित्र म अर्को मन्दिर बनाउनेछु।’” BSB BSB: “We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this man-made temple, and in three days I will build another that is made without hands.’”
59 UDB तर यी मानिसहरूमध्ये कसैले भनेको कुरा पनि तिनीहरूमध्ये अरूहरूले भनेका कुरासँग मेल खाएन। BSB BSB: But even their testimony was inconsistent.
62 UDB येशूले भन्नुभयो, “म हुँ। अझ बढी, तिमीहरूले म, मानिसको पुत्रलाई सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरसँगै बसेर राज्य गरेको देख्नेछौ। तिमीहरूले मलाई आकासमा बादलहरूमा तल आउँदै गरेको पनि देख्नेछौ!” BSB BSB: “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
