1 UDB ମୁଁ, ପିତର, ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ଜଣେ ପ୍ରେରିତ, ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମନୋନୀତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏହି ପତ୍ର ଲେଖୁଅଛି I ପନ୍ତ, ଗାଲାତିଆ, କାପ୍ପାଦକିଆ, ଆସିଆ ଓ ବୀଥୂନିଆ ଅଞ୍ଚଳଗୁଡିକରେ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ପ୍ରବାସୀମାନଙ୍କ, ନିକଟକୁ ଲେଖୁଅଛି I BSB BSB: Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To the elect who are exiles of the Dispersion throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, chosen
2 UDB ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତା ଈଶ୍ୱର ଆପଣା ସଙ୍କଳ୍ପାନୁସାରେ ଆପଣା ଆତ୍ମା ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯୀଶୁଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାବହ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ରକ୍ତ ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଗ୍ରହଣୀୟ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମନୋନୀତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି I ଈଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରଚୁର ଦୟା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରନ୍ତୁ, ଓ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ବସବାସ କରାଉନ୍ତୁ I BSB BSB: according to the foreknowledge of God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by His blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
3 UDB ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯୀଶୁଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ପିତା ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଶଂସା ହେଉ! ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟାଳୁ ହେବା ସକାଶୁ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥାନର ଆଶା ଦେଉଥିବା ଏକ ନୂତନ ଜନ୍ମ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମହାଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ଦେଖାଇଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଈଶ୍ୱର ଯୀଶୁଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କୁ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜୀବିତ କରିଥିବାରୁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନୂତନ ଜୀବନ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେଉ I BSB BSB: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 UDB ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ସଞ୍ଚିତ ଅକ୍ଷୟ ଅଜର ବିଷୟ, ପାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you,
5 UDB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମହା ଶକ୍ତିରେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ହେଉଅଛ I ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଇହକାଳର ଶେଷ ସମୟରେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୁପେ ଶୟତାନର ଶକ୍ତିରୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ରଖୁଅଛନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: who through faith are shielded by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 UDB ଏଥିରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରୁଅଛ, ତଥାପି ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ପାଇଁ ନାନା ପରୀକ୍ଷା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦୁଃଖଭୋଗ କରିବା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ହୁଏ I ସେହି ପରୀକ୍ଷା ଦେଇ ଗତି କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଈଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁମତି ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେପରି ଅଗ୍ନି ଦ୍ୱାରା ବହୁମୁଲ୍ୟ ବସ୍ତୁର ଶୁଦ୍ଧତା ପରୀକ୍ଷିତ ହୁଏ I ସେପରି ଏହି ପରୀକ୍ଷା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅବଶ୍ୟକ ଅଟେ I BSB BSB: In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in various trials
7 UDB ଯେପରି ଅଗ୍ନି ଦ୍ୱାରା ପରୀକ୍ଷିତ କ୍ଷୟଣୀୟ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପରୀକ୍ଷାସିଦ୍ଧ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ, ତାହା ଯୀଶୁଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେବା ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରଶଂସା, ଗୌରବ ଓ ସମ୍ଭ୍ରମର କାରଣ ହେବ I BSB BSB: so that the proven character of your faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
8 UDB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ନ ଦେଖି ପ୍ରେମ କରୁଅଛ, ପୁଣି, ଏବେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ନ ଦେଖିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରୁଅଛ; BSB BSB: Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
9 UDB କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଅଛ, ଈଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାପସବୁରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ଦେଉଅଛନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: now that you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
10 UDB ବହୁ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଭାବବାଦୀମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନିରୂପିତ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ବିଷୟରେ ଭାବବାଣୀ ପ୍ରକାଶ କଲେ, ପୁଣି, ସେହି ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ଯତ୍ନ ସହକାରେ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ ଓ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କଲେ I BSB BSB: Concerning this salvation, the prophets who foretold the grace to come to you searched and investigated carefully,
11 UDB ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ଦୁଃଖଭୋଗ ଓ ତତ୍ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥାନର ଗୌରବ ବିଷୟରେ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ପ୍ରମାଣଦାତା ଯେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ୟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ଆତ୍ମା, ସେ କେଉଁ କାଳକୁ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ସେମାନେ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କଲେ I BSB BSB: trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.
12 UDB ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ସେମାନେ ଯେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣାର ସେବା ନ କରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସେବା କରୁଥିଲେ, ଏହା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା, ଆଉ, ସେହି ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରୁ ପ୍ରେରିତ ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାଙ୍କ ଶକ୍ତିରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସୁସମାଚାର ପ୍ରଚାରକମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇ ଦିଆଯାଇଅଛି; ସେହି ସବୁ ବିଷୟ ଦୂତମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, when they foretold the things now announced by those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.
13 UDB ଅତଏବ, ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞା ପାଳନ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମନରୂପ କଟି ବନ୍ଧନ କରି ସଚେତନ ଥାଅ, ମୋହର ଭାବ ଏହି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମନକୁ ସୃଙ୍ଖଳିତ କର, ପୁଣି, ଯୀଶୁଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେବା ସମୟରେ ଯେଉଁ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ, ସେଥିରେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ଭରସା ରଖ I BSB BSB: Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober-minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
14 UDB ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗୀୟ ପିତାଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାବହ ହେବା ଉଚିତ୍ ଯେପରି ଏହି ପୃଥିବୀରେ ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ଆପଣା ପିତାମାନଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାବହ ହୋଇଥା'ନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସତ୍ୟ ବିଷୟକ ପୂର୍ବ ଅଜ୍ଞାନତା ସମୟର କୁଅଭିଳାଷର ଅନୁରୂପୀ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ I BSB BSB: As obedient children, do not conform to the passions of your former ignorance.
15 UDB ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆହ୍ୱାନକର୍ତ୍ତା ଯେପରି ପବିତ୍ର, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆଜ୍ଞାବହ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ସମସ୍ତ ଆଚରଣରେ ସେହିପରି ପବିତ୍ର ହୁଅ I BSB BSB: But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do,
16 UDB ଯେଣୁ ପବିତ୍ର ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରରେ ଲେଖାଅଛି, "ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପବିତ୍ର ହୁଅ, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ପବିତ୍ର I" BSB BSB: for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
17 UDB ଆଉ ଯେ ମୁଖାପେକ୍ଷା ନ କରି ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକର କର୍ମାନୁସାରେ ବିଚାର କରନ୍ତି, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଯଦି ପିତା ବୋଲି ସମ୍ବୋଧନ କରୁଅଛ, ତେବେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣାର ପ୍ରବାସକାଳ ଭୟ ସହକାରେ କ୍ଷେପଣ କର I BSB BSB: Since you call on a Father who judges each one’s work impartially, conduct yourselves in reverent fear during your stay as foreigners.
18 UDB ଯେଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ପରମ୍ପରାଗତ ନିରର୍ଥକ ଆଚାର ବ୍ୟବହାରରୁ ରୂପା କି ସୁନା ପରି କ୍ଷୟଣୀୟ ବସ୍ତୁ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ I BSB BSB: For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers,
19 UDB ବରଂ ଯାହା ଯିହୁଦୀ ଯାଜକମାନେ ବଳିଦାନ କରନ୍ତି ଏପରି ଏକ ନିଖୁନ୍ତ ଓ ନିଷ୍କଳଙ୍କ ମେଷଶାବକ ସଦୃଶ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ରକ୍ତରେ ଈଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କ୍ରୟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot.
21 UDB ଯେଉଁ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ସେହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହେତୁରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଅଛ, ଯେଉଁ ଈଶ୍ୱର ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଉଠାଇ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି I ଏଣୁ ଈଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ଓ ଭରସାର ସ୍ଥାନ ଅଟନ୍ତି, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ମହାନ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିବେ I BSB BSB: Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him; and so your faith and hope are in God.
22 UDB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସତ୍ୟର ଆଜ୍ଞାବହ ହୋଇ ନିଷ୍କପଟ ଭ୍ରାତୃପ୍ରେମ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଆତ୍ମାକୁ ଶୁଚି କରିଥିବାରୁ ଅନ୍ତର ସହ ଏକାଗ୍ରଭାବେ ପରସ୍ପରକୁ ପ୍ରେମ କର I BSB BSB: Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.
23 UDB ଏହା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିବେଦନ କରେ, ଯେହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନୁତନୀକୃତ ହୋଇଅଛ I ଯେଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ୍ଷୟଣୀୟ ବୀଜରୁ ନୁହେଁ, ବରଂ ଅକ୍ଷୟ ବୀଜରୁ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ତୁମେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଥିବା ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ୍ତ ଓ ନିତ୍ୟସ୍ଥାୟୀ ବାକ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ନୂତନୀକୃତ ହୋଇଅଛ I BSB BSB: For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
25 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳସ୍ଥାୟୀ।" ଏହା ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ବିଷୟକ ସେହି ସୁସମାଚାରର ବାକ୍ୟ, ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରଚାରିତ ହୋଇଅଛି I BSB BSB: but the word of the Lord stands forever.” And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.
