2 UDB ସେ ତା' ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ଜଣାଇ ତା'ର ଜାଣତରେ ଏହି ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ବିକ୍ରୀର କିଛି ଟଙ୍କା ନିଜ ପାଖରେ ରଖିଲା ଓ ବାକି ଟଙ୍କା ଆଣି ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କ ଚରଣରେ ରଖିଲା। BSB BSB: With his wife’s full knowledge, he kept back some of the proceeds for himself, but brought a portion and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
4 UDB ସେ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି କ'ଣ ବିକ୍ରୀ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ନଥିଲା? ବିକ୍ରୀ ପରେ ସେ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିର ମୁଲ୍ୟ କ'ଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଅଧିକାରରେ ନ ଥିଲା? ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମନ ଭିତରେ ଏପରି ଖରାପ କଥା କାହିଁକି ଭାବିଲ? ଏହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ମିଥ୍ୟା କହିଲ ନାହିଁ ବରଂ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ମିଥ୍ୟା କହିଲ।" BSB BSB: Did it not belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? How could you conceive such a deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God!”
5 UDB ଏକଥା ଶୁଣିବା ମାତ୍ରେ ହନନୀୟ ଭୂମିରେ ପଡ଼ି ମରିଗଲା। ଏ କଥା ଶୁଣି ଲୋକମାନେ ବହୁତ ଡ଼ରିଗଲେ। BSB BSB: On hearing these words, Ananias fell down and died. And great fear came over all who heard what had happened.
6 UDB ତା’ପରେ ଯୁବକମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଲୁଗାରେ ଗୁଡ଼େଇ ନେଇ ବାହାରକୁ ଚ଼ାଲିଗଲେ ଓ କବର ଦେଇଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: Then the young men stepped forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him.
7 UDB ପ୍ରାୟ ତିନିଘଣ୍ଟା ବିତିଗଲା ପରେ ତା' ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଶଫୀରା ସେଠାରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲା। ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଏହି ଘଟଣା ବିଷୟରେ କିଛି ମଧ୍ୟ ଜାଣି ନ ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: About three hours later his wife also came in, unaware of what had happened.
8 UDB ପିତର ତାହାକୁ ହନନୀୟ ଆଣି ଥିବା ଟଙ୍କା ଦେଖାଇ ପଚ଼ାରିଲେ," ମୋତେ କୁହ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜମି ସେତିକି ଦାମ୍ରେ ବିକ୍ରୀ କରିଛ କି?" ଶଫୀରା ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲା, "ହଁ, ସେତିକିରେ ବିକ୍ରୀ କରିଛୁ I BSB BSB: “Tell me,” said Peter, “is this the price you and your husband got for the land?” “Yes,” she answered, “that is the price.”
9 UDB ତା’ପରେ ପିତର କହିଲେ, "ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦୁହେଁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମାକୁ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରିବା ପାଇଁ କାହିଁକି ଏକମତ ହେଲ? ଦେଖ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସ୍ୱାମୀକୁ କବର ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଦ୍ୱାର ପାଖରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଗଲେଣି। ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେମାନେ ବାହାରକୁ ଟାଣି ନେଇଯିବେ।" BSB BSB: “How could you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord?” Peter replied. “Look, the feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”
10 UDB ଶଫୀରା ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଦତଲେ ପଡ଼ି ମରିଗଲା। ତା'ପରେ ଯୁବକମାନେ ଭିତରକୁ ଆସିଲେ ଓ ତାହାକୁ ମୃତ ଦେଖି ବାହାରକୁ ନେଇଗଲେ ଓ ତାହାର ସ୍ୱାମୀ ପାଖରେ ତାହାକୁ କବର ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: At that instant she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
12 UDB ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବହୁତଗୁଡ଼ିଏ ଚ଼ିହ୍ନ ଓ ଅଦ୍ଭୁତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟମାନ କରାଗଲା। ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ନିୟମିତ ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କ ମଣ୍ଡପରେ ଏକାଠି ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people, and with one accord the believers gathered together in Solomon’s Colonnade.
13 UDB ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଏକତ୍ର ଠିଆ ହେବାପାଇଁ କୌଣସି ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ହେଲେ ସାହାସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସବୁଲୋକ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କର ଓ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀମାନଙ୍କର ଖୁବ୍ ପ୍ରଶଂସା କଲେ। BSB BSB: Although the people regarded them highly, no one else dared to join them.
14 UDB ଉଭୟ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲେ। ସେମାନେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀଙ୍କ ଦଳରେ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: Yet more and more believers were brought to the Lord—large numbers of both men and women.
15 UDB ତେଣୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ରୋଗୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ରାସ୍ତାକୁ ଖଟିଆରେ ଓ ଚଟିଆରେ ବୋହି ଆଣିଲେ, ଯେପରିକି ପିତରଙ୍କ ଛାଇ ଯିବା ଆସିବା ସମୟରେ ରୋଗୀମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପଡ଼ି ପାରିବ। ଏହାଦ୍ୱାରା ସେହି ରୋଗୀମାନେ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହୋଇପାରିବେ। BSB BSB: As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.
16 UDB ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ଆଖପାଖ ସହରଗୁଡ଼ିକରୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ରୋଗୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଭୂତମାନଙ୍କଦ୍ୱାରା ଅକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହେଉଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ଆସୁଥିଲେ ଓ ସମସ୍ତେ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହୋଇ ଯାଉଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: Crowds also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those tormented by unclean spirits, and all of them were healed.
17 UDB ମହାଯାଜକ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସବୁ ବନ୍ଧୁମାନେ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ସାଦ୍ଦୁକୀ ଦଳ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଈର୍ଷାନ୍ୱିତ ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: Then the high priest and all his associates, who belonged to the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They went out
18 UDB ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି କାରାଗାରରେ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ମନ୍ଦିରର ରକ୍ଷକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: and arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.
19 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଜଣେ ଦୂତ ରାତିରେ ସେହି କାରାଗାରର କବାଟ ଖୋଲି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାହାର କରି ଦେଲେ ଓ କହିଲେ, BSB BSB: But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out, saying,
20 UDB "ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଯାଇ, ଠିଆ ହୁଅ ଓ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଦତ୍ତ ଏହି ନୂତନ ଜୀବନ ବିଷୟରେ କୁହ।" BSB BSB: “Go, stand in the temple courts and tell the people the full message of this new life.”
21 UDB ଏହା ଶୁଣି ପ୍ରେରିତମାନେ ସକାଳୁ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଯାଇ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ I ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ମହାଯାଜକ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗୀମାନେ ଆସି ମହାସଭା ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ, ପୁଣି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଣିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ କାରାଗାରାକୁ ରକ୍ଷକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେରଣ କଲେ I BSB BSB: At daybreak the apostles entered the temple courts as they had been told and began to teach the people. When the high priest and his associates arrived, they convened the Sanhedrin—the full assembly of the elders of Israel—and sent to the jail for the apostles.
22 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ସେହି ଲୋକମାନେ କାରାଗାରରେ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ନପାଇ ଫେରିଗଲେ ଓ ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ଖବର ଦେଲେ I BSB BSB: But on arriving at the jail, the officers did not find them there. So they returned with the report:
23 UDB "ଆମ୍ଭେ କାରାଗାରରେ ଭଲ ଭାବରେ ତାଲା ପଡ଼ିଥିବାର ଦେଖିଲୁ ଓ ଜଗୁଆଳୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦ୍ୱାର ପାଖରେ ଠିଆ ହେବାର ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଖିଲୁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେତେବେଳେ କାରାଗାର ଖୋଲି ଦେଖିଲୁ, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେଠାରେ କେହି ନ ଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: “We found the jail securely locked, with the guards posted at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside.”
24 UDB ଏକଥା ଶୁଣି ମନ୍ଦିରର ସେନାପତି ଓ ମହାଯାଜକ ବିବ୍ରତ ହୋଇପଡ଼ିଲେ ଓ "ଏହାର ପରିଣାମ କ'ଣ ହେବ, ଏହା ଭାବି ସମସ୍ତେ ହତବୁଦ୍ଧି ହେଲେ।" BSB BSB: When the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests heard this account, they were perplexed as to what was happening.
25 UDB ଠିକ୍ ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଜଣେ ଆସି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, "ଶୁଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ କାରାଗାରରେ ବନ୍ଦୀକରି ରଖିଥିଲେ ସେମାନେ ମନ୍ଦିର ପରିସରରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Then someone came in and announced, “Look, the men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people!”
26 UDB ତେଣୁ ସେନାପତି ତାଙ୍କ କର୍ମଚାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ନେଇ ମନ୍ଦିର ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲେ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ମହାସଭା ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିଲେ I ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜୋର ଜବରଦସ୍ତ କରି ଆଣିଲେ ନାହିଁ I କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଭୟ କଲେ, ଯଦି ସେମାନେ ଏପରି କରିବେ, ତେବେ ଲୋକମାନେ ହୁଏତ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଥର ଫୋପାଡ଼ିବେ। BSB BSB: At that point, the captain went with the officers and brought the apostles—but not by force, for fear the people would stone them.
27 UDB ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭିତରକୁ ଆଣି ମହାସଭାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ କରି ଠିଆ କରାଇଲେ। ତା’ପରେ ମହାଯାଜକ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ ପଚ଼ାରିଲେ I BSB BSB: They brought them in and made them stand before the Sanhedrin, where the high priest interrogated them.
28 UDB ମହାଯାଜକ କହିଲେ, "ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ନ ଦେବାପାଇଁ କଠୋର ଆଦେଶ ଦେଇଥିଲୁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅମାନ୍ୟ କରି ନିଜ ନିଜ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରି ଦେଇଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏ ଲୋକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ଦୋଷ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଲଦି ଦେବାପାଇଁ ଚ଼ାହୁଁଛ!" BSB BSB: “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us responsible for this man’s blood.”
29 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ପିତର ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, "ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞା ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ମାନିବୁ! BSB BSB: But Peter and the other apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men.
30 UDB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ କ୍ରୁଶରେ ଝୁଲେଇ ହତ୍ୟା କରିଛ କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ପିତୃପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ଉଠାଇଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had killed by hanging Him on a tree.
31 UDB ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଉନ୍ନତ କଲେ I ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଉଦ୍ଧାରକର୍ତ୍ତା ଓ ପ୍ରଭୁ କଲେ I ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ଓ ଜୀବନ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ଓ ପାପ କ୍ଷମା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେ ଅନୁମତି ଦେଲେ I BSB BSB: God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior, in order to grant repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
32 UDB ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଯୀଶୁ କରିଥିବା ଘଟଣାଗୁଡ଼ିକର ସାକ୍ଷୀ। ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମା ମଧ୍ୟ ଏ ଘଟଣାଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସତ୍ୟ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରମାଣ ଦିଅନ୍ତି। ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ନିଜର ଆଜ୍ଞା ମାନୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି। ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହାର ସାକ୍ଷୀ।" BSB BSB: We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
33 UDB ଯିହୁଦୀୟ ନେତାମାନେ ଏକଥା ଶୁଣି ଭୀଷଣ ରାଗିଗଲେ ଓ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ୟା କରିବାପାଇଁ ଯୋଜନା କଲେ। BSB BSB: When the Council members heard this, they were enraged, and they resolved to put the apostles to death.
34 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ସେହି ସଭାର ଗମଲୀୟେଲ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ଆଇନ ଶିକ୍ଷକ ଥିଲେ I ସେ ଜଣେ ଫାରୂଶୀ, ଓ ଆଇନ ଶିକ୍ଷକ ପୁଣି ଯିହୁଦୀୟ ମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ମାନ ଦେଉଥିଲେ I ସେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ରକ୍ଷକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ କିଛି ସମୟ ପାଇଁ ବାହାରକୁ ନେବା ପାଇଁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a short time.
35 UDB ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାହାରକୁ ନେଲା ପରେ ସେ ସଭାର ସଦସ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ," ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ କ'ଣ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଛ ସେ ବିଷୟରେ ଚିନ୍ତାକର। BSB BSB: “Men of Israel,” he said, “consider carefully what you are about to do to these men.
36 UDB କିଛି ବର୍ଷ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଯିହୁଦା ନାମକ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ସରକାର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହ କଲେ ଓ ନିଜକୁ ବହୁତ ବଡ଼ ବୋଲି ଭାବୁଥିଲେ। ପ୍ରାୟ ଚ଼ାରିଶହ ଲୋକ ତାହାର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତାକୁ ମାରିଦିଆଗଲା। ପରେ ତା'ର ସମସ୍ତ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହୋଇ ପଳାଇଗଲେ। ସେମାନଙ୍କ କୌଣସି ଯୋଜନା ସଫଳ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ I BSB BSB: Some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men joined him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing.
38 UDB ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଛି, ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର କୌଣସି କ୍ଷତି କର ନାହିଁ। ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏକୁଟିଆ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅ। ଯଦି ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ବା ଏହି କାମ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ହୋଇଥାଏ, ତେବେ ତାହା ବିଫଳ ହେବ। BSB BSB: So in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone. Let them go! For if their purpose or endeavor is of human origin, it will fail.
39 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ଏହା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ହୋଇଥାଏ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କାମ ବନ୍ଦ କରିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିଜକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଲଢ଼ିବାର ଦେଖିବ। ସଭାର ସଦସ୍ୟମାନେ ଗମଲୀୟେଲ କଥାରେ ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ I BSB BSB: But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God.”
40 UDB ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭିତରକୁ ଡ଼ାକି ନେଇ ପ୍ରହାର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମନ୍ଦିରର ରକ୍ଷକକୁ କହିଲେ। ସେମାନେ ସେହିପରି କଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ କିଛି ନ କହିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। ତା'ପରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: At this, they yielded to Gamaliel. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.
