BSB BSB: At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus
UDB ତାଙ୍କ କର୍ମଚାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଏ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ସେହି ଡୁବକ ଯୋହନ, ସେ ପୁଣିଥରେ ଜୀବନ ପାଇ ଉଠିଛି, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ଏହିସବୁ ଅଲୌକିକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିପାରୁଛି| BSB BSB: and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”
UDB ହେରୋଦ ଏହି ସବୁ ଭାବିବାର କାରଣ ହେଲା, ସେ ଆପଣା ଭାଇ ଫିଲିପ୍ପ ବଞ୍ଚି ଥାଉ ଥାଉ ତାଙ୍କ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ହେରୋଦିଆଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହ କରିଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ଯୋହନ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହୁଥିଲେ ଯେ, ସେ ଯାହା କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି ତାହା ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧୀ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଅଟେ| ଏଣୁ ହେରୋଦ ଆପଣା ସୈନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇ ତାଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି ଶିକୁଳିରେ ବାନ୍ଧି ବନ୍ଦିଶାଳାରେ ରଖିଥିଲେ| BSB BSB: Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,
UDB ହେରୋଦ ଯୋହନଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ୟା କରିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଥିଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ସେ ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କରୁଥିଲେ, କାରଣ ଲୋକେ ଯୋହନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଭାବବାଦୀ ବୋଲି ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରୁଥିଲେ| BSB BSB: because John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
UDB ଦିନେ ହେରୋଦ ତାଙ୍କ ଜନ୍ମ ଦିନରେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏକ ମହା ଭୋଜ ଦେଲେ, ଏବଂ ହେରୋଦୀଆଙ୍କ ଝିଅ ଆମନ୍ତ୍ରିତ ଅତିଥିମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ନୃତ୍ୟ ପରିବେଷଣ କଲେ, ଓ ତାର ନୃତ୍ୟରେ ହେରୋଦ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଖୁସି ହୋଇଗଲେ| BSB BSB: Although Herod wanted to kill John, he was afraid of the people, because they regarded John as a prophet.
UDB ଏଣୁ ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ମାଗିବ ତାହା ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷୀ ରଖି ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ସେ ପ୍ରତିଶ୍ରୁତି ଦେଲେ| BSB BSB: On Herod’s birthday, however, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod
UDB ତେଣୁ ହେରୋଦୀଆଙ୍କ ଝିଅ ଯାଇ କ’ଣ ମାଗିବ ତାହା ଆପଣା ମାଁ କୁ ପଚାରିଲା| ପୁଣି ଆପଣା ମାଁର କୁଶିକ୍ଷାରେ ପଡ଼ି ହେରୋଦ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ବାପ୍ତିଜକ ଯୋହନଙ୍କ କଟା ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଆଣି ଏକ ଥାଳିରେ ମୋତେ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ| ଯଦ୍ଵାରା ସେ ମରି ଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ମୁଁ ଜାଣିବି| BSB BSB: so much that he promised with an oath to give to her whatever she asked.
UDB ଏହା ଶୁଣି ହେରୋଦ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦୁଃଖିତ ହେଲେ, କାରଣ ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ମାଗିବ ତାହା ତାହାକୁ ଦିଆଯିବ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରତିଶ୍ରୁତି ଦେଇଥିଲେ| କିନ୍ତୁ ଅତିଥିମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା ଭଙ୍ଗ କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା ନ କରି ତାହା ଆଣି ତାକୁ ଦେବାକୁ ସେ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ| BSB BSB: Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.”
UDB ଏଣୁ ସେ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇ ବାପ୍ତିଜକ ଯୋହନଙ୍କ ମସ୍ତକ କଟାଇଲେ| BSB BSB: The king was grieved, but because of his oaths and his guests, he ordered that her wish be granted
UDB ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଯାଇ ଯୋହନଙ୍କ ଛେଦନ କରି ତାହା ଏକ ଥାଳିରେ ଅଣାଇ ସେହି ଝିଅକୁ ଦିଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାହା ନେଇ ଆପଣା ମାଁ କୁ ଦେଲା| BSB BSB: and sent to have John beheaded in the prison.
UDB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯୋହନଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ବନ୍ଦୀଶାଳାକୁ ଯାଇ ତାଙ୍କ ମୃତ ଶରୀରକୁ ନେଇ କବର ଦେଲେ ପୁଣି ଯାଇ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ସବୁ କଥା ଜଣାଇଲେ| BSB BSB: John’s head was brought in on a platter and presented to the girl, who carried it to her mother.
UDB ପୁଣି ଯୀଶୁ ଏହି ସମ୍ବାଦ ଶୁଣିଲା ପରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ନୌକାରେ ଚଢ଼ି ଗାଲିଲୀ ହ୍ରଦର ଅପର ପାରିର ଏକ ନିର୍ଜନ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ବାହାରି ଗଲେ| BSB BSB: Then John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. And they went and informed Jesus.
UDB ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁ କୂଳରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲା ବେଳକୁ ସେଠାରେ ବହୁ ସଂଖ୍ୟକ ଲୋକ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରି ଥିବାର ଦେଖି ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟାରେ ବିଗଳିତ ହୋଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆସିଥିବା ରୋଗୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ କଲେ| BSB BSB: When Jesus heard about John, He withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. But the crowds found out about it and followed Him on foot from the towns.
UDB ଆଉ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ସମୟରେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଏ ସ୍ଥାନ ନିର୍ଜନ ପୁଣି ବେଳ ତ ଗଢ଼ି ଗଲାଣି, ଏଣୁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହନ୍ତୁ ଯେ, ସେମାନେ ଯାଇ ପାଖ ଗ୍ରାମ ଗୁଡିକରୁ ନିଜ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ଖାଦ୍ୟ କିଣନ୍ତୁ| BSB BSB: When He stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them and healed their sick.
UDB ମାତ୍ର ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଖାଦ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଯିବା ପ୍ରୟୋଜନ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖାଇବାକୁ ଦିଅ| BSB BSB: When evening came, the disciples came to Him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the hour is already late. Dismiss the crowds so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”
UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ତ କେବଳ ପାଞ୍ଚଟି ରୋଟୀ ଓ ଦୁଇଟି ମାଛ ଅଛି| BSB BSB: “They do not need to go away,” Jesus replied. “You give them something to eat.”
UDB ଏଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତାହା ସବୁ ମୋ’ ପାଖକୁ ଆଣ| BSB BSB: “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
BSB BSB: “Bring them here to Me,” Jesus said.
UDB ପୁଣି ଲୋକମାନେ ପରିତୃପ୍ତ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଖାଇଲେ, ଓ ଖାଇ ସାରିବା ପରେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ଭଙ୍ଗା ଭଙ୍ଗି ବଳକା ରୋଟୀ ଖଣ୍ଡ ସବୁକୁ ଗୋଟାଇ ବାର ଟୋକେଇ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲେ| BSB BSB: And He directed the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He spoke a blessing. Then He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
UDB ଆଉ ପ୍ରାୟ ପାଞ୍ଚ ହଜାର ପୁରୁଷ ସେଦିନ ଖାଇଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ ପିଲାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଣା ଯାଇ ନ ଥିଲା| BSB BSB: They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
UDB ଏହି ଘଟଣା ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଏକ ନୌକାରେ ଚଢ଼ି ଗାଲିଲୀ ହ୍ରଦର ଅପର ପାରିକି ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ସେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଓ ସେ ନିଜେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘରକୁ ବିଦାୟ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେଠାରେ ରହିଲେ| BSB BSB: About five thousand men were fed, besides women and children.
I BSB BSB: Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds.
UDB ଆଉ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ହ୍ରଦ କୂଳରୁ ଅନେକ ବାଟ ଗଲା ପରେ ସେମାନେ ବିପଦରେ ପଡିଲେ, କାରଣ ଝଡ଼ ପବନ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳ ଦିଗରୁ ପ୍ରବଳ ବେଗରେ ବୋହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା, ପୁଣି ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ପାଲକୁ ବୁଲାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କଲେ| କାରଣ ଝଡ଼ ପବନ ବହି ସମୁଦ୍ରରେ ବଡ ବଡ ଲହରୀ ଉଠିଲା ଓ ସେହି ନୌକାକୁ ଆଗକୁ ଯିବାକୁ ଦେଲା ନାହିଁ| BSB BSB: After He had dismissed them, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone,
UDB ଆଉ ରାତ୍ରିର ପ୍ରାୟ ଚାରିଟା ସମୟରେ ଯୀଶୁ ପାଣି ଉପରେ ଚାଲି ଚାଲି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ| BSB BSB: but the boat was already far from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
UDB ଯେତେବେଳେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପାଣି ଉପରେ ଚାଲି ଚାଲି ତାଙ୍କ ଆଡ଼କୁ ଆସୁଥିବାର ଦେଖି, ତାଙ୍କୁ ଭୂତ ଭାବି ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଭୟଭୀତ ହୋଇ ଚିତ୍କାର କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ| BSB BSB: During the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went out to them, walking on the sea.
UDB ମାତ୍ର ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ସାହସ ଧର, ଏ ତ ମୁଁ, ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ| BSB BSB: When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and cried out in fear.
UDB ତହିଁରେ ପିତର ତାଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଯଦି ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ଆପଣ ହୋଇ ଥାଆନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ପାଣି ଉପରେ ଚାଲି ଚାଲି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ମୋତେ ଆଜ୍ଞା କରନ୍ତୁ| BSB BSB: But Jesus spoke up at once: “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
BSB BSB: But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
UDB ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁ ଓ ପିତର ଦୁହେଁ ନୌକାରେ ଚଢ଼ିଲା ମାତ୍ରେ ଝଡ଼ ପବନ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବନ୍ଦ ହେଲା| BSB BSB: Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and took hold of Peter. “You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”
BSB BSB: And when they had climbed back into the boat, the wind died down.
UDB ସେହି ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ଲୋକେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଚିହ୍ନି ପାରି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ଵାରା ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ରୋଗୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଣିବା ପାଇଁ ପରସ୍ପର ନିକଟକୁ ଖବର ପଠାଇଲେ| BSB BSB: When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.
UDB ଆଉ ରୋଗୀମାନେ ଯେପରି କେବଳ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଲୁଗା ଧଡ଼ିର ଧାରକୁ ଛୁଇଁପାରନ୍ତି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ବିନତି କଲେ, ଏବଂ ଯେତେ ଜଣ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଛୁଇଁଲେ, ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଲୁଗାର ଧଡିକୁ ଛୁଇଁଲେ, ସେ ସମସ୍ତେ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେଲେ| BSB BSB: And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding region. People brought all the sick to Him
BSB BSB: and begged Him just to let them touch the fringe of His cloak. And all who touched Him were healed.
