1 UDB ତା'ହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସର୍ବଦା ପାପ କରି ଚ଼ାଲି ଥିବା ଯାହା ପାଇଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଆହୁରି ଅଧିକ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିବେ। BSB BSB: What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase?
2 UDB ନା! ଆମେ ଆମର ପୁରୁଣା ପାପ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଜୀବନ ପ୍ରତି ମରିଯାଇଛୁ। ତା'ହେଲେ ଆମେ ଆଉ ପାପ କରି ଚ଼ାଲିପାରିବା କି? BSB BSB: Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?
3 UDB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ’ଣ ମନେ ରଖିଛ କି ଯେତେବେଳେ ଆମେ ସମସ୍ତେ ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ହେଲୁ, ସେତେବେଳେ ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ଅଂଶ ହୋଇଗଲୁ? ଆମ୍ଭର ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ହେବାରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ମଧ୍ୟ ଭାଗୀଦାର ହେଲୁ। BSB BSB: Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 UDB ଅତଏବ ଆମେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ହେଲୁ, ଆମେ ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ଭିତରେ ସମାଧି ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ତାହାଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ଭାଗୀଦାର ହେଲୁ। ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ସହିତ କବରସ୍ଥ ହେବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ନୂତନ ଜୀବନ ଯାପନ କରିବା। ପରମପିତାଙ୍କର ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଶକ୍ତି ଦ୍ୱାରା ଯେପରି ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ପୁନର୍ଜୀବିତ ହେଲେ, ସେହିଭଳି ଏହା ଘଟିଲା। BSB BSB: We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life.
5 UDB ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ମୃତ୍ୟୁବରଣ କଲେ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇଛୁ। ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ଜୀବିତ ହେବା ଭଳି ଆମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ଜୀବିତ ହୋଇ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ହେବା। BSB BSB: For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection.
6 UDB ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭର ପୂର୍ବ ଜୀବନ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ସହିତ କ୍ରୁଶ ଉପରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ମୃତ ହୋଇ ଯାଇଛି। ଆମ୍ଭର ପାପପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଶରୀର ଆମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ରାଜତ୍ୱ ନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଏପରି ଘଟିଲା। ତା'ପରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ପାପର ଦାସ ହେବୁ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.
7 UDB ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ମରିଯାଇଛି, ସେ ପାପର ଦାସତ୍ୱରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଯାଇଛି। BSB BSB: For anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
8 UDB ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯଦି ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ସହିତ ମୃତ୍ୟୁବରଣ କରିଛୁ, ତା'ହେଲେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଜୀବିତ ରହିବା। BSB BSB: Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him.
9 UDB ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ଉଠିଥିଲେ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ ସେ ପୁନଃ ମରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ଏବେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ତା’ଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଆଉ କୌଣସି କତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.
10 UDB ଯେତେବେଳେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଭୋଗ କଲେ, ସେ ପାପର ଶକ୍ତିକୁ ଥରେ ମାତ୍ର ହରାଇବା ପାଇଁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଭୋଗ କଲେ, ଏହା ସବୁ ଦିନ ପାଇଁ ଯଥେଷ୍ଟ ଥିଲା। ଏବେ ସେ ଯେଉଁ ଜୀବନ ଯାପନ କରନ୍ତି ତାହା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ କରନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.
11 UDB ସେହି ଭଳି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପାପର ଶକ୍ତି ବିଷୟରେ ନିଜକୁ ମୃତ ବୋଲି ଭାବିବା ଉଚ଼ିତ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଜୀବିତ ଲୋକ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଜୀବିତ ବୋଲି ଅନୁଭବ କର। BSB BSB: So you too must count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ପାପ ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଶରୀରକୁ ରାଜତ୍ତ୍ୱ ନ କରୁ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପାପପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସ୍ୱଭାବ ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ଶାସିତ ନ ହୁଅ। BSB BSB: Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires.
13 UDB ପାପର ସେବା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶରୀର ଅଙ୍ଗଗୁଡ଼ିକକୁ ଅନୁମତି ଦିଅ ନାହିଁ। ମନ୍ଦ କାମ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଶରୀରକୁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କର ନାହିଁ। ତା'ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତେ ନିଜକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କର। ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମରିଥିଲେ ଓ ଏବେ ଜୀବିତ ଅଛନ୍ତି ସେ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଭଳି ହୁଅ। ନିଜ ଶରୀରର ଅଙ୍ଗଗୁଡ଼ିକକୁ ଭଲ କାମ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କର। BSB BSB: Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.
14 UDB ପାପ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସ୍ୱାମୀ ହେବ ନାହିଁ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ବନ୍ଧନରେ ନାହଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହରେ ଜୀବିତ ଅଛ। BSB BSB: For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
15 UDB ତା'ହେଲେ ଆମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ କରିବା ଉଚ଼ିତ? ଆମ୍ଭେ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ଅଧିନ ନୋହୁଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହର ଅଧିନ ବୋଲି କ’ଣ ପାପ କରି ଚ଼ାଲିଥିବା? ଅବଶ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ! BSB BSB: What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Certainly not!
16 UDB ଏହା ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଭାବରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣ ଯେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦାସ ଭଳି ନିଜକୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କର, ସେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ସେହି ଲୋକର ଦାସ ଅଟ। ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମାନିବ ସେ ହେଉଛି ତୁମ୍ଭର ମାଲିକ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାପର ଚ଼ାକର ହୋଇରହିବ ଅବା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ମାନିବ। ପାପ ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଆଣି ଦିଏ। କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ମାନିଲେ, ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ବୋଲି ଗଣିତ ହୁଅ। BSB BSB: Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness?
17 UDB ଅତୀତରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାପର ଦାସ ଥିଲ, ପାପ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣ କରି ରଖିଥିଲା। କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ଧନ୍ୟବାଦ ଦିଅ, ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦିଆଗଲା ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତ ହୃଦୟର ସହିତ ପାଳନ କଲ। BSB BSB: But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed.
18 UDB ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପାପରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରାଗଲା ଓ ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଧାର୍ମିକତାର ଦାସ ହୋଇଅଛ। BSB BSB: You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
19 UDB ଲୋକେ ଜାଣିଥିବା ଗୋଟିଏ ଉଦାହରଣ ଦେଇ ମୁଁ ଏ କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବୁଝାଉଛି। ଏହାକୁ ବୁଝିବା କଷ୍ଟକର ହୋଇଥିବା କାରଣରୁ ମୁଁ ଏହି ଭଳି ବୁଝାଉଛି। ଅତୀତରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିଜ ଶରୀରର ଅଙ୍ଗଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ପାପର ଦାସ ହେବାକୁ ଓ ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମରେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିଥିଲ। ଫଳ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଜୀବନ ଯାପନ କରୁଥିଲ। ଠିକ୍ ସେହି ଭଳି ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶରୀର ଅଙ୍ଗ ଗୁଡ଼ିକକୁ ଭଲ କାମ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସମର୍ପଣ କର। ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେବଳ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ବଞ୍ଚିବ। BSB BSB: I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.
20 UDB ଅତୀତରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାପର ଦାସ ଥିଲ ଓ ଯାହା ଉତ୍ତମ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରିତ କରି ନ ଥିଲା। BSB BSB: For when you were slaves to sin, you were free of obligation to righteousness.
21 UDB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମନ୍ଦ କାମ କରୁଥିଲ। ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେଭଳି କର୍ମ ପାଇଁ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ। ସେ କାମଗୁଡ଼ିକ କ’ଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କଲା? ନା, ସେ କର୍ମ ଗୁଡ଼ିକ କେବଳ ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଆଣିଥାଏ। BSB BSB: What fruit did you reap at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? The outcome of those things is death.
22 UDB କିନ୍ତୁ ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାପରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଦାସ ଓ ଏହା କେବଳ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବନ ଆଣି ଦେବ। ତା'ପରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାକାଳ ପାଇଁ ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ପାଇବ। BSB BSB: But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the fruit you reap leads to holiness, and the outcome is eternal life.
23 UDB ପାପର ସ୍ୱାଭାବିକ ପରିଣତି ମୃତ୍ୟୁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ଦାନ ଆମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରଭୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ସହଭାଗିତାରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଦିଏ। BSB BSB: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
