4 ULB ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାର ଆପଣା ଶରୀର ଉପରେ କ୍ଷମତା ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ସ୍ୱାମୀର ଅଛି; ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସ୍ୱାମୀର ଆପଣା ଶରୀର ଉପରେ କ୍ଷମତା ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାର ଅଛି। BSB BSB: The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife.
5 ULB ପରସ୍ପରକୁ ବଞ୍ଚିତ ନ କର; କେଜାଣି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅବକାଶ ପାଇବା ପାଇଁ ଉଭୟ ଏକ ପରାମର୍ଶ ହୋଇ ଅଳ୍ପ କାଳ ପୃଥକ୍ ରହି ପାର; ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ ଦମନ ଅଭାବ ହେତୁ ଶୟତାନ ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରୀକ୍ଷା ନ କରେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଏକତ୍ର ହୁଅ। BSB BSB: Do not deprive each other, except by mutual consent and for a time, so you may devote yourselves to prayer. 8 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ଅବିବାହିତ ଓ ବିଧବାମାନଙ୍କୁ କହେ, ସେମାନେ ମୋ' ପରି ରହିଲେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଭଲ। BSB BSB: Now to the unmarried and widows I say this: It is good for them to remain unmarried, as I am.
9 ULB ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି ସେମାନେ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ ଦମନ କରି ନ ପାରନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ବିବାହ କରନ୍ତୁ କାରଣ କାମାନଳରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ ହେବା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବିବାହ କରିବା ଭଲ। BSB BSB: But if they cannot control themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
10 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ବିବାହିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦିଏ, ମୁଁ ନୁହେଁ, ମାତ୍ର ପ୍ରଭୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦିଅନ୍ତି, ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଆପଣା ସ୍ୱାମୀଠାରୁ ପୃଥକ୍ ନ ହେଉ, BSB BSB: To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.
11 ULB (କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ସେ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ସେ ଆଉ ବିବାହ ନ କରୁ, ଅଥବା ଆପଣା ସ୍ୱାମୀ ସହିତ ମିଳିତ ହେଉ), ପୁଣି, ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଆପଣା ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ ନ କରୁ। BSB BSB: But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.
12 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ କହେ (ପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ), ଯଦି କୌଣସି ଭାଇର ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସିନୀ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଥାଏ, ଆଉ ସେ ତା'ର ସହିତ ବାସ କରିବାକୁ ସମ୍ମତ ହୁଏ, ତାହାହେଲେ ସେ ତାକୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ ନ କରୁ। BSB BSB: To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.
13 ULB ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଥାଏ, ଆଉ ସେ ତା'ର ସହିତ ବାସ କରିବାକୁ ସମ୍ମତ ହୁଏ, ସେ ଆପଣା ସ୍ୱାମୀକୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ ନ କରୁ। BSB BSB: And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him.
14 ULB କାରଣ ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ବିଶ୍ବାସୀ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ହେତୁ ପବିତ୍ର କରାଯାଇଅଛି, ଆଉ ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସିନୀ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ବିଶ୍ବାସୀ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ହେତୁ ପବିତ୍ର କରାଯାଇଅଛି; ତାହା ନ ହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ଅପବିତ୍ର ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଏବେ ସେମାନେ ପବିତ୍ର। BSB BSB: For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his believing wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
15 ULB ତଥାପି ଯଦି ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ପୃଥକ ହେବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ପୃଥକ୍ ହେଉ; ଏପରି ସ୍ଥଳେ ସେହି ଭାଇ ବା ଭଉଣୀ ଆବଦ୍ଧ ନୁହଁନ୍ତି; ଈଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ଆଚରଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace.
16 ULB ଯେଣୁ ହେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ଆପଣା ସ୍ୱାମୀର ପରିତ୍ରାଣର କାରଣ ହେବ, ଏହା କ'ଣ ଜାଣ? କିମ୍ବା ହେ ସ୍ୱାମୀ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ଆପଣା ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାର ପରିତ୍ରାଣର କାରଣ ହେବ, ଏହା କ'ଣ ଜାଣ? BSB BSB: How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?
17 ULB କେବଳ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯାହାକୁ ଯେପରି ଦାନ ବିତରଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଈଶ୍ୱର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ସେହିପରି ଆଚରଣ କରୁ। ମୁଁ ସମସ୍ତ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀରେ ଏହି ପ୍ରକାର ଆଦେଶ ଦିଏ। BSB BSB: Regardless, each one should lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him and to which God has called him. 18 ULB କେହି କି ସୁନ୍ନତ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଆହୂତ ହୋଇଅଛି? ସେ ଅସୁନ୍ନତି ପରି ଦେଖାଯିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା ନ କରୁ। କେହି କି ଅସୁନ୍ନତ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଆହୂତ ହୋଇଅଛି? ସେ ସୁନ୍ନତି ନ ହେଉ। BSB BSB: Was a man already circumcised when he was called? He should not become uncircumcised. Was a man still uncircumcised when called? He should not be circumcised.
20 ULB ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଯେଉଁ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଆହୂତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ସେ ସେଥିରେ ଥାଉ। BSB BSB: Each one should remain in the situation he was in when he was called.
21 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଦାସ ହୋଇ ଆହୂତ ହୋଇଅଛ? ଚିନ୍ତା କର ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ଯେବେ ମୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ପାର, ତେବେ ବରଂ ସୁଯୋଗ ଅବଲମ୍ବନ କର। BSB BSB: Were you a slave when you were called? Do not let it concern you—but if you can gain your freedom, take the opportunity.
22 ULB କାରଣ ଯେ ଦାସ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ଆହୂତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ସେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମୁକ୍ତ ଲୋକ; ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଯେ ମୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଅାହୂତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ସେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ଦାସ। BSB BSB: For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman. Conversely, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.
23 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିଶେଷ ମୂଲ୍ୟରେ କିଣାଯାଇଅଛ, ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ଦାସ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.
24 ULB ହେ ଭାଇମାନେ, ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଯେଉଁ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଆହୂତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ସେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସହଭାଗିତାରେ ସେହି ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଥାଉ। BSB BSB: Brothers, each one should remain in the situation he was in when God called him.
25 ULB କୁମାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ କୌଣସି ଆଜ୍ଞା ପାଇ ନାହିଁ; କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସପାତ୍ର ହୋଇ ନିଜର ମତ ଦେଉଅଛି। BSB BSB: Now about virgins, I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy.
26 ULB ମୁଁ ମନେ କରେ ଯେ, ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଯେପରି ଅଛି, ଆସନ୍ନ ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦଶା ହେତୁ ସେହିପରି ରହିବା ଭଲ। BSB BSB: Because of the present crisis, I think it is good for a man to remain as he is.
27 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ସହିତ ଆବଦ୍ଧ? ତେବେ ମୁକ୍ତ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାଠାରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ? ତେବେ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ପାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: Are you committed to a wife? Do not seek to be released. Are you free of commitment? Do not look for a wife.
28 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବିବାହ କରିଅଛ, ତାହାହେଲେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ପାପ କରି ନାହଁ; ଆଉ ଯଦି କୁମାରୀ ବିବାହ କରିଅଛି, ତାହାହେଲେ ସେ ପାପ କରି ନାହିଁ। ତଥାପି ଏପରି ଲୋକେ ଶରୀରରେ କ୍ଳେଶ ଭୋଗିବେ ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ସେଥିରୁ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଅ, ଏହା ମୋହର ଇଚ୍ଛା। BSB BSB: But if you do marry, you have not sinned. And if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.
29 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ହେ ଭାଇମାନେ, ମୋ' କଥାର ଭାବ ଏହି, ସମୟ ଅତ୍ୟଳ୍ପ, ଏଣୁ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଅଛି, ସେମାନେ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ନ ଥିଲା ପରି ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ। BSB BSB: What I am saying, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none;
30 ULB ଆଉ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ରୋଦନ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ରୋଦନ ନ କରିବା ଲୋକ ପରି ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ; ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଆନନ୍ଦ ନ କରିବା ଲୋକ ପରି ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ; ଯେଉଁମାନେ କ୍ରୟ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଅନଧିକାରୀ ଲୋକ ପରି ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ; BSB BSB: those who weep, as if they did not; those who are joyful, as if they were not; those who make a purchase, as if they had nothing;
31 ULB ଆଉ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଜଗତର ବିଷୟ ଭୋଗ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଭୋଗ ନ କରିବା ଲୋକ ପରି ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ; କାରଣ ଏହି ଜଗତର ରୂପ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତିତ ହେଉଅଛି। BSB BSB: and those who use the things of this world, as if not dependent on them. For this world in its present form is passing away.
32 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ଚିନ୍ତିତ ନ ହୁଅ, ଏହା ମୋହର ଇଚ୍ଛା। ଯେ ଅବିବାହିତ, ସେ କିପରି ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତୋଷପାତ୍ର ହେବ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ଘେନି ଚିନ୍ତିତ ହୁଏ; BSB BSB: I want you to be free from concern. The unmarried man is concerned about the work of the Lord, how he can please the Lord.
33 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେ ବିବାହିତ, ସେ କିପରି ଆପଣା ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାର ସନ୍ତୋଷପାତ୍ର ହେବ, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ସଂସାର ବିଷୟ ଘେନି ଚିନ୍ତିତ ହୁଏ, ଆଉ ତା'ର ମନ ବିଭକ୍ତ ହୁଏ। BSB BSB: But the married man is concerned about the affairs of this world, how he can please his wife,
34 ULB ଅବିବାହିତ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ କୁମାରୀ ଶରୀର ଓ ଆତ୍ମାରେ ପବିତ୍ର ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ଘେନି ଚିନ୍ତିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେ ବିବାହିତା, ସେ କିପରି ଆପଣା ସ୍ୱାମୀର ସନ୍ତୋଷପାତ୍ର ହେବ, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସଂସାର ବିଷୟ ଘେନି ଚିନ୍ତିତ ହୁଏ। BSB BSB: and his interests are divided. The unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the work of the Lord, how she can be holy in both body and spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world, how she can please her husband.
35 ULB ଏହି କଥା ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିଜ ହିତ ନିମନ୍ତେ କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଧନରେ ଆବଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ କହୁ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ଶିଷ୍ଟାଚରଣ କରି ଏକାଗ୍ର ମନରେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ନିବିଷ୍ଟ ଥାଅ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ କହୁଅଛି। BSB BSB: I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but in order to promote proper decorum and undivided devotion to the Lord.
36 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ, ଯଦି କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ବିବାହ ପାଇଁ ନିଜ ବାଗ୍ଦତ୍ତା କନ୍ୟାର ଯୌବନାବସ୍ଥା ଗତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ଆଉ ସେ ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ଅନୁଚିତ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରୁଅଛି ବୋଲି ମନେ କରେ, ତେବେ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ବୋଧ କଲେ ସେ ଯାହା ଇଚ୍ଛା, ତାହା କରୁ; ସେଥିରେ ପାପ ନାହିଁ; ସେମାନେ ବିବାହ କରନ୍ତୁ। BSB BSB: However, if someone thinks he is acting inappropriately toward his betrothed, and if she is beyond her youth and they ought to marry, let him do as he wishes; he is not sinning; they should get married.
37 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେ ହୃଦୟରେ ସ୍ଥିର ଥାଏ, ଆଉ ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ବୋଧ ନ କରେ, ପୁଣି, ଯାହାର ଆପଣା ଇଚ୍ଛାନୁସାରେ କରିବାକୁ ଅଧିକାର ଥାଏ, ଆଉ ଯେ ଆପଣା କନ୍ୟାକୁ କୁମାରୀ ରଖିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ହୃଦୟରେ ସ୍ଥିର କରିଥାଏ, ସେ ଭଲ କରେ। BSB BSB: But the man who is firmly established in his heart and under no constraint, with control over his will and resolve in his heart not to marry the virgin, he will do well.
38 ULB ଏଣୁ ଯେ ଆପଣା କୁମାରୀ କନ୍ୟାକୁ ବିବାହ ଦିଏ, ସେ ଭଲ କରେ, ପୁଣି, ଯେ ବିବାହ ନ ଦିଏ, ସେ ଆହୁରି ଭଲ କରେ। BSB BSB: So then, he who marries the virgin does well, but he who does not marry her does even better.
39 ULB ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଆବଦ୍ଧ ଥାଏ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ସ୍ୱାମୀ ମୃତ, ତେବେ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ଯାହାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା, ତାହାକୁ ବିବାହ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସ୍ୱାଧୀନ। BSB BSB: A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, as long as he belongs to the Lord.
40 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ସେହିପରି ରହିଲେ ଅଧିକ ସୁଖୀ ହେବ, ଏହା ମୋହର ମତ, ଆଉ ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମା ପାଇଅଛି ବୋଲି ମନେ କରେ। BSB BSB: In my judgment, however, she is happier if she remains as she is. And I think that I too have the Spirit of God.
