1 ULB ପୁଣି, ପାଉଲ ମହାସଭା ପ୍ରତି ସ୍ଥିର ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଚାହିଁ କହିଲେ, ଭାଇମାନେ, ମୁଁ ଏହି ଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସୁବିବେକରେ ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଆଚାର ବ୍ୟବହାର କରି ଆସିଅଛି। BSB BSB: Paul looked directly at the Sanhedrin and said, “Brothers, I have conducted myself before God in all good conscience to this day.”
2 ULB ସେଥିରେ ମହାଯାଜକ ହାନାନ ତାଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ମୁଖରେ ଆଘାତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: At this, the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth.
3 ULB ସେତେବେଳେ ପାଉଲ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ହେ ଶୁକ୍ଳୀକୃତ ପ୍ରାଚୀର, ଈଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆଘାତ କରିବେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏକାବେଳେ ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଅନୁସାରେ ମୋହର ବିଚାର କରିବାକୁ ବସି ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ମୋତେ ଆଘାତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ କି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଉଅଛ? BSB BSB: Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit here to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck.”
4 ULB ସେଥିରେ ନିକଟରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ କହିଲେ, ତୁ କି ଈଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କୁ ନିନ୍ଦା କରୁଅଛୁ? BSB BSB: But those standing nearby said, “How dare you insult the high priest of God!”
5 ULB ପୁଣି, ପାଉଲ କହିଲେ, ଭାଇମାନେ, ସେ ମହାଯାଜକ ବୋଲି ମୁଁ ଜାଣି ନ ଥିଲି; କାରଣ ଲିଖିତ ଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷଙ୍କୁ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେବ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: “Brothers,” Paul replied, “I was not aware that he was the high priest, for it is written: ‘Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.’”
6 ULB ପାଉଲ ଏକ ଭାଗ ସାଦ୍ଦୂକୀ ଆଉ ଅପର ଭାଗ ଫାରୂଶୀ ବୋଲି ଜାଣି ମହାସଭାରେ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ କହିଲେ, ଭାଇମାନେ, ମୁଁ ଜଣେ ଫାରୂଶୀ ଓ ଫାରୂଶୀର ପୁତ୍ର; ପୁଣି, ଏହି ଭରସା, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥାନ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ମୁଁ ବିଚାରିତ ହେଉଅଛି। BSB BSB: Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. It is because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.”
7 ULB ସେ ଏହି କଥା କହିବାରୁ ଫାରୂଶୀ ଓ ସାଦ୍ଦୂକୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିବାଦ, ଓ ସଭାରେ ଦଳଭେଦ ଘଟିଲା। BSB BSB: As soon as he had said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.
8 ULB କାରଣ ସାଦ୍ଦୂକୀମାନେ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥାନ, ଦୂତ ଅବା ଆତ୍ମା ନାହାଁନ୍ତି ବୋଲି କହନ୍ତି, କିନ୍ତୁ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ଉଭୟ ସ୍ୱୀକାର କରନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: For the Sadducees say that there is neither a resurrection nor angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.
9 ULB ଏଥିରେ ମହା କୋଳାହଳ ଘଟିଲା, ଆଉ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନଙ୍କ ଦଳର କେତେକ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଉଠି ଯୁକ୍ତିତର୍କ କରି କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି ଲୋକଠାରେ କୌଣସି ଦୋଷ ଦେଖୁ ନାହୁଁ, କେଜାଣି କୌଣସି ଆତ୍ମା କିମ୍ବା ଦୂତ ତାହା ସାଙ୍ଗରେ କଥା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: A great clamor arose, and some scribes from the party of the Pharisees got up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”
10 ULB ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ମହା ବିବାଦ ଘଟନ୍ତେ, କାଳେ ପାଉଲ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଖଣ୍ଡବିଖଣ୍ଡ ହେବେ, ଏହି ଭୟରେ ସହସ୍ର ସେନାପତି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବଳପୂର୍ବକ ଗଡ଼ ଭିତରକୁ ନେଇ ଆସିବା ପାଇଁ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯିବାକୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: The dispute grew so violent that the commander was afraid they would tear Paul to pieces. He ordered the soldiers to go down and remove him by force and bring him into the barracks.
11 ULB ପରରାତ୍ରରେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ କହିଲେ, ସାହସ ଧର, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେପରି ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଆମ୍ଭ ବିଷୟରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଇଅଛ, ସେହିପରି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ରୋମରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେବାକୁ ହେବ। BSB BSB: The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so also you must testify in Rome.”
12 ULB ଦିନ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ଦଳବଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ବଧ ନ କରିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ, ଅନ୍ନଜଳ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କଲେ ଅଭିଶପ୍ତ ହେବେ ବୋଲି, ଶପଥରେ ନିଜ ନିଜକୁ ଆବଦ୍ଧ କଲେ। BSB BSB: When daylight came, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.
13 ULB ଏହି ଷଡ଼ଯନ୍ତ୍ର କରିଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ, ଚାଳିଶ ଜଣରୁ ଅଧିକ ଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: More than forty of them were involved in this plot.
14 ULB ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ବଧ ନ କରିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ କିଛି ଖାଇବୁ ନାହିଁ ବୋଲି ନିଜ ନିଜକୁ ଦୃଢ଼ ଶପଥରେ ଆବଦ୍ଧ କରିଅଛୁ। BSB BSB: They went to the chief priests and elders and said, “We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul.
15 ULB ଅତଏବ ଆପଣମାନେ ଅଧିକ ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ରୂପେ ତାହାର ବିଚାର କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଛଳନା କରି ତାହାକୁ ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏବେ ମହାସଭା ସହିତ ସହସ୍ର ସେନାପତିଙ୍କୁ ନିବେଦନ କରନ୍ତୁ। ସେ ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିବା ପୂର୍ବେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରିବାକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ଅଛୁ। BSB BSB: Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him down to you on the pretext of examining his case more carefully. We are ready to kill him on the way.”
16 ULB କିନ୍ତୁ ପାଉଲଙ୍କ ଭଣଜା ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଛକି ରହିବା କଥା ଶୁଣି ଆସି ଗଡ଼ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲା। BSB BSB: But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the plot, he went into the barracks and told Paul.
17 ULB ସେଥିରେ ପାଉଲ ଜଣେ ଶତ ସେନାପତିଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, ଏହି ଯୁବାଙ୍କୁ ସହସ୍ର ସେନାପତିଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇ ଯାଆନ୍ତୁ, କାରଣ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହାର କିଛି କଥା ଅଛି। BSB BSB: Then Paul called one of the centurions and said, “Take this young man to the commander; he has something to tell him.”
18 ULB ତେଣୁ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସହସ୍ରସେନାପତିଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇଯାଇ କହିଲେ, ବନ୍ଦୀ ପାଉଲ ଆପଣା ନିକଟକୁ ମୋତେ ଡାକି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଏହି ଯୁବାକୁ ନେଇ ଆସିବା ପାଇଁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କଲା, ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ କହିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହାର କିଛି କଥା ଅଛି। BSB BSB: So the centurion took him to the commander and said, “Paul the prisoner sent and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”
19 ULB ସହସ୍ର ସେନାପତି ତାହାକୁ ହାତ ଧରି ତାହାକୁ ନିର୍ଜନକୁ ନେଇଯାଇ ପଚାରିଲେ, ମୋତେ ଜଣାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କ'ଣ ଅଛି? BSB BSB: The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside, and asked, “What do you need to tell me?”
20 ULB ସେ କହିଲା, ପାଉଲଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଅଧିକ ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ରୂପେ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରିବା ଛଳରେ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କାଲି ମହାସଭା ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଏକମତ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: He answered, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul to the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of acquiring more information about him.
21 ULB ଏଣୁ ଆପଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କଥାରେ ସମ୍ମତ ହେବେ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ ନ କରିବା ଯାଏ ଅନ୍ନଜଳ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କଲେ ଅଭିଶପ୍ତ ହେବେ ବୋଲି ନିଜ ନିଜକୁ ଶପଥରେ ଆବଦ୍ଧ କରି ଚାଳିଶ ଜଣରୁ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଛକି ରହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ଏବେ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅନୁମତି ପାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରି ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହୋଇ ରହିଅଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Do not let them persuade you, because more than forty men are waiting to ambush him. They have bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him; they are ready now, awaiting your consent.”
22 ULB ସେଥିରେ ସହସ୍ର ସେନାପତି ସେହି ଯୁବାକୁ ବିଦାୟ ଦେଇ ତାହାକୁ ଆଦେଶ କଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ମୋତେ ଜଣାଇଅଛ, ତାହା କାହାକୁ କହିବ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: So the commander dismissed the young man and instructed him, “Do not tell anyone that you have reported this to me.”
23 ULB ପରେ ସେ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ଶତ ସେନାପତିଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, କାଇସରିୟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ରାତ୍ର ତିନି ଘଟିକା ସମୟରେ ଦୁଇ ଶହ ସୈନ୍ୟ, ସତୁରି ଜଣ ଅଶ୍ଵାରୋହୀ ଓ ଦୁଇ ଶହ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛାଧାରୀଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର। BSB BSB: Then he called two of his centurions and said, “Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea in the third hour of the night.
24 ULB ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଯେପରି ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ବାହନ ଉପରେ ବସାଇ ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା ଫେଲୀକ୍ସ୍ଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ନେଇଯାଆନ୍ତି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତାହା ଆୟୋଜନ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: Provide mounts for Paul to take him safely to Governor Felix.”
25 ULB ଆଉ, ସେ ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଚିଠି ଲେଖିଲେ, BSB BSB: And he wrote the following letter:
26 ULB ମହାମହିମ ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା ଫେଲିକ୍ସ୍ଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଲାଉଦିୟ ଲୂସିୟାଙ୍କର ନମସ୍କାର। BSB BSB: Claudius Lysias, To His Excellency, Governor Felix: Greetings.
27 ULB ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ଏହି ଲୋକକୁ ଧରି ବଧ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଥିଵା ସମୟରେ ମୁଁ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଯାଇ ସେ ଜଣେ ରୋମୀୟ ବୋଲି ଜାଣି ଏହାକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କଲି। BSB BSB: This man was seized by the Jews, and they were about to kill him when I came with my troops to rescue him. For I had learned that he is a Roman citizen,
28 ULB କେଉଁ କାରଣରୁ ସେମାନେ ଏହାର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଦୋଷାରୋପ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ଜାଣିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରି ମୁଁ ଏହାକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମହାସଭା ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇଗଲି। BSB BSB: and since I wanted to understand their charges against him, I brought him down to their Sanhedrin.
29 ULB ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ବା ବନ୍ଧନ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ବିଷୟ ଏହାର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରା ନ ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ବିବାଦ ବିଷୟରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରାଯାଉଅଛି ବୋଲି ମୁଁ ବୁଝିଲି। BSB BSB: I found that the accusation involved questions about their own law, but there was no charge worthy of death or imprisonment.
30 ULB ଏହି ଲୋକ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଷଡ଼ଯନ୍ତ୍ର ହେବ ବୋଲି ମୋତେ ଖବର ଦିଆଯିବାରୁ ମୁଁ ଏହାକୁ ଅବିଳମ୍ବରେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠେଇଲି; ଏହାର ଅଭିଯୋଗକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ, ଏହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେବାକୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲି। BSB BSB: When I was informed that there was a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once. I also instructed his accusers to present their case against him before you.
31 ULB ସେଥିରେ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଆଦେଶାନୁସାରେ ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ରାତ୍ରିକାଳରେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଆନ୍ତିପାତ୍ରିକୁ ଆଣିଲେ। BSB BSB: So the soldiers followed their orders and brought Paul by night to Antipatris.
32 ULB ପରଦିନ ସେମାନେ ଅଶ୍ୱାରୋହୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦେଇ ଗଡ଼କୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ। BSB BSB: The next day they returned to the barracks and let the horsemen go on with him.
34 ULB ସେ ଚିଠିଟି ପଢ଼ିଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ, ସେ କେଉଁ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଲୋକ ବୋଲି ପଚାରିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଯେ କିଲିକିଆର ଲୋକ, ଏହା ଜାଣି ସେ କହିଲେ, BSB BSB: The governor read the letter and asked what province Paul was from. Learning that he was from Cilicia,
35 ULB ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅଭିଯୋଗକାରୀମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କଥା ଶୁଣିବା। ଆଉ ସେ ହେରୋଦଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାସାଦରେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ରଖିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ। BSB BSB: he said, “I will hear your case when your accusers arrive.” Then he ordered that Paul be kept under guard in Herod’s Praetorium.
