2 ULB କାରଣ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱସ୍ଥ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଅଂଶ କଅଣ ଓ ଉପରିସ୍ଥ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଅଧିକାର କଅଣ? BSB BSB: For what is the allotment of God from above, or the heritage from the Almighty on high?
3 ULB ତାହା କି ଅଧାର୍ମିକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ବିପଦ ଓ ଅଧର୍ମାଚାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୁର୍ଗତି ନୁହେଁ? BSB BSB: Does not disaster come to the unjust and calamity to the workers of iniquity?
4 ULB ସେ କି ମୋହର ମାର୍ଗସବୁ ଦେଖନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ ଓ ମୋହର ପାଦଗତି ଗଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ? BSB BSB: Does He not see my ways and count my every step?
5 ULB ଯଦି ମୁଁ ଅସାରତାରେ ଗତାୟାତ କରିଥାଏ ଓ ମୋହର ପାଦ ପ୍ରବଞ୍ଚନା-ପଥରେ ବ୍ୟଗ୍ର ହୋଇଥାଏ; BSB BSB: If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has rushed to deceit,
6 ULB ତେବେ ମୁଁ ଧର୍ମ ନିକ୍ତିରେ ତୌଲା ଯାଏ, ତହିଁରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋହର ସରଳତା ଜାଣି ପାରିବେ। BSB BSB: let God weigh me with honest scales, that He may know my integrity.
7 ULB ଯଦି ମୋହର ପାଦ ବିପଥରେ ଯାଇଥାଏ ଓ ମୋହର ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ମୋ’ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଅନୁସାରେ ଚାଲିଥାଏ ଓ ଯଦି ମୋ’ ହସ୍ତରେ କୌଣସି କଳଙ୍କ ଲାଗିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: If my steps have turned from the path, if my heart has followed my eyes, or if impurity has stuck to my hands,
8 ULB ତେବେ ମୁଁ ବୁଣେ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଭୋଗ କରୁ; ମୋ’ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରର ଶସ୍ୟ ମୂଳୋତ୍ପାଟିତ ହେଉ। BSB BSB: then may another eat what I have sown, and may my crops be uprooted.
9 ULB ଯଦି ମୋହର ହୃଦୟ କୌଣସି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପ୍ରତି ଲୁବ୍ଧ ହୋଇଥାଏ ଓ ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀର ଦ୍ୱାର ନିକଟରେ ଲୁଚି ବସିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: If my heart has been enticed by my neighbor’s wife, or I have lurked at his door,
10 ULB ତେବେ ମୋ’ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଅନ୍ୟର ଚକି ପେଷୁ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଭୋଗ କରନ୍ତୁ। BSB BSB: then may my own wife grind grain for another, and may other men sleep with her.
11 ULB କାରଣ ତାହା ଗୁରୁତର ଦୋଷ; ଆଉ, ତାହା ବିଚାରକର୍ତ୍ତୃଗଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦଣ୍ଡନୀୟ ଅପରାଧ; BSB BSB: For that would be a heinous crime, an iniquity to be judged.
12 ULB କାରଣ ତାହା ସର୍ବନାଶକ ଗ୍ରାସକାରୀ ଅଗ୍ନି ଓ ମୋ’ ସର୍ବସ୍ୱର ମୂଳୋତ୍ପାଟିତ କରନ୍ତା। BSB BSB: For it is a fire that burns down to Abaddon; it would root out my entire harvest.
13 ULB ମୋ’ ଦାସ କି ଦାସୀ ମୋ’ ସଙ୍ଗେ ବିରୋଧ କଲେ, ଯଦି ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଗୁହାରି ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: If I have rejected the cause of my manservant or maidservant when they made a complaint against me,
14 ULB ତେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଉଠିଲେ, ମୁଁ କଅଣ କରିବି? ଓ ସେ ବିଚାର କଲେ, ମୁଁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବି? BSB BSB: what will I do when God rises to judge? How will I answer when called to account?
15 ULB ଯେ ମୋତେ ଗର୍ଭରେ ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ, ସେ କି ତାହାକୁ ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ? ଓ ଏକ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କି ଗର୍ଭରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଢ଼ି ନାହାନ୍ତି? BSB BSB: Did not He who made me in the womb also make them? Did not the same One form us in the womb?
16 ULB ଯଦି ମୁଁ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବାଞ୍ଛିତ ବିଷୟରୁ ଅଟକାଇଥାଏ, ଅବା ବିଧବାର ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ମ୍ଳାନ କରିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: If I have denied the desires of the poor or allowed the widow’s eyes to fail,
17 ULB ଅଥବା ଆପଣାର ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଏକା ଖାଇଥାଏ ଓ ପିତୃହୀନ ତହିଁରୁ ଖାଇ ନ ଥାଏ; BSB BSB: if I have eaten my morsel alone, not sharing it with the fatherless—
18 ULB (ମାତ୍ର ପିତା ନିକଟରେ ବଢ଼ିଲା ପରି ସେ ମୋହର ବାଲ୍ୟାବସ୍ଥାରୁ ମୋ’ ନିକଟରେ ବଢ଼ିଲା ଓ ମୋ’ ଜନ୍ମଠାରୁ ମୁଁ ବିଧବାର ପଥଦର୍ଶକ ହୋଇଅଛି।) BSB BSB: though from my youth I reared him as would a father, and from my mother’s womb I guided the widow—
19 ULB ମୁଁ କାହାକୁ ବସ୍ତ୍ରାଭାବରେ ମୃତକଳ୍ପ, ଅବା ଦୀନହୀନକୁ ଉଲଙ୍ଗ ଦେଖିଲେ, BSB BSB: if I have seen one perish for lack of clothing, or a needy man without a cloak,

21 ULB ମୁଁ ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ନିଜ ଉପକାରୀକୁ ଦେଖି ଯଦି ପିତୃହୀନ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ଉଠାଇଥାଏ; BSB BSB: if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless because I saw that I had support in the gate,
22 ULB ତେବେ ମୋ’ ସ୍କନ୍ଧ ସନ୍ଧିସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଖସି ପଡ଼ୁ ଓ ମୋ’ ବାହୁ ଅସ୍ଥିରୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗିଯାଉ। BSB BSB: then may my arm fall from my shoulder and be torn from its socket.
23 ULB କାରଣ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ବିପଦ ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତି ଭୟାନକ ଥିଲା ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱ ସକାଶୁ ମୁଁ କିଛି କରି ପାରିଲି ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: For calamity from God terrifies me, and His splendor I cannot overpower.
24 ULB ଯଦି ମୁଁ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣକୁ ଆଶାଭୂମି କରିଥାଏ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋହର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ବୋଲି ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣକୁ କହିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: If I have put my trust in gold or called pure gold my security,
25 ULB ମୋହର ସମ୍ପଦ ଅତିଶୟ ହେବାରୁ ଓ ମୋହର ହସ୍ତ ବହୁତ ଲାଭ କରିବାରୁ ଯଦି ମୁଁ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: if I have rejoiced in my great wealth because my hand had gained so much,
26 ULB ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଦୀପ୍ତି ଦେବା ବେଳେ ଓ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ଜ୍ୟୋସ୍ନାରେ ଗତି କରିବା ବେଳେ ଯଦି ମୁଁ ତହିଁ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: if I have beheld the sun in its radiance or the moon moving in splendor,
27 ULB ପୁଣି, ମୋହର ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଗୋପନରେ ପ୍ରଲୋଭିତ ହୋଇଥାଏ ଓ ମୋ’ ମୁଖ ମୋ’ ହସ୍ତକୁ ଚୁମ୍ବନ କରିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: so that my heart was secretly enticed and my hand threw a kiss from my mouth,
28 ULB ତେବେ ତାହା ହିଁ ବିଚାରକର୍ତ୍ତୃଗଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦଣ୍ଡନୀୟ ଅପରାଧ ହୁଅନ୍ତା; ପୁଣି, ମୁଁ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱବାସୀ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ମିଥ୍ୟାବାଦୀ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: this would also be an iniquity to be judged, for I would have denied God on high.
29 ULB ମୋ’ ଘୃଣାକାରୀର ବିନାଶରେ ଯଦି ମୁଁ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରିଥାଏ, ଅବା ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ତାହାର ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ପାଇବା ବେଳେ ଦର୍ପ କରିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: If I have rejoiced in my enemy’s ruin, or exulted when evil befell him—
30 ULB (ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେଇ ତାହାର ଜୀବନ ମାଗିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପାପ କରିବାକୁ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଦେଇ ନାହିଁ;) BSB BSB: I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking for his life with a curse—
31 ULB ମୋ’ ତମ୍ବୁସ୍ଥିତ ଲୋକେ କି କହି ନ ଥା’ନ୍ତି, ତାହାର ଦତ୍ତ ମାଂସରେ ଯେ ତୃପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ, ଏପରି ଜଣକୁ କିଏ ପାଇପାରେ? BSB BSB: if the men of my house have not said, ‘Who is there who has not had his fill?’—
32 ULB ବିଦେଶୀ ଦାଣ୍ଡରେ ରାତ୍ରି କ୍ଷେପଣ କଲା ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ପଥିକ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦ୍ୱାର ମୁକ୍ତ କଲି; BSB BSB: but no stranger had to lodge on the street, for my door has been open to the traveler—
33 ULB ଯଦି ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ବକ୍ଷସ୍ଥଳରେ ନିଜ ଅଧର୍ମ ଗୁପ୍ତ କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆଦମ ପରି ଆପଣା ଅପରାଧ ଢାଙ୍କିଥାଏ; BSB BSB: if I have covered my transgressions like Adam by hiding my guilt in my heart,
34 ULB ମହାଜନତାକୁ ଭୟ କରିବାରୁ ଓ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ତୁଚ୍ଛତା ମୋତେ ତ୍ରସ୍ତ କରିବାରୁ ଯଦି ମୁଁ ନୀରବ ହୋଇ ଦ୍ୱାର ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ନ ଥାଏ- BSB BSB: because I greatly feared the crowds and the contempt of the clans terrified me, so that I kept silent and would not go outside—
35 ULB ଆଃ, କେହି ଯଦି ମୋ’ କଥା ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଥା’ନ୍ତା! (ଏହି ଦେଖ ମୋହର ସ୍ୱାକ୍ଷର, ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ପରମେଶ୍ଵର ମୋତେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ;) ଓ ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତିବାଦୀ ମୋହର ଯେଉଁ ଦୋଷପତ୍ର ଲେଖିଅଛି, ତାହା ଯଦି ମୁଁ ପାଆନ୍ତି! 36 ULB ତେବେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ସ୍କନ୍ଧରେ ତାହା ବହନ୍ତି ଓ ମୁକୁଟ ପରି ତାହା ବାନ୍ଧନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Surely I would carry it on my shoulder and wear it like a crown.
37 ULB ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ପାଦଗତିର ସଂଖ୍ୟା ତାହାକୁ ଜଣାନ୍ତି; ଶାସକ ପରି ତାହାର ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଆନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: I would give account of all my steps; I would approach Him like a prince.)—

39 ULB ଯଦି ମୁଁ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ବିନା ତହିଁର ଫଳ ଭୋଗ କରିଥାଏ, ଅବା ତହିଁର ଅଧିକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣନାଶର କାରଣ ହୋଇଥାଏ; BSB BSB: if I have devoured its produce without payment or broken the spirit of its tenants,
40 ULB ତେବେ ଗହମ ବଦଳେ କଣ୍ଟକଲତା ଓ ଯବ ବଦଳେ ବିଷବୃକ୍ଷ ବଢ଼ୁ। ଆୟୁବଙ୍କ କଥା ସମାପ୍ତ ହେଲା। BSB BSB: then let briers grow instead of wheat and stinkweed instead of barley.” Thus conclude the words of Job.
