1 ULB ਸੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲ ਦੂਤ ਭੇਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਹਿਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ, ਰਾਜ ਮਿਸਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਖਾਣ ਵੀ ਭੇਜੇ। BSB BSB: Now Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters, to build a palace for him.
2 ULB ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅੱਤ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had highly exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.

4 ULB ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਇਹ ਸਨ- ਸ਼ੰਮੂਆ, ਸ਼ੋਬਾਬ, ਨਾਥਾਨ, ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ, BSB BSB: These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
5 ULB ਯਿਬਹਾਰ, ਅਲੀਸ਼ੂਆ, ਅਲਪਾਲਟ, BSB BSB: Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
6 ULB ਨੋਗਹ, ਨਫਗ, ਯਾਫੀਆ, BSB BSB: Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
7 ULB ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾਮਾ, ਬਅਲਯਾਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਫਾਲਟ। BSB BSB: Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8 ULB ਜਦੋਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲਿਸਤੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਲੱਭਣ ਨੂੰ ਆਏ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ BSB BSB: When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they all went in search of him; but David learned of this and went out to face them.
9 ULB ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਰਫਾਈਮ ਦੀ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: Now the Philistines had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim.
10 ULB ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, "ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ?" ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, "ਜਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।" BSB BSB: So David inquired of God, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go,” replied the LORD, “for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 ULB ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਅਲ ਪਰਾਸੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ, ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, "ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਟੁੱਟ ਪਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਅਲਪਰਾਸੀਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ।" BSB BSB: So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, God has burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place Baal-perazim.
12 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਛੱਡ ਗਏ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: There the Philistines abandoned their gods, and David ordered that they be burned in the fire.
13 ULB ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਫੇਰ ਉਸੇ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ, BSB BSB: Once again the Philistines raided the valley.
14 ULB ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, "ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰੱਖ਼ਤਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ, BSB BSB: So David again inquired of God, who answered him, “Do not march up after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.
15 ULB ਤਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੂੰ ਤੂਤ ਦੇ ਦਰੱਖ਼ਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਟਾਹਣੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰਨ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਯੁਧ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਹੈ।" BSB BSB: As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
16 ULB ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਬਓਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਜ਼ਰ ਤੱਕ ਮਾਰ-ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: So David did as God had commanded him, and they struck down the army of the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.
17 ULB ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: And David’s fame went out into every land, and the LORD caused all nations to fear him.
