1 ULB ਜਦ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਲੱਖ ਅੱਸੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਯੁਧ ਦੇ ਚੁਣਵੇਂ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਇੱਕਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਫੇਰ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੋੜ ਲੈਣ BSB BSB: When Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he mobilized the house of Judah and Benjamin—180,000 chosen warriors—to fight against Israel and restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 ULB ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸ਼ਮਆਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ BSB BSB: But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God:
3 ULB ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਆਖ ਕਿ BSB BSB: “Tell Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah and all the Israelites in Judah and Benjamin
4 ULB ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚੜਾਈ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੰਨ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: that this is what the LORD says: ‘You are not to go up and fight against your brothers. Each of you must return home, for this is My doing.’” So they listened to the words of the LORD and turned back from going against Jeroboam.

8 ULB ਗਥ, ਮਾਰੇਸ਼ਾਹ, ਜ਼ੀਫ਼, BSB BSB: Gath, Mareshah, Ziph,
9 ULB ਅਦੋਰਇਮ, ਲਿਕਸ਼, ਅਜ਼ੇਕਾਹ, BSB BSB: Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah,
10 ULB ਸਾਰਆਹ, ਅੱਯਾਲੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਣਾਏ BSB BSB: Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, the fortified cities in Judah and Benjamin.
11 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਕਰਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਸਦ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੈ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਰੱਖੇ BSB BSB: He strengthened their fortifications and put officers in them, with supplies of food, oil, and wine.
12 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਲੇ ਰਖਵਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: He also put shields and spears in all the cities and strengthened them greatly. So Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.
13 ULB ਤਾਂ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੀ ਸਰਹਦ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਗਏ BSB BSB: Moreover, the priests and Levites from all their districts throughout Israel stood with Rehoboam.
14 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਲੇਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਕੀਅਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਈ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ BSB BSB: For the Levites left their pasturelands and their possessions and went to Judah and Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had rejected them as priests of the LORD.
15 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਸਥਾਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਕਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਵੱਛਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕ ਮੁੱਕਰਰ ਕੀਤੇ BSB BSB: And Jeroboam appointed his own priests for the high places and for the goat demons and calf idols he had made.
16 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਲ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਚੜਾਉਣ BSB BSB: Those from every tribe of Israel who had set their hearts to seek the LORD their God followed the Levites to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
17 ULB ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਣਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। BSB BSB: So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah and supported Rehoboam son of Solomon for three years, because they walked for three years in the way of David and Solomon.
18 ULB ਅਤੇ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਰੀਮੋਥ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਆਬ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਅਬੀਹਇਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮਹਲਥ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਿਆ BSB BSB: And Rehoboam married Mahalath, who was the daughter of David’s son Jerimoth and of Abihail, the daughter of Jesse’s son Eliab.
19 ULB ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜੰਮੇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਯਉ, ਸ਼ਮਰਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਹਮ BSB BSB: She bore sons to him: Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham.
20 ULB ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮਆਕਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅਬੀਯਾਹ, ਅੱਤਈ, ਜ਼ੀਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਲੋਮੀਥ ਜੰਮੇ BSB BSB: After her, he married Maacah daughter of Absalom, and she bore to him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 ULB ਅਤੇ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮਆਕਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੀਤਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਠ ਸੁਰੀਤਾਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਠਾਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਠ ਧੀਆਂ ਜੰਮੀਆਂ BSB BSB: Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absalom more than all his wives and concubines. In all, he had eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and he was the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 ULB ਅਤੇ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਮਅਕਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਬੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖੀਆ ਮੁੱਕਰਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਕਮ ਬਣੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੀ BSB BSB: Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as chief prince among his brothers, intending to make him king.
23 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਰਸਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਹੁਟੀਆਂ ਮੰਗੀਆਂ। BSB BSB: Rehoboam also acted wisely by dispersing some of his sons throughout the districts of Judah and Benjamin, and to all the fortified cities. He gave them abundant provisions and sought many wives for them.
