1 ULB ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੌ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਬਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ। BSB BSB: And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.
2 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਸਨ, ਅਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ, ਯਹੀਏਲ, ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ, ਅਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ, ਮੀਕਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਫਟਯਾਹ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ BSB BSB: Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; these were all sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਸੋਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਮੁੱਲੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਇਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੜਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਣੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਪਰ ਰਾਜ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜੇਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ BSB BSB: Their father had given them many gifts of silver and gold and precious things, as well as the fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.
4 ULB ਜਦ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੱਕਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ BSB BSB: When Jehoram had established himself over his father’s kingdom, he strengthened himself by putting to the sword all his brothers along with some of the princes of Israel.
5 ULB ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਅੱਠ ਸਾਲ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.

For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.
7 ULB ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟਣਾ ਨਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਉਸ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਚਰਾਗ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਇਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ BSB BSB: Yet the LORD was unwilling to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant He had made with David, and since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.
8 ULB ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਤੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ BSB BSB: In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.
9 ULB ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਅਦੋਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਮਾਰਿਆ BSB BSB: So Jehoram crossed into Edom with his officers and all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night.
10 ULB ਸੋ ਅਦੋਮ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਿਬਨਾਹ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled against his hand at the same time, because Jehoram had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.
11 ULB ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਭਚਾਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ BSB BSB: Jehoram had also built high places on the hills of Judah; he had caused the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves and had led Judah astray.
12 ULB ਤਾਂ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਤ੍ਰ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਐਉਂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਸਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਹੈਂ BSB BSB: Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, which stated: “This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘You have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah,
13 ULB ਸਗੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਭਚਾਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਿਦਾਂ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਸਨ ਕਤਲ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: but you have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and have caused Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab prostituted itself. You have also killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you.
14 ULB ਸੋ ਵੇਖ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਲਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਬਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰੇਗਾ BSB BSB: So behold, the LORD is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a serious blow.
15 ULB ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਂਦਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਏਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਆਂਦਰਾਂ ਉਸ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਿਤ ਪਰਤੀ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ! BSB BSB: And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”
16 ULB ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਰਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਕੂਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਰੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇਰਿਆ ਹੈ BSB BSB: Then the LORD stirred against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and Arabs who lived near the Cushites.
17 ULB ਸੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਵੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ, ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਆਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਕੀ ਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ BSB BSB: So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz, his youngest.
18 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਂਦਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਦਾਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ BSB BSB: After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.
19 ULB ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਦੋ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਉਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਂਦਰਾਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਪਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਭੈੜੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਅੱਗ ਨਾ ਬਾਲੀ ਜਿਦਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਬਾਲਦੇ ਸਨ BSB BSB: This continued day after day until two full years had passed. Finally, his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died in severe pain. And his people did not make a fire in his honor as they had done for his fathers.
