1 ULB ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਵੀਹਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਲ਼ਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਠੀਕ ਸੀ ਜਿਦਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ BSB BSB: Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. And unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD.

4 ULB ਉਹ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਟਿੱਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਹਰੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। BSB BSB: And he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

Ahaz was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with great force.
6 ULB ਅਤੇ ਰਮਲਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਫਕਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਲੱਖ ਵੀਹ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸਨ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ BSB BSB: For in one day Pekah son of Remaliah killed 120,000 valiant men in Judah. This happened because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.

They also carried off a great deal of plunder and brought it to Samaria.

BSB BSB: But a prophet of the LORD named Oded was there, and he went out to meet the army that returned to Samaria. “Look,” he said to them, “because of His wrath against Judah, the LORD, the God of your fathers, has delivered them into your hand. But you have slaughtered them in a rage that reaches up to heaven.
10 ULB ਹੁਣ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਈ ਰੱਖੋਗੇ? ਪਰ ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ? BSB BSB: And now you intend to reduce to slavery the men and women of Judah and Jerusalem. But are you not also guilty before the LORD your God?
11 ULB ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੋੜ ਦਿਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ BSB BSB: Now therefore, listen to me and return the captives you took from your kinsmen, for the fierce anger of the LORD is upon you.”
12 ULB ਤਦ ਅਫਰਈਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯਹੋਹਾਨਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ ਮਸ਼ੀਲੇਮੋਥ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਰਕਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਲੂਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਹਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਹਦਲੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਮਾਸਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ BSB BSB: Then some of the leaders of the Ephraimites—Azariah son of Jehohanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai—stood in opposition to those arriving from the war.
13 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੰਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਸਕੋਗੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੋ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਪੀ ਬਣਾਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੀ ਭੁੱਲ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਹਿਰ ਹੈ BSB BSB: “You must not bring the captives here,” they said, “for you are proposing to bring guilt upon us from the LORD and to add to our sins and our guilt. For our guilt is great, and fierce anger is upon Israel.”
14 ULB ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੰਧੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੁੱਟ ਦੇ ਮਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ BSB BSB: So the armed men left the captives and the plunder before the leaders and all the assembly.
15 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਉੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੁੱਟ ਦੇ ਮਾਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨੰਗੇ ਸਨ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਵਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਜੁੱਤੀਆਂ ਪਵਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਮਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲਿੱਸੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਖਜ਼ੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਪੁਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਪਏ। BSB BSB: Then the men who were designated by name arose, took charge of the captives, and provided from the plunder clothing for the naked. They clothed them, gave them sandals and food and drink, anointed their wounds, and put all the feeble on donkeys. So they brought them to Jericho, the City of Palms, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.
16 ULB ਓਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ BSB BSB: At that time King Ahaz sent for help from the king of Assyria.

18 ULB ਅਤੇ ਫਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਬੇਟ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਯਾਲੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਦੇਰੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਕੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਮਨਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਮਜ਼ੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸ ਗਏ ਸਨ BSB BSB: The Philistines had also raided the cities of the foothills and the Negev of Judah, capturing and occupying Beth-shemesh, Aijalon, and Gederoth, as well as Soco, Timnah, and Gimzo with their villages.
19 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਧੀਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਵਾਰਾ ਚਾਲ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਬੇਈਮਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ BSB BSB: For the LORD humbled Judah because Ahaz king of Israel had thrown off restraint in Judah and had been most unfaithful to the LORD.
20 ULB ਅਤੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤਿਗਲਥ ਪਿਲਨਾਸਰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ BSB BSB: Then Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came to Ahaz but afflicted him rather than strengthening him.
21 ULB ਭਾਵੇਂ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ। BSB BSB: Although Ahaz had taken a portion from the house of the LORD, from the royal palace, and from the princes and had presented it to the king of Assyria, it did not help him.
22 ULB ਆਪਣੀ ਤੰਗੀ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬੇਈਮਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ BSB BSB: In the time of his distress, King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the LORD.
23 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣੇ BSB BSB: He sacrificed to the gods of Damascus, who had defeated him, and he said, “Because the gods of the kings of Aram have helped them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me.” But these gods were the downfall of Ahaz and of all Israel.
24 ULB ਤਾਂ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਟੇ-ਟੋਟੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਬੂਹਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਖੂੰਜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਵਾਈਆਂ BSB BSB: Then Ahaz gathered up the articles of the house of God, cut them into pieces, shut the doors of the house of the LORD, and set up altars of his own on every street corner in Jerusalem.
