They encamped outside the city and built a siege wall all around it.

They headed toward the Arabah,

Then they put out his eyes, bound him with bronze shackles, and took him to Babylon.

12 ULB ਪਰ ਜਲਾਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਤੀ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਦਾਖ ਦੇ ਬਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਤੇ ਬਾਗਬਾਨ ਹੋਣ। BSB BSB: But the captain of the guard left behind some of the poorest of the land to tend the vineyards and fields.

14 ULB ਅਤੇ ਤਸਲੇ, ਕੜਛੇ, ਗੁਲਤਰਾਸ਼, ਕੌਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੇ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਓਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਓਹ ਲੈ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: They also took away the pots, shovels, wick trimmers, dishes, and all the articles of bronze used in the temple service.

16 ULB ਰਹੇ ਦੋ ਥੰਮ੍ਹ, ਵੱਡਾ ਹੌਦ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਰਸੀਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਤੋਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: As for the two pillars, the Sea, and the movable stands that Solomon had made for the house of the LORD, the weight of the bronze from all these articles was beyond measure.

The bronze capital atop one pillar was three cubits high, with a network of bronze pomegranates all around. The second pillar, with its network, was similar.

He also took the scribe of the captain of the army, who had enlisted the people of the land, and sixty men who were found in the city.
20 ULB ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਾਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: Nebuzaradan captain of the guard took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
21 ULB ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਮਾਥ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਰਿਬਲਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੋ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: There at Riblah in the land of Hamath, the king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death. So Judah was taken into exile, away from its own land.
22 ULB ਪਰੰਤੂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਬੂਕਦ-ਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਫਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੋਤੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। BSB BSB: Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, over the people he had left behind in the land of Judah.
23 ULB ਜਦ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਓਹ ਮਿਸਪਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਥਨਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸ਼ਮਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰੇਆਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਹਾਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਟੋਫਥੀ ਤਨਹੁਮਥ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਰਾਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਅਕਾਥੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਅਜ਼ਨਯਾਹ, ਇਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ। BSB BSB: When all the commanders of the armies and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah as governor, they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah—Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah son of the Maacathite, as well as their men.
24 ULB ਅਤੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਾਕਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ। ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸੋ ਤੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: And Gedaliah took an oath before them and their men, assuring them, “Do not be afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans. Live in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.”
25 ULB ਪਰ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਨਥਨਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੋਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਮਾਏਲ ਜੋ ਰਾਜਬੰਸੀ ਸੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਸਪਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: In the seventh month, however, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was a member of the royal family, came with ten men and struck down and killed Gedaliah, along with the Judeans and Chaldeans who were with him at Mizpah.
26 ULB ਤਾਂ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਏ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਓਹ ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: Then all the people small and great, together with the commanders of the army, arose and fled to Egypt for fear of the Chaldeans.
28 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: And he spoke kindly to Jehoiachin and set his throne above the thrones of the other kings who were with him in Babylon.
29 ULB ਆਪਣੇ ਕੈਦ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਉਮਰ ਭਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। BSB BSB: So Jehoiachin changed out of his prison clothes, and he dined regularly at the king’s table for the rest of his life.
30 ULB ਉਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਨ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਭਰ ਨਿੱਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। BSB BSB: And the king provided Jehoiachin a daily portion for the rest of his life.
