6 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਦੰਮਿਸਕ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਕੁਵੇਲੇ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਜੋਤ ਚਮਕੀ। BSB BSB: About noon as I was approaching Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me.

8 ULB ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਤੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈਂ? ਉਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਸਰੀ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। BSB BSB: ‘Who are You, Lord?’ I asked. ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,’ He replied.

11 ULB ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਨਾ ਸਕਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੰਮਿਸਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ। BSB BSB: Because the brilliance of the light had blinded me, my companions led me by the hand into Damascus.
12 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਨਾਨਿਯਾਹ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਭਗਤ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਨੇਕਨਾਮ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: There a man named Ananias, a devout observer of the law who was highly regarded by all the Jews living there,

16 ULB ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਢਿੱਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਉੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪ ਧੋ ਸੁੱਟ। BSB BSB: And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and wash your sins away, calling on His name.’
17 ULB ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮੈਂ ਬੇਸੁਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: Later, when I had returned to Jerusalem and was praying at the temple, I fell into a trance
18 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਛੇਤੀ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣਗੇ। BSB BSB: and saw the Lord saying to me, ‘Hurry! Leave Jerusalem quickly, because the people here will not accept your testimony about Me.’
19 ULB ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: ‘Lord,’ I answered, ‘they know very well that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in You.
20 ULB ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਦਾ ਖੂਨ ਵਹਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।” BSB BSB: And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and watching over the garments of those who killed him.’
21 ULB ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ-ਦੂਰ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ। BSB BSB: Then He said to me, ‘Go! I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”
22 ULB ਉਹ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਜੀਉਣਾ ਹੀ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ! BSB BSB: The crowd listened to Paul until he made this statement. Then they lifted up their voices and shouted, “Rid the earth of him! He is not fit to live!”
23 ULB ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੀੜੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਖੇਹ ਉਡਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ। BSB BSB: As they were shouting and throwing off their cloaks and tossing dust into the air,
24 ULB ਤਾਂ ਫੌਜ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੋਰੜੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ-ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: the commander ordered that Paul be brought into the barracks. He directed that Paul be flogged and interrogated to determine the reason for this outcry against him.
25 ULB ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਸਮਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਰੋਮੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ ਸਾਬਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਰੜੇ ਮਾਰੋ? BSB BSB: But as they stretched him out to strap him down, Paul said to the centurion standing there, “Is it lawful for you to flog a Roman citizen without a trial?”
26 ULB ਜਦੋਂ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋ? ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਮੀ ਹੈ! BSB BSB: On hearing this, the centurion went and reported it to the commander. “What are you going to do?” he said. “This man is a Roman citizen.”
27 ULB ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਰੋਮੀ ਹੈਂ? ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਹਾਂ ਜੀ। BSB BSB: The commander went to Paul and asked, “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” “Yes,” he answered.
28 ULB ਤਾਂ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪੈਸਾ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕੇ ਰੋਮੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੌਲੁਸ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਜੰਮਿਆ। BSB BSB: “I paid a high price for my citizenship,” said the commander. “But I was born a citizen,” Paul replied.
29 ULB ਉਪਰੰਤ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ-ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਝੱਟ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹੱਟ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਰੋਮੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ, ਡਰ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: At once those who were about to interrogate Paul stepped back, and the commander himself was alarmed when he realized that he had put a Roman citizen in chains.
30 ULB ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਹਾਂ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: The next day the commander, wanting to learn the real reason Paul was accused by the Jews, released him and ordered the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin to assemble. Then he brought Paul down and had him stand before them.
