1 ULB ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਨਾਲੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਵੀ,- ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਚੋਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਵੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੱਥੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੁੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: When I heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim will be exposed, as well as the crimes of Samaria. For they practice deceit and thieves break in; bandits raid in the streets.
2 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਦੀ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੁਣ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: But they fail to consider in their hearts that I remember all their evil. Now their deeds are all around them; they are before My face.
3 ULB ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਝੂਠਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: They delight the king with their evil, and the princes with their lies.
4 ULB ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਭਚਾਰੀ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੰਦੂਰ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਭਠਿਆਰਾ ਗਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਟਾ ਗੁੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਤੋਂ ਖਮੀਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ, ਉਹ ਅੱਗ ਭੜਕਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੁਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: They are all adulterers, like an oven heated by a baker who needs not stoke the fire from the kneading to the rising of the dough.
5 ULB ਸਾਡੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਹਾਕਮ ਮੈਅ ਦੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੀਮਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਠੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ। BSB BSB: The princes are inflamed with wine on the day of our king; so he joins hands with those who mock him.
6 ULB ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਦੂਰ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਘਾਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਵੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਭਾਂਬੜ ਵਾਲੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਲ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: For they prepare their heart like an oven while they lie in wait; all night their anger smolders; in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.
7 ULB ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੰਦੂਰ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਤੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਆਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: All of them are hot as an oven, and they devour their rulers. All their kings fall; not one of them calls upon Me.
8 ULB ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਇੱਕ ਚਪਾਤੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਲਟਾਈ ਨਾ ਗਈ! BSB BSB: Ephraim mixes with the nations; Ephraim is an unturned cake.
9 ULB ਓਪਰੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ। ਉਹ ਦੇ ਧੌਲੇ ਆਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ। BSB BSB: Foreigners consume his strength, but he does not notice. Even his hair is streaked with gray, but he does not know.
10 ULB ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੜਦੇ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖੋਜੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ। BSB BSB: Israel’s arrogance testifies against them, yet they do not return to the LORD their God; despite all this, they do not seek Him.
11 ULB ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਇੱਕ ਭੋਲੀ ਤੇ ਬੁੱਧਹੀਣ ਘੁੱਗੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ! BSB BSB: So Ephraim has become like a silly, senseless dove—calling out to Egypt, then turning to Assyria.
12 ULB ਜਦ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਛਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਲਾਹਵਾਂਗਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾੜਾਂਗਾ। BSB BSB: As they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like birds of the air. I will chastise them when I hear them flocking together.
13 ULB ਹਾਇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ! ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਭਟਕ ਗਏ। ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ! ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਝੂਠ ਬੱਕਦੇ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction to them, for they have rebelled against Me! Though I would redeem them, they speak lies against Me.
14 ULB ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਬਿਸਤਰਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਿੱਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਅੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਮੈਅ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: They do not cry out to Me from their hearts when they wail upon their beds. They slash themselves for grain and new wine, but turn away from Me.
15 ULB ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਤਕੜਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: Although I trained and strengthened their arms, they plot evil against Me.
16 ULB ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਅੱਤ ਮਹਾਨ ਵੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਨਕਲੀ ਧਣੁਖ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਹਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਣਗੇ,- ਇਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਠੱਠਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: They turn, but not to the Most High; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword for the cursing of their tongue; for this they will be ridiculed in the land of Egypt.
