1 ULB ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰ੍ਹੀ ਲਾ! ਉਹ ਉਕਾਬ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਮੇਰੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: Put the ram’s horn to your lips! An eagle looms over the house of the LORD, because the people have transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.
2 ULB ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,- ਹੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜੋ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਹਾਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ! BSB BSB: Israel cries out to Me, “O our God, we know You!”
3 ULB ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਵੈਰੀ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: But Israel has rejected good; an enemy will pursue him.
4 ULB ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਬਣਾਏ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁੱਤ ਬਣਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਿਟਾਏ ਜਾਣ। BSB BSB: They set up kings, but not by Me. They make princes, but without My approval. With their silver and gold they make themselves idols, to their own destruction.
5 ULB ਉਹ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਵੱਛਾ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਹੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ! ਮੇਰਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੜਕਿਆ। ਉਹ ਕਦੋਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾਈ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਣਗੇ? BSB BSB: He has rejected your calf, O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of innocence?
6 ULB ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਹੈ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਹਾਂ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦਾ ਵੱਛਾ ਟੁੱਕੜੇ-ਟੁੱਕੜੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: For this thing is from Israel—a craftsman made it, and it is not God. It will be broken to pieces, that calf of Samaria.
7 ULB ਉਹ ਹਵਾ ਬੀਜਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਵਰੋਲੇ ਵੱਢਦੇ ਹਨ! ਕੋਈ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਿੱਟਾ ਆਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਜੇ, ਦੇਵੇ ਵੀ ਤਾਂ ਓਪਰੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਲ ਲੈਣਗੇ! BSB BSB: For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. There is no standing grain; what sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it should produce, the foreigners would swallow it up.
8 ULB ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਿਗਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ-ਪਸੰਦ ਬਰਤਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: Israel is swallowed up! Now they are among the nations like a worthless vessel.
9 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਖੋਤਾ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਅਵਾਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਾਏ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਾਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: For they have gone up to Assyria like a wild donkey on its own. Ephraim has hired lovers.
10 ULB ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਰਾਇਆ ਦੇਣ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗੇ। BSB BSB: Though they hire allies among the nations, I will now round them up, and they will begin to diminish under the oppression of the king of princes.
11 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ। BSB BSB: Though Ephraim multiplied the altars for sin, they became his altars for sinning.
12 ULB ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਓਪਰੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਸਮਝੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। BSB BSB: Though I wrote for them the great things of My law, they regarded them as something strange.
13 ULB ਮੇਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਮਾਸ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ,- ਉਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਣਗੇ। BSB BSB: Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to Me, and though they eat the meat, the LORD does not accept them. Now He will remember their iniquity and punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.
14 ULB ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਬਣਾਏ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਣਾਏ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਗ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਸਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। BSB BSB: Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; Judah has multiplied its fortified cities. But I will send fire upon their cities, and it will consume their citadels.
