1 ULB ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਫਿਰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, BSB BSB: Once again, Jesus spoke to them in parables:
2 ULB ਸਵਰਗ ਰਾਜ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ। BSB BSB: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.
3 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਦਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ। BSB BSB: He sent his servants to call those he had invited to the banquet, but they refused to come.
4 ULB ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜੋ ਸੱਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ ਮੈਂ ਭੋਜਨ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੈਲ ਤੇ ਮੋਟੇ-ਮੋਟੇ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਵੱਢੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਕੁੱਝ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਓ। BSB BSB: Again, he sent other servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened cattle have been killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’
5 ULB ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ, ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਣਜ-ਵਪਾਰ ਨੂੰ, BSB BSB: But they paid no attention and went away, one to his field, another to his business.
6 ULB ਅਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। BSB BSB: The rest seized his servants, mistreated them, and killed them.
7 ULB ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖ਼ੂਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਫੂਕ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। BSB BSB: The king was enraged, and he sent his troops to destroy those murderers and burn their city.
8 ULB ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵਿਆਹ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਤਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸੱਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited were not worthy.
9 ULB ਸੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚੌਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਦ ਲਿਆਓ। BSB BSB: Go therefore to the crossroads and invite to the banquet as many as you can find.’
10 ULB ਤਦ ਉਹ ਨੌਕਰ ਰਸਤਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਭਲੇ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਾਲਾ ਘਰ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: So the servants went out into the streets and gathered everyone they could find, both evil and good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 ULB ਪਰ ਜਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਇਆ ਤਦ ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। BSB BSB: But when the king came in to see the guests, he spotted a man who was not dressed in wedding clothes.
12 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਭਾਈ, ਤੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਇਆ? ਪਰ ਉਹ ਚੁੱਪ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ। BSB BSB: ‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ But the man was speechless.
13 ULB ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ-ਪੈਰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਧਘੋਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿਓ! ਉੱਥੇ ਰੋਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਚੀਚੀਆਂ ਵੱਟਣਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। BSB BSB: Then the king told the servants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
14 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸੱਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ। BSB BSB: For many are called, but few are chosen.”
15 ULB ਤਦ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਾਈਏ। BSB BSB: Then the Pharisees went out and conspired to trap Jesus in His words.
16 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਰੋਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੱਖਪਾਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। BSB BSB: They sent their disciples to Him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are honest and that You teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You seek favor from no one, because You pay no attention to external appearance.
17 ULB ਸੋ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ, ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜੋ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ? BSB BSB: So tell us what You think: Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
18 ULB ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਕਪਟੀਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਖਦੇ ਹੋ? BSB BSB: But Jesus knew their evil intent and said, “You hypocrites, why are you testing Me?
19 ULB ਕਰ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਓ। ਤਦ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅੱਠਿਆਨੀ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ। BSB BSB: Show Me the coin used for the tax.” And they brought Him a denarius.
20 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਇਹ ਮੂਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਲਿਖਤ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: “Whose image is this,” He asked, “and whose inscription?”
21 ULB ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਕੈਸਰ ਦੀ। ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਫੇਰ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਕੈਸਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਓ। BSB BSB: “Caesar’s,” they answered. So Jesus told them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
22 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। BSB BSB: And when they heard this, they were amazed. So they left Him and went away.
24 ULB ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੇ-ਔਲਾਦ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਲਈ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਕਰੇ। BSB BSB: “Teacher,” they said, “Moses declared that if a man dies without having children, his brother is to marry the widow and raise up offspring for him.
25 ULB ਸੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੇ-ਔਲਾਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਛੱਡ ਗਿਆ। BSB BSB: Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died without having children. So he left his wife to his brother.
26 ULB ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਵੀ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਤੱਕ। BSB BSB: The same thing happened to the second and third brothers, down to the seventh.
27 ULB ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਈ। BSB BSB: And last of all, the woman died.
28 ULB ਉਪਰੰਤ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਣੀ ਸੀ? BSB BSB: In the resurrection, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? For all of them were married to her.”
29 ULB ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ। BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
30 ULB ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਵਿਆਹੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven.
31 ULB ਪਰ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ BSB BSB: But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what God said to you:
33 ULB ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ। BSB BSB: When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.
34 ULB ਪਰ ਜਦ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਸਦੂਕੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ। BSB BSB: And when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they themselves gathered together.
35 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਵਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ BSB BSB: One of them, an expert in the law, tested Him with a question:
36 ULB ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਹੈ? BSB BSB: “Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?”
37 ULB ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ, ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰ। BSB BSB: Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 ULB ਵੱਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਇਹੋ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 ULB ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਹਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰ। BSB BSB: And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 ULB ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। BSB BSB: All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
41 ULB ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਸਨ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ BSB BSB: While the Pharisees were assembled, Jesus questioned them:
42 ULB ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹੋ, ਉਹ ਕਿਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ? ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ। BSB BSB: “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He?” “David’s,” they answered.
43 ULB ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਫੇਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕਿ BSB BSB: Jesus said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord’? For he says:
44 ULB ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੈਠ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂ। BSB BSB: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand until I put Your enemies under Your feet.”’
45 ULB ਸੋ ਜਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ? BSB BSB: So if David calls Him ‘Lord,’ how can He be David’s son?”
46 ULB ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਬਚਨ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਿਆ, ਨਾ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਹੋਈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰੇ। BSB BSB: No one was able to answer a word, and from that day on no one dared to question Him any further.
