4ਇੱਦੋ, ਗਿਨਥੋਈ, ਅਬੀਯਾਹ,Iddo, Ginnethon, Abijah,

5ਮਿੱਯਾਮੀਨ, ਮਆਦਯਾਹ ਬਿਲਗਾਹ,Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,

6ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ, ਯੋਯਾਰੀਬ, ਯਦਆਯਾਹ,Shemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,

7ਸੱਲੂ, ਆਮੋਕ, ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਦਆਯਾਹ, ਯੇਸ਼ੂਆ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਇਹੋ ਸਨ।Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These were the leaders of the priests and their associates in the days of Jeshua.

11ਯੋਯਾਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਯੱਦੂਆ ਜੰਮਿਆ।Joiada was the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan was the father of Jaddua.

14ਮਲੂਕੀ ਤੋਂ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਨਯਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼,of Malluchi, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;

15ਹਰੀਮ ਤੋਂ ਅਦਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਾਯੋਥ ਤੋਂ ਹਲਕਈ,of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;

21ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਹਸ਼ਬਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਦਆਯਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਨਥਨਏਲ।of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; and of Jedaiah, Nethanel.

22ਅਲਯਾਸ਼ੀਬ, ਯੋਯਾਦਆ, ਯੋਹਾਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਯੱਦੂਆ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੇਵੀ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਦਾਰਾ ਫਾਰਸੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।In the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua, during the reign of Darius the Persian, the heads of the families of the Levites and priests were recorded.

23ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਲਯਾਸ਼ੀਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਹਾਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।As for the descendants of Levi, the family heads up to the days of Johanan son of Eliashib were recorded in the Book of the Chronicles.

24ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਹਸ਼ਬਯਾਹ, ਸ਼ੇਰੇਬਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਕਦਮੀਏਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੇਸ਼ੂਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਆਹਮੋ-ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਉਸਤਤ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਸਨ।The leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, along with their associates, who stood across from them to give praise and thanksgiving as one section alternated with the other, as prescribed by David the man of God.

25ਮੱਤਨਯਾਹ, ਬਕਬੁਕਯਾਹ, ਓਬਦਯਾਹ, ਮਸ਼ੁੱਲਾਮ, ਟਲਮੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਕੂੱਬ ਦਰਬਾਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੰਡਾਰ-ਘਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers who guarded the storerooms at the gates.

26ਯੋਸਾਦਾਕ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਯੇਸ਼ੂਆ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਨਹਮਯਾਹ ਹਾਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਸਨ।They served in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and Ezra the priest and scribe.

27ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਅਨੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਛੈਣੇ, ਸਤਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਬਤਾਂ ਵਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰਨ।At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from all their homes and brought to Jerusalem to celebrate the joyous dedication with thanksgiving and singing, accompanied by cymbals, harps, and lyres.

28ਗਾਇਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਟੋਫਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂThe singers were also assembled from the region around Jerusalem, from the villages of the Netophathites,

29ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ-ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਬਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਵਥ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਗਾਇਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਪਿੰਡ ਬਣਾ ਲਏ ਸਨ।from Beth-gilgal, and from the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, for they had built villages for themselves around Jerusalem.

31ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਪਨਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਦੋ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਟੋਲੀਆਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਈਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਟੋਲੀ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਕੂੜਾ-ਫਾਟਕ ਵੱਲ ਗਈThen I brought the leaders of Judah up on the wall, and I appointed two great thanksgiving choirs. One was to proceed along the top of the wall to the right, toward the Dung Gate.

32ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੋਸ਼ਅਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਹਾਕਮ,Hoshaiah and half the leaders of Judah followed,

33ਅਤੇ ਅਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ, ਅਜ਼ਰਾ, ਮਸ਼ੁੱਲਾਮ,along with Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,

34ਯਹੂਦਾਹ, ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ, ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ ਤੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਗਏJudah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah,

35ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਰਸਿੰਗੇ ਲਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਅਅਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਉਹ ਮੱਤਨਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਉਹ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਉਹ ਜ਼ਕੂਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਉਹ ਆਸਾਫ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰand some of the priests with trumpets, and also Zechariah son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph,

36ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ, ਅਜ਼ਰਏਲ, ਮਿਲਲਈ, ਗਿਲਲਈ, ਮਾਈ, ਨਥਨਏਲ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਹਨਾਨੀ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।and his associates—Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani—with the musical instruments prescribed by David the man of God. Ezra the scribe led the procession.

37ਇਹ ਚਸ਼ਮਾ-ਫਾਟਕ ਤੋਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਪਨਾਹ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ, ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਜਲ-ਫਾਟਕ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ।At the Fountain Gate they went directly up the steps of the City of David on the ascent to the wall and passed above the house of David to the Water Gate on the east.

38ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੂਸਰੀ ਟੋਲੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ, ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਮੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਧੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਤੰਦੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੁਰਜ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਚੌੜੀ ਕੰਧ ਤੱਕ ਗਏThe second thanksgiving choir proceeded to the left, and I followed it with half the people along the top of the wall, past the Tower of the Ovens to the Broad Wall,

39ਅਤੇ ਅਫਰਾਈਮੀ ਫਾਟਕ, ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਫਾਟਕ, ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਫਾਟਕ, ਅਤੇ ਹਨਨੇਲ ਦੇ ਬੁਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਮੇਆਹ ਦੇ ਬੁਰਜ ਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਭੇਡ-ਫਾਟਕ ਤੱਕ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਦਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।over the Gate of Ephraim, the Jeshanah Gate, the Fish Gate, the Tower of Hananel, and the Tower of the Hundred, as far as the Sheep Gate. And they stopped at the Gate of the Guard.

40ਤਦ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਟੋਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਧੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ,The two thanksgiving choirs then stood in the house of God, as did I, along with the half of the officials accompanying me,

41ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ- ਅਲਯਾਕੀਮ, ਮਅਸੇਯਾਹ, ਮਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ, ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ, ਅਲਯੋਏਨੀ, ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਹਨਨਯਾਹ ਨਰਸਿੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨas well as the priests with their trumpets—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah—

42ਅਤੇ ਮਅਸੇਯਾਹ, ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ, ਅਲਆਜ਼ਰ, ਉੱਜ਼ੀ, ਯਹੋਨਾਨ, ਮਲਕੀਯਾਹ, ਏਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਆਜ਼ਰ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਇਕ ਯਜ਼ਰਯਾਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।and also Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. Then the choirs sang out under the direction of Jezrahiah.

43ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਨਾਇਆ। ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਦੂਰ ਤੱਕ ਸੁਣੀ ਗਈ।On that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard from afar.

46ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦਾਊਦ ਤੇ ਆਸਾਫ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਾਇਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਉਸਤਤ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।For long ago, in the days of David and Asaph, there were directors for the singers and for the songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

They also set aside daily portions for the Levites, and the Levites set aside daily portions for the descendants of Aaron.
