12 ULB ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਮਧ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਦਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਭੰਡਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ। BSB BSB: and all Judah brought a tenth of the grain, new wine, and oil into the storerooms.

They were responsible for distributing the supplies to their fellow Levites.
14 ULB ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਨੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਮਿਟਾ। BSB BSB: Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out my deeds of loving devotion for the house of my God and for its services.
15 ULB ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀੜਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਧਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੱਦ ਕੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਧ, ਅੰਗੂਰ, ਹੰਜੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਭੋਜਨ ਵਸਤੂ ਨਾ ਵੇਚਣ ਦੀ ਚਿਤਾਉਣੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। BSB BSB: In those days I saw people in Judah treading winepresses on the Sabbath and bringing in grain and loading it on donkeys, along with wine, grapes, and figs. All kinds of goods were being brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. So I warned them against selling food on that day.

17 ULB ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਮੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, "ਇਹ ਕੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ? BSB BSB: Then I rebuked the nobles of Judah and asked, “What is this evil you are doing—profaning the Sabbath day?
18 ULB ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ? ਕੀ ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ? ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਭੜਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ!" BSB BSB: Did not your forefathers do the same things, so that our God brought all this disaster on us and on this city? And now you are rekindling His wrath against Israel by profaning the Sabbath!”
19 ULB ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਜਦ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਬੰਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਸਬਤ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਫਾਟਕ ਨਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਕੋਈ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ। BSB BSB: When the evening shadows began to fall on the gates of Jerusalem, just before the Sabbath, I ordered that the gates be shut and not opened until after the Sabbath. I posted some of my servants at the gates so that no load could enter on the Sabbath day.

21 ULB ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤਾਉਣੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, "ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਪਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਠਹਿਰਦੇ ਹੋ? ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਫਿਰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਪਾਵਾਂਗਾ!" ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ। BSB BSB: but I warned them, “Why are you camping in front of the wall? If you do it again, I will lay hands on you.” From that time on, they did not return on the Sabbath.
22 ULB ਮੈਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾਈ ਲਈ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਲਈ ਜਾਓ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਦਯਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾ। BSB BSB: Then I instructed the Levites to purify themselves and guard the gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy. Remember me for this as well, O my God, and show me mercy according to Your abundant loving devotion.
23 ULB ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਸ਼ਦੋਦੀ, ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। BSB BSB: In those days I also saw Jews who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab.

I beat some of these men and pulled out their hair. Then I made them take an oath before God and said, “You must not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters as wives for your sons or for yourselves!
26 ULB ਕੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ? ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਗੈਰ-ਕੌਮੀ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। BSB BSB: Did not King Solomon of Israel sin in matters like this? There was not a king like him among many nations, and he was loved by his God, who made him king over all Israel—yet foreign women drew him into sin.
27 ULB ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਐਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਰੀਏ ਕਿ ਗੈਰ-ਕੌਮੀ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਧੋਖਾ ਕਰੀਏ?" BSB BSB: Must we now hear that you too are doing all this terrible evil and acting unfaithfully against our God by marrying foreign women?”
29 ULB ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। BSB BSB: Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood and the covenant of the priesthood and of the Levites.
30 ULB ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੈਰ-ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। BSB BSB: Thus I purified the priests and Levites from everything foreign, and I assigned specific duties to each of the priests and Levites.
31 ULB ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਸਮਾਂ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਭਲਿਆਈ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ! BSB BSB: I also arranged for contributions of wood at the appointed times, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, with favor.
