1 ULB Dessa forma, por termos este ministério, e conforme a misericórdia que recebemos, não nos desanimamos. BSB BSB: Therefore, since God in His mercy has given us this ministry, we do not lose heart.
2 ULB Pelo contrário, renunciamos aos caminhos vergonhosos e ocultos. Não vivemos pela astúcia, e não falsificamos a Palavra de Deus. Ao apresentar a verdade, nos recomendamos à consciência de todo homem, à vista de Deus. BSB BSB: Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful ways. We do not practice deceit, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by open proclamation of the truth, we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
3 ULB Mas, se o nosso Evangelho está encoberto, está encoberto apenas para aqueles que estão perecendo. BSB BSB: And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
4 ULB No caso deles, o deus deste mundo cegou suas mentes incrédulas, e, por isso, não conseguem ver a luz do Evangelho da glória de Cristo, que é a imagem de Deus. BSB BSB: The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
5 ULB Pois não anunciamos a nós mesmos, mas a Cristo Jesus como Senhor, e a nós mesmos como vossos servos, por causa de Jesus. BSB BSB: For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 ULB Porque foi Deus quem disse: "A luz brilhará das trevas". Ele brilhou em nossos corações para iluminar o conhecimento da glória de Deus na face de Jesus Cristo. BSB BSB: For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 ULB Porém, temos este tesouro em vasos de barro, para que fique claro que o supremo poder pertence a Deus, e não a nós. BSB BSB: Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us.
8 ULB Somos afligidos de todas as maneiras, mas não derrotados; perplexos, mas não desesperados; BSB BSB: We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
9 ULB perseguidos, mas não abandonados; abatidos, mas não destruídos. BSB BSB: persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.
10 ULB Carregamos sempre no corpo a morte de Jesus, para que a Sua vida também seja mostrada em nosso corpo. BSB BSB: We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
11 ULB Nós, que vivemos, somos sempre entregues à morte por causa de Jesus, para que a vida de Jesus seja mostrada em nosso corpo humano. BSB BSB: For we who are alive are always consigned to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal body.
12 ULB De modo que a morte opera em nós, mas a vida em vós. BSB BSB: So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
13 ULB Mas nós temos o mesmo espírito de fé, de acordo com o que está escrito: "Eu cri e, por isso, falei." Nós também cremos e, por isso, também falamos. BSB BSB: And in keeping with what is written, “I believed, therefore I have spoken,” we who have the same spirit of faith also believe and therefore speak,
14 ULB Sabemos que Aquele que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus também nos ressuscitará com Jesus, e nos trará convosco à Sua presença. BSB BSB: knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in His presence.
15 ULB Todas as coisas são por vossa causa, para que, mediante a graça abundante a muitos, as ações de graças excedam para a glória de Deus. BSB BSB: All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is extending to more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow, to the glory of God.
16 ULB Então, não nos desanimamos. Mesmo que externamente sejamos consumidos, internamente somos renovados dia a dia. BSB BSB: Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day.
17 ULB Pois esta leve e momentânea aflição nos prepara para um eterno peso de glória que excede toda medida. BSB BSB: For our light and momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory that is far beyond comparison.
18 ULB Não nos atentamos às coisas que se veem, mas às coisas que não se veem. As coisas que podemos ver são temporárias, mas as coisas que não podemos ver são eternas. BSB BSB: So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
