Diz: BSB BSB: “Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and also to the remnant of the people. Ask them,
3 ULB 'Dos que restaram entre vós, quem viu esta casa na sua glória anterior? E como vós a vedes agora? não é esta como nada em vossos olhos? BSB BSB: ‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not appear to you like nothing in comparison?’
4 ULB Agora, pois, seja forte, Zorobabel!'- esta é a declaração de Yahweh- 'e seja forte sumo sacerdote Josué filho de Jozadaque; e sede fortes, todas as pessoas da terra!'- esta é a declaração de Yahweh- 'e trabalhem, pois Eu estou convosco!'- esta é a declaração de Yahweh dos Exércitos.' 11 ULB "Yahweh dos Exércitos assim diz: 'Pergunta aos sacerdotes acerca da lei, e diz: BSB BSB: “This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Ask the priests for a ruling.
12 ULB Se um homem carregar a carne dedicada a Yahweh na aba do seu vestido, e se tocar a aba no pão ou guisado, vinho ou óleo, ou qualquer outro tipo de comida, tornar-se-a santa esta comida?' Os sacerdotes responderam dizendo: Não". BSB BSB: If a man carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does that item become holy?’” “No,” replied the priests.
13 ULB Então Ageu disse: "Se alguém impuro por causa da morte tocar qualquer uma destas coisas, ficarão elas impuras?" Os sacerdotes responderam dizendo: "Sim, tornar-se-ão impuros". BSB BSB: Then Haggai replied, “So it is with this people and this nation before Me, declares the LORD, and so it is with every work of their hands; whatever they offer there is defiled.
15 ULB Portanto agora, considerem a partir desse dia em diante, antes de qualquer pedra ser colocada sobre outra pedra no templo de Yahweh, BSB BSB: Now consider carefully from this day forward: Before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,
16 ULB sempre que alguém viesse ao lagar para tirar vinte medidas de grãos, havia somente dez, sempre que alguem viesse ao tonel para tirar cinquenta medidas de vinho, havia somente vinte. BSB BSB: from that time, when one came expecting a heap of twenty ephahs of grain, there were but ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.
17 ULB Eu vos afligi em todo o trabalho das vossas mãos com ferrugem e mofo, mas vós ainda não retornastes para mim', declara Yahweh. BSB BSB: I struck you—all the work of your hands—with blight, mildew, and hail, but you did not turn to Me, declares the LORD.
18 ULB Considerem a partir deste dia em diante, desde o vigésimo quarto dia do nono mês, desde o dia que a fundação do templo de Yahweh foi colocada. Considerem isso! BSB BSB: Consider carefully from this day forward—from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, the day the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid—consider carefully:
19 ULB Ainda há semente no celeiro? A videira, a figueira, a romeira, e a oliveira não produziram! mas a partir deste dia vos abençoarei!" BSB BSB: Is there still seed in the barn? The vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yet yielded fruit. But from this day on, I will bless you.”
20 ULB Então a palavra de Yahweh veio pela segunda vez a Ageu no vigésimo quarto dia do mês e disse: BSB BSB: For the second time that day, the twenty-fourth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to Haggai, saying,
21 ULB "Fala ao governador de judá, Zorobabel, e diz: 'Estremecerei os céus e a terra. BSB BSB: “Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am about to shake the heavens and the earth:
22 ULB Pois derrubarei o trono dos reinos e destruirei as forças dos reinos das nações! Derrubarei as carruagens e os seus cavaleiros; os cavalos e seus cavaleiros cairão, cada um por causa da espada do seu irmão'. BSB BSB: I will overturn royal thrones and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overturn chariots and their riders; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.
