1 GLT Now it was that on the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. BSB BSB: On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel.
2 GLT And he said to Aaron,“Take for yourself a calf, a son of the herd, for a sin offering, and a ram without blemish for a burnt offering, and offer them before the face of Yahweh. BSB BSB: He said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and present them before the LORD.
3 GLT And to the sons of Israel you must speak, saying,‘Take a buck of the goats for a sin offering and a calf and a lamb, sons of the year without blemish, for a burnt offering, BSB BSB: Then speak to the Israelites and say, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, a calf and a lamb—both a year old and without blemish—for a burnt offering,
4 GLT and an ox and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the face of Yahweh, and a grain offering mixed with oil, because today Yahweh will appear to you.’” BSB BSB: an ox and a ram for a peace offering to sacrifice before the LORD, and a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the LORD will appear to you.’”
5 GLT And they brought what Moses commanded to the entrance of the tent of meeting. And all the assembly came near and stood before the face of Yahweh. BSB BSB: So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of the Tent of Meeting, and the whole congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
6 GLT And Moses said,“This is the thing that Yahweh commanded you to do, so the glory of Yahweh may appear to you.” BSB BSB: And Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.”
7 GLT And Moses said to Aaron,“Come near to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. And offer the sacrifice of the people and make atonement for them, as Yahweh has commanded.” BSB BSB: Then Moses said to Aaron, “Approach the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering to make atonement for yourself and for the people. And sacrifice the people’s offering to make atonement for them, as the LORD has commanded.”
8 GLT And Aaron went near to the altar and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. BSB BSB: So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sin offering for himself.
9 GLT And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar. And he poured out the blood at the base of the altar. BSB BSB: The sons of Aaron brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and applied it to the horns of the altar. And he poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
10 GLT And the fat and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering he burned on the altar, as Yahweh had commanded Moses. BSB BSB: On the altar he burned the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
11 GLT And the flesh and the hide he burned in the fire outside the camp. BSB BSB: But he burned up the flesh and the hide outside the camp.
12 GLT And he slaughtered the burnt offering. And the sons of Aaron brought to him the blood, and he sprinkled it against every side of the altar. BSB BSB: Then Aaron slaughtered the burnt offering. His sons brought him the blood, and he splattered it on all sides of the altar.
13 GLT And they brought to him the burnt offering in its pieces, with the head, and he burned them on the altar. BSB BSB: They brought him the burnt offering piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar.
14 GLT And he washed the inner parts and the legs and burned them on top of the burnt offering on the altar. BSB BSB: He washed the entrails and the legs and burned them atop the burnt offering on the altar.
15 GLT And he offered the offering of the people. And he took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people and he slaughtered it and offered it for sin, like the first one. BSB BSB: Aaron then presented the people’s offering. He took the male goat for the people’s sin offering, slaughtered it, and offered it for sin like the first one.
16 GLT And he offered the burnt offering and did it according to the ordinance. BSB BSB: He presented the burnt offering and offered it according to the ordinance.
17 GLT And he presented the grain offering. And he filled his hand with it and burned it on the altar, along with the burnt offering of the morning. BSB BSB: Next he presented the grain offering, took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar in addition to the morning’s burnt offering.
18 GLT And he slaughtered the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of the peace offerings, which was for the people. And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him and he sprinkled it against every side of the altar. BSB BSB: Then he slaughtered the ox and the ram as the people’s peace offering. His sons brought him the blood, and he splattered it on all sides of the altar.
19 GLT As for the fat portions from the bull and from the ram, the fat tail, and the fat covering the inner parts, and the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver, BSB BSB: They also brought the fat portions from the ox and the ram—the fat tail, the fat covering the entrails, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver—
20 GLT they then put the fat portions on the breasts, and he burned the fat portions on the altar. BSB BSB: and placed these on the breasts. Aaron burned the fat portions on the altar,
21 GLT And the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved as a wave offering before the face of Yahweh, as Moses had commanded. BSB BSB: but he waved the breasts and the right thigh as a wave offering before the LORD, as Moses had commanded.
22 GLT And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. And he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings. BSB BSB: Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having made the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering, he stepped down.
23 GLT And Moses and Aaron came into the tent of meeting, and they went out and blessed the people. And the glory of Yahweh appeared to all the people. BSB BSB: Moses and Aaron then entered the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
24 GLT And fire came out from before the face of Yahweh and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And all the people saw and shouted and fell upon their faces. BSB BSB: Fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.
