1Было же, в те дни вышел указ от кесаря Августа сделать перепись по всей земле обитания.Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that a census should be taken of the whole empire.

2Это была первая перепись, когда Сирией управлял Квириний.This was the first census to take place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

3И пошли все записываться, каждый в свой город.And everyone went to his own town to register.

4Пошёл также и Иосиф из Галилеи, из города Назарет, в Иудею, в город Давида, который называется Вифлеем, потому что он был из дома и семьи Давида,So Joseph also went up from Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, since he was from the house and line of David.

5чтобы записаться с Марией, обручённой с ним, которая была беременна.He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to him in marriage and was expecting a child.

6Было же, при их пребывании там, исполнились дни родить ей.While they were there, the time came for her Child to be born.

7И родила своего Сына, Первенца, и спеленала Его, и положила Его в кормушку для скота, потому что не было им места в гостинице.And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

8А в той местности находились пастухи, пребывавшие в полях и стоявшие стражей в ночи у своего стада.And there were shepherds residing in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night.

9И явился им ангел Господа, и слава Господа осветила их, и испугались великим страхом.Just then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

10И ангел сказал им:“Не бойтесь! Потому что, вот, возвещаю вам добрую весть о великой радости, которая будет всем людям,But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:

11так как сегодня в городе Давида родился вам Спаситель, Который есть Христос, Господь.Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!

12И это вам знак: найдёте Младенца, спелёнатого и лежащего в кормушке для скота”.And this will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

13И вдруг с ангелом явилось многочисленное небесное войско, восхваляющее Бога и говорящее:And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying:

14“Слава Богу в вышних, а на земле мир, к людям благоволение!”“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

15И было, когда ангелы удалились от них на небо, пастухи стали говорить друг другу:“Пойдём же в Вифлеем и посмотрим, какое дело там произошло, о котором Господь дал нам знать”.When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

16И поспешив, пришли и нашли Марию, и Иосифа, и Младенца, лежащего в кормушке для скота.So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the Baby, who was lying in the manger.

17Увидев же, известили о сказанном им слове об этом Младенце.After they had seen the Child, they spread the message they had received about Him.

18И все слышавшие, удивлялись рассказанному им пастухами.And all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

19Мария же сохраняла все эти слова, слагая в своём сердце.But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

20И вернулись пастухи, славя и восхваляя Бога за всё, что слышали и видели, как им было сказано.The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, which was just as the angel had told them.

21И когда исполнилось восемь дней,(чтобы обрезать Его), и дали Ему имя Иисус, данное ангелом до Его зачатия в утробе,When the eight days before His circumcision had passed, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He was conceived.

22и когда исполнились дни их очищения по закону Моисея, принесли Его в Иерусалим, чтобы представить Господу,And when the time of purification according to the Law of Moses was complete, His parents brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord

23(как написано в законе Господа, чтобы всякий младенец мужского пола, раскрывающий утробу, был назван святыней Господа),(as it is written in the Law of the Lord: “Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to the Lord”),

24и чтобы принести жертву по сказанному в законе Господа двух горлиц или двух голубиных птенцов.and to offer the sacrifice specified in the Law of the Lord: “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

25И вот, был в Иерусалиме человек, которого имя Симеон. И он был праведным и благочестивым человеком, ожидающим утешения Израиля, и Святой Дух был на нём.Now there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

26И было ему объявлено Святым Духом, что не увидит смерти, пока не увидит Христа Господнего.The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

27И он в Духе пришёл в храм. И, когда родители внесли Младенца Иисуса, чтобы сделать Ему по законному обряду о Нем,Led by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. And when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for Him what was customary under the Law,

28и он взял Его на руки, и благословил Бога, и сказал:Simeon took Him in his arms and blessed God, saying:

29“Владыка, теперь отпускаешь Твоего раба по Твоему слову с миром,“Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You now dismiss Your servant in peace.

30потому что мои глаза увидели Твоё спасение,For my eyes have seen Your salvation,

31которое приготовил перед лицом всех народов,which You have prepared in the sight of all people,

32свет к откровению язычников и славу Твоего народа Израиля”.a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to Your people Israel.”

33И Его отец, и мать были удивлены сказанному о Нём.The Child’s father and mother were amazed at what was spoken about Him.

34И благословил Симеон их, и сказал Марии, матери Его:“Вот, Этот лежит для падения и восстановления многих в Израиле и для знака отвергаемого,Then Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary: “Behold, this Child is appointed to cause the rise and fall of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,

35чтобы открылись помыслы многих сердец, и тебе же самой меч пронзит душу”.so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed—and a sword will pierce your soul as well.”

36И была пророчица Анна, дочь Фануила из колена Асира. Она достигла очень преклонного возраста, прожив с мужем от своего девичества семь лет,There was also a prophetess named Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, who was well along in years. She had been married for seven years,

37и она— вдова восьмидесяти четырёх лет, которая не отходила от храма, служа постом и молитвой ночь и день.and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.

38И в это самое время она, подойдя, славила Господа и говорила о Нём всем ожидающим избавления Иерусалима.Coming forward at that moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the Child to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

39И когда исполнили всё то по закону Господа, вернулись в Галилею, в свой город Назарет.When Jesus’ parents had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.

40Младенец же рос и укреплялся, наполняясь мудростью, и Божья благодать была на Нём.And the Child grew and became strong. He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.

41А родители Его каждый год ходили в Иерусалим на праздник Пасхи.Every year His parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.

42И когда Ему настало двенадцать лет, они по обычаю пришли на праздник.And when He was twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the Feast.

43И по окончании тех дней, они возвращались, Мальчик Иисус остался в Иерусалиме, а родители этого не заметили,When those days were over and they were returning home, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but His parents were unaware He had stayed.

44но думали, что Он находится с другими попутчиками. Прошли дневной путь и стали искать Его среди родственников и знакомых,Assuming He was in their company, they traveled on for a day before they began to look for Him among their relatives and friends.

45и, не найдя, вернулись в Иерусалим, ища Его.When they could not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for Him.

46И было, через три дня нашли Его в храме, сидящего посреди учителей, и слушающего их, и спрашивающего их.Finally, after three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

47И все слушавшие Его удивлялись разуму и Его ответам.And all who heard Him were astounded at His understanding and His answers.

48И увидев Его, удивились, и Его мать сказала Ему:“Дитя! Что такое сделал с нами? Вот, твой отец и я, мучаясь, искали Тебя”.When His parents saw Him, they were astonished. “Child, why have You done this to us?” His mother asked. “Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You.”

49И сказал им:“Зачем искали Меня? Не знали ли, что Я должен быть в том, что Моего Отца?”“Why were you looking for Me?” He asked. “Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”

50Но они не поняли слов, которые сказал им.But they did not understand the statement He was making to them.

51И пошёл с ними, и пришёл в Назарет, и был послушен им. А Его мать сохраняла все эти слова в своём сердце.Then He went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But His mother treasured up all these things in her heart.

52Иисус же преуспевал в премудрости, и возрасте, и в благоволении у Бога и людей.And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
