2. 2GLTв надежде вечной жизни, которую не лгущий Бог обещал прежде вечных времён,BSBBSB: in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began.
3. 3GLTа в своё время открыл Своё Слово в проповеди, которая была доверена мне по повелению нашего Спасителя, Бога,—BSBBSB: In His own time He has made His word evident in the proclamation entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.
4. 4GLTТиту, настоящему сыну по общей вере: благодать и мир от Бога Отца и Иисуса Христа, нашего Спасителя.BSBBSB: To Titus, my true child in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
5. 5GLTДля того оставил тебя на Крите, чтобы ты исправил недостающее и поставил по городам старейшин, как я тебе приказал:BSBBSB: The reason I left you in Crete was that you would set in order what was unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.
6. 6GLTесли есть кто непорочный, муж одной жены, имеющий верных детей, не обвиняемых в распутстве или непокорности.BSBBSB: An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, having children who are believers and who are not open to accusation of indiscretion or insubordination.
7. 7GLTПотому что епископ должен быть непорочный, как Божий управляющий: не дерзкий, не гневливый, не пьяница, не драчливый, не склонный к постыдной наживе,BSBBSB: As God’s steward, an overseer must be above reproach—not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not greedy for money.
8. 8GLTно гостеприимный, любящий добро, здравомыслящий, справедливый, благочестивый, владеющий собой,BSBBSB: Instead, he must be hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.
9. 9GLTдержащийся верного слова в соответствии с учением, чтобы был силён и наставлять в здравом учении, и обличать противоречащих.BSBBSB: He must hold firmly to the faithful word as it was taught, so that he can encourage others by sound teaching and refute those who contradict it.
10. 10GLTТак как есть много и непокорных, пустословов и обманщиков, особенно те, кто из обрезанных,BSBBSB: For many are rebellious and full of empty talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision,
11. 11GLTкоторым следует закрывать рот: они переворачивают целые семейства, уча, чему не нужно, ради постыдной наживы.BSBBSB: who must be silenced. For the sake of dishonorable gain, they undermine entire households and teach things they should not.
12. 12GLTКто- то из них, их собственных пророков сказал:“Критяне всегда лжецы, злые звери, ленивые животы”.BSBBSB: As one of their own prophets has said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”
13. 13GLTСвидетельство это является истиной. По этой причине обличай их строго, чтобы были здравы в вере,BSBBSB: This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sternly, so that they will be sound in the faith
14. 14GLTне внимая иудейским мифам и заповедям людей, отвернувшихся от истины.BSBBSB: and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of men who have rejected the truth.
15. 15GLTВсё чисто для чистых, а для осквернённых и неверующих нет ничего чистого, но осквернены и ум их, и совесть.BSBBSB: To the pure, all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Indeed, both their minds and their consciences are defiled.
16. 16GLTОни исповедуют, что знают Бога, а делами отрекаются, будучи мерзкими и непокорными, и не способными ни к какому доброму делу.BSBBSB: They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.
