1 ULB Откуда у вас войны и ссоры? не от страстных ли желаний ваших, воюющих внутри вас? BSB BSB: What causes conflicts and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from the passions at war within you?
2 ULB Желаете и не имеете, убиваете и завидуете, но не можете получить; ссоритесь и воюете. Не имеете, потому что не просите. BSB BSB: You crave what you do not have; you kill and covet, but are unable to obtain it. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask.
3 ULB Просите и не получаете, потому что просите не на добро, а чтобы употребить для ваших страстных желаний. BSB BSB: And when you do ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may squander it on your pleasures.
4 ULB Неверные люди! Не знаете ли, что дружба с миром- вражда против Бога? Итак, кто хочет быть другом миру, тот становится врагом Богу. BSB BSB: You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever chooses to be a friend of the world renders himself an enemy of God.
5 ULB Или вы думаете, что напрасно говорит Писание: «до ревности любит Дух, поселившийся в нас»? BSB BSB: Or do you think the Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to dwell in us yearns with envy?
6 ULB Даёт же большую благодать; поэтому и сказано: "Бог гордым противится, а смирённым дает благодать". BSB BSB: But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
7 ULB Итак, подчинитесь Богу, противостаньте дьаволу, и он убежит от вас. BSB BSB: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 ULB Приблизьтесь к Богу, и приблизится к вам; очистите руки, грешники, освятите сердца, двоедушные. BSB BSB: Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 ULB Сокрушайтесь, плачьте и рыдайте, пусть смех ваш обратится в плач, и радость- в печаль. BSB BSB: Grieve, mourn, and weep. Turn your laughter to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
10 ULB Смиритесь пред Господом, и возвысит вас. BSB BSB: Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.
11 ULB Не клевещите друг на друга, братья; кто клевещет на брата или судит брата, тот клевещет на Закон и судит Закон; а если ты судишь Закон, то ты не исполнитель Закона, а судья. BSB BSB: Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. And if you judge the law, you are not a practitioner of the law, but a judge of it.
12 ULB Один Законодатель и Судья, Который может и спасти и погубить; а ты кто, судящий другого? BSB BSB: There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
14 ULB вы, которые не знаете, что случится завтра: что такое ваша жизнь? Пар, появляющийся на короткое время, а потом исчезающий. BSB BSB: You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
15 ULB Вместо того, чтобы говорить: "если угодно будет Господу и живы будем, то сделаем то или другое" BSB BSB: Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.”
16 ULB вы же хвастаетесь из-за своей гордости: всякое такое хвастовство это зло. BSB BSB: As it is, you boast in your proud intentions. All such boasting is evil.
17 ULB Итак, кто знает как делать добро и не делает, тот грешит. BSB BSB: Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do, yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin.
