Prayer for the Son 2 RV even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that whatsoever thou hast given him, to them he should give eternal life. BSB BSB: For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him.
4 RV I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do. BSB BSB: I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do.
Prayer for the Disciples 6 RV I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word. BSB BSB: I have revealed Your name to those You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours; You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
7 RV Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee: BSB BSB: Now they know that everything You have given Me comes from You.
8 RV for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them , and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me. BSB BSB: For I have given them the words You gave Me, and they have received them. They knew with certainty that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me.
9 RV I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine: BSB BSB: I ask on their behalf. I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those You have given Me; for they are Yours.
10 RV and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them. BSB BSB: All I have is Yours, and all You have is Mine; and in them I have been glorified.
11 RV And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are . BSB BSB: I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one.
12 RV While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. BSB BSB: While I was with them, I protected and preserved them by Your name, the name You gave Me. Not one of them has been lost, except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.
13 RV But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. BSB BSB: But now I am coming to You; and I am saying these things while I am in the world, so that they may have My joy fulfilled within them.
14 RV I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. BSB BSB: I have given them Your word and the world has hated them. For they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
15 RV I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one . BSB BSB: I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.
16 RV They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. BSB BSB: They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
17 RV Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth. BSB BSB: Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.
18 RV As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world. BSB BSB: As You sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world.
19 RV And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. BSB BSB: For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth.
Prayer for All Believers 21 RV that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me. BSB BSB: that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
22 RV And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one; BSB BSB: I have given them the glory You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one—
23 RV I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me. BSB BSB: I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfectly united, so that the world may know that You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved Me.
24 RV Father, that which thou hast given me, I will that, where I am, they also may be with me; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. BSB BSB: Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
25 RV O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me; BSB BSB: Righteous Father, although the world has not known You, I know You, and they know that You sent Me.
26 RV and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them. BSB BSB: And I have made Your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love You have for Me may be in them, and I in them.”
