Better Is One Day in Your Courts (John 1:14–18)

2 RV My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out unto the living God. BSB BSB: My soul longs, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
3 RV Yea, the sparrow hath found her an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. BSB BSB: Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she places her young near Your altars, O LORD of Hosts, my King and my God.
4 RV Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah BSB BSB: How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah
5 RV Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the highways to Zion . BSB BSB: Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
6 RV Passing through the valley of Weeping they make it a place of springs; yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings. BSB BSB: As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; even the autumn rain covers it with pools.
7 RV They go from strength to strength, every one of them appeareth before God in Zion. BSB BSB: They go from strength to strength, until each appears before God in Zion.
8 RV O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah BSB BSB: O LORD God of Hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah
9 RV Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. BSB BSB: Take notice of our shield, O God, and look with favor on the face of Your anointed.
10 RV For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. BSB BSB: For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 RV For the LORD God is a sun and a shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. BSB BSB: For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.
12 RV O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. BSB BSB: O LORD of Hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!
