Genesis 7 (SHR)

1Nyakasane ashub’ibwîra Nûhu, erhi: «Jaga omu bwârho mwene omulala gwâwe gwoshi, bulya nabwîne oku oli mushinganyanya embere zâni muli elira iburha.Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.

2Oku ngasi bûko bwa nsimba ecîre, orhôlemwo mahali nda, akalume n’akakazi kâko; omu bûko bw’ensimba zihumânya orhôle ihasha liguma, akalume n’akakazi kâko.You are to take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate; a pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate;

3N’omu ngasi bûko bwa binyunyi bicîre, orhôle mahasha nda, akalume n’akakazi kâko, lyo obûko burhag’ihera en’igulu.and seven pairs of every kind of bird of the air, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of all the earth.

4Bulya enyuma lya nsiku nda, naniêsa enkuba en’igulu nsiku makumi anni na madufu makumi anni; en’igulu naholola ngasi cizîne najiraga».For seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living thing I have made.”

5Nûhu ajira ebi Nyakasane ali amurhegesire byoshi.And Noah did all that the LORD had commanded him.

6Nûhu aligwêrhe myâka magana ndarhu erhi ecihonzi ciyisha, go mîshi okw’igulu.Now Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters came upon the earth.

7Nûhu ajà omu bwârho haguma n’abagala na mukâge n’abâli-kazi, lyo bayâka amîshi g’ecihonzi.And Noah and his wife, with his sons and their wives, entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.

8Ensimba zicîre n’ezihumânya, ebinyunyi na ngasi binyafûka oku idaho byadaha omu bwârho bibiri bibiri,The clean and unclean animals, the birds, and everything that crawls along the ground

9akalume n’akakazi byoshi na Nûhu, nk’oku Nyakasane analirhegesire Nûhu.came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.

10Erhi ensiku nda zihika, amîshi g’ecihonzi gacihira oku idaho;And after seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth.

11omu mwâka gwa magana ndarhu g’akalamo ka Nûhu, omu omwêzi gwa kabiri, omu nsiku ikumi na nda z’omwêzi, lwo n’olwo lusiku, amaliba g’ekuzimu gafunûnuka n’enshalalo z’emalunga zahulula.In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

12Enkuba yania en’igulu nsiku makumi anni na madufu makumi anni.And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.

13Lwo n’olwo lusiku lyo Nûhu, boshi n’abagala Sem, Ham na Yafet, mukà Nûhu, abâli-kazi basharhu, bakà abagala:On that very day Noah entered the ark, along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and his wife, and the three wives of his sons—

14boshi n’ebizîne byoshi kushimbana n’obûko bwâbyo, ensimba kushimbana n’obûko bwâzo, ebiyandala oku idaho kushimbana n’obûko bwâbyo, ebibalala kushimbana n’obûko bwâbyo, ebinyunyi byoshi na ngasi hibalala, bàjaga omu bwârho.they and every kind of wild animal, livestock, crawling creature, bird, and winged creature.

15Bajà emunda Nûhu ali omu bwârho, babiri babiri ba ngasi ciyìsa omûka.They came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two of every creature with the breath of life.

16Abo bayishaga ndume n’enkazi ba ngasi bûko, bobadahîre nk’oku Nyamuzinda anabarhegekaga. Nyakasane ayîgala obwârho abahà omugongo.And they entered, the male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.

17Ecihonzi càba nsiku makumi anni, oku amîshi gayushûka n’obwârho bwasôkera enyanya z’igulu.For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and the waters rose and lifted the ark high above the earth.

18Oku amîshi galuga ganayushûka okw’igulu n’obwârho bwayerêra oku mîshi.So the waters continued to surge and rise greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.

19Amîshi gajà gayushûka kulusha oku nyanya z’igulu ganabwîka ngasi ntondo ndîrî zinaba ah’idako ly’amalunga.Finally, the waters completely prevailed upon the earth, so that all the high mountains under all the heavens were covered.

20Amîshi gabwîkaga entondo, garhaluka makoro ikumi n’arhanu.The waters rose and covered the mountaintops to a depth of fifteen cubits.

21Ngasi kazîne kaherêrekera: ebigera okw’idaho, ebinyunyi, ebishwêkwa, ensimba z’erubala, na ngasi bidûdûsa en’igulu na abantu boshi.And every living thing that moved upon the earth perished—birds, livestock, animals, every creature that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind.

22Kwo kuderha oku ngasi hyàli en’igulu hyàfa: ngasi biyîsa omûka emazûlu.Of all that was on dry land, everything that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.

23Ntyo kwo ebyàli en’igulu byoshi byàholokaga: haguma n’abantu, ebishwêkwa, ebinyafûka n’ebinyunyi by’emalunga; byoshi byahirigirha en’igulu ci hasigala Nûhu yêne na ngasi kali omu bwârho bonaye.And every living thing on the face of the earth was destroyed—man and livestock, crawling creatures and birds of the air; they were blotted out from the earth, and only Noah and those with him in the ark remained.

24Amîshi gayôrha gabwîkîre igulu nsiku igana na makumi arhanu.And the waters prevailed upon the earth for 150 days.
