Genesis 8 (SHR)

1Nyamuzinda akengêra Nûhu, ensimba n’ebishwêkwa byàli bo naye omu bwârho. Nyamuzinda ageza empûsi oku igulu, ntyo amîshi gajà gayonda.But God remembered Noah and all the animals and livestock that were with him in the ark. And God sent a wind over the earth, and the waters began to subside.

2Amaliba g’ekuzimu n’enshalalo z’emalunga byayigalwa; n’enkuba yayimanzibwa emalunga;The springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained.

3amîshi gajà gayonda bunyi bunyi, gagana erhi kugera nsiku igana na makumi arhanu.The waters receded steadily from the earth, and after 150 days the waters had gone down.

4Omu mwêzi gwa kali nda omu nsiku ikumi na nda z’omwêzi, obwârho bwadekerera oku ntondo Ararat.On the seventeenth day of the seventh month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

5Amîshi gajà gayonda gajà gayonda bunyi bunyi kuhika mwêzi gw’ikumi. Omu mwêzi gw’ikumi, olusiku lurhanzi lw’omwêzi orhurhwerhwe rhw’entondo rhwaboneka.And the waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

7Hungwe ahuluka ci akâjà eyi n’eyi alinda oku amîshi gakala okw’igulu.and sent out a raven. It kept flying back and forth until the waters had dried up from the earth.

8Lêro Nûhu ahulusa engûkù mpu alole erhi amîshi gakazire okw’idaho;Then Noah sent out a dove to see if the waters had receded from the surface of the ground.

9ci wangûkù erhi abona arhabwini aha ahira obulà bw’olushando, ashubira omu bwârho, bulya amîshi gaciri okw’igulu. Nûhu alambûla okuboko, ayigwârha anashub’iyidahya omu bwârho hôfi naye.But the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him in the ark, because the waters were still covering the surface of all the earth. So he reached out his hand and brought her back inside the ark.

10Alinda zindi nsiku nda, ashub’ihulusa engûkù omu bwârho,Noah waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.

11engûkù yamushubirakwo bijingo, abona ekola edwîrhe ehishami hy’omuzêtuni omu mulomo. Nûhu ayumva oku amîshi gaganyire okw’igulu.And behold, the dove returned to him in the evening with a freshly plucked olive leaf in her beak. So Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.

12Ashub’ilinda zindi nsiku nda, ashub’ilika engûkù egende: erhacigalukaga aha ali.And Noah waited seven more days and sent out the dove again, but this time she did not return to him.

13Omu mwâka gwa magana ndarhu na muguma y’akalamo ka Nûhu, omu mwêzi gwa burhanzi, omu lusiku lurhanzi ly’omwêzi, amîshi gali gamagana okw’igulu; Nûhu akula omufûniko gw’obwârho, abona oku obululi b’igulu bwakazirekwo amîshi.In Noah’s six hundred and first year, on the first day of the first month, the waters had dried up from the earth. So Noah removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.

14Omu mwêzi gwa kabiri, omu nsiku makumi abiri na nda igulu lyoshi lyakala.By the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was fully dry.

15Nyamuzinda arhegeka Nûhu, erhi:Then God said to Noah,

16«Huluka omu bwârho mwena mukâwe, bagala bâwe na bali-kazi bâwe haguma nâwe.“Come out of the ark, you and your wife, along with your sons and their wives.

17Ensimba za ngasi lubero muli mweshi, orhunyunyi, ebishwêkwa na ngasi biyandala binadûdûsa okw’igulu, obihuluse haguma nâwe, lyo bihasha okulumîra igulu, biyololoke biluge hoshi».Bring out all the living creatures that are with you—birds, livestock, and everything that crawls upon the ground—so that they can spread out over the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon it.”

18Nûhu ahuluka n’abagala, na mukâge, n’abâli-kazi.So Noah came out, along with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.

19Ebizîne byoshi na ngasi bishwêkwa n’orhunyunyi rhwoshi n’ebiyandala binadûdûsa oku igulu kushimbana n’obûko bwabyo, byahuluka omu bwârho.Every living creature, every creeping thing, and every bird—everything that moves upon the earth—came out of the ark, kind by kind.

20Go mango Nûhu ayubasirage oluhêrero lwa Nyakasane; arhôla ngasi bûko bwa nsimba ecîre na ngasi rhunyunyi rhucire, arhûla embâgwa z’okusingônola oku luhêrero.Then Noah built an altar to the LORD. And taking from every kind of clean animal and clean bird, he offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21Nyakasane abayiza hirya hibayo hinjà anacigerereza, erhi: «Ntakacihehêrera igulu bundi erhi muntu orhuma, bulya iralà lyâge libà liyêrekîre amabî kurhenga emuhimbo, ntakacishangula bundi ebizîne nk’oku nzind’ijira.When the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, He said in His heart, “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from his youth. And never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done.

22Oku igulu licihaba, okumîra/kurhwêra n’okusârûla, emboho n’idûrhu, ecanda n’empondo, obudufu n’omûshi, birhakacihusa kubaho».As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall never cease.”
