1. 1SPABLLAsí me lo mostró el Señor Yahvé: él estaba formando una plaga de langostas cuando comenzaba a brotar la segunda cosecha, la que sale después de la cosecha del rey.BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
2. 2SPABLLCuando las langostas terminaron de comerse toda la hierba de la tierra, yo dije: “Señor Yahvé, ¡perdónanos, por favor! ¿Cómo podrá sobrevivir Jacob? ¡Es tan pequeño!”.BSBBSB: And when the locusts had eaten every green plant in the land, I said, “Lord GOD, please forgive! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
3. 3SPABLLEntonces Yahvé se arrepintió de esto. “Eso no sucederá”, dijo Yahvé.BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen,” He said.
4. 4SPABLLEl Señor Yahvé me mostró lo siguiente: el Señor Yahvé mandaba un juicio con fuego; el fuego secó el gran océano y comenzó a devorar la tierra.BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: The Lord GOD was calling for judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and devoured the land.
5. 5SPABLLYo dije: “Señor Yahvé, ¡detente, por favor! ¿Cómo podrá sobrevivir Jacob? ¡Es tan pequeño!”.BSBBSB: Then I said, “Lord GOD, please stop! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
6. 6SPABLLY Yahvé se arrepintió de esto. “Esto tampoco sucederá”, dijo el Señor Yahvé.BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.
7. 7SPABLLLuego me mostró esto: el Señor estaba de pie junto a un muro construido a plomo, y tenía una plomada en la mano.BSBBSB: This is what He showed me: Behold, the Lord was standing by a wall true to plumb, with a plumb line in His hand.
8. 8SPABLLYahvé me preguntó: “¿Qué ves, Amós?”. Yo respondí: “Una plomada”. Entonces el Señor dijo: “Miren, voy a poner una plomada en medio de mi pueblo Israel; no volveré a pasar por alto sus pecados.BSBBSB: “Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them:
9. 9SPABLLLos lugares de culto de Isaac quedarán desiertos, los santuarios de Israel serán destruidos, y atacaré con espada a la familia de Jeroboam”.BSBBSB: The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with My sword.”
10. 10SPABLLEntonces Amasías, sacerdote de Betel, mandó a decirle a Jeroboam, rey de Israel: “Amós está conspirando contra ti en el corazón mismo de Israel. El país ya no aguanta más sus palabras.BSBBSB: Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words,
11. 11SPABLLPorque Amós anda diciendo: ‘Jeroboam morirá a espada, e Israel será llevado cautivo lejos de su tierra’”.BSBBSB: for this is what Amos has said: ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
12. 12SPABLLLuego Amasías le dijo a Amós: “¡Vete de aquí, vidente! Huye a la tierra de Judá; gánate allá la vida y profetiza allá.BSBBSB: And Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah; earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.
13. 13SPABLLPero no vuelvas a profetizar en Betel, porque este es el santuario del rey y el templo principal del reino”.BSBBSB: But never prophesy at Bethel again, because it is the sanctuary of the king and the temple of the kingdom.”
14. 14SPABLLAmós le respondió a Amasías: “Yo no soy profeta, ni hijo de profeta; soy pastor y también cultivo higos silvestres.BSBBSB: “I was not a prophet,” Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman and a tender of sycamore-fig trees.
15. 15SPABLLPero Yahvé me quitó de seguir al rebaño y me dijo: ‘Ve y profetiza a mi pueblo Israel’.BSBBSB: But the LORD took me from following the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
16. 16SPABLLAsí que ahora, escucha la palabra de Yahvé. Tú dices: ‘No profetices contra Israel, ni hables contra la familia de Isaac’.BSBBSB: Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac.’
17. 17SPABLLPor eso, así dice Yahvé: ‘Tu esposa se volverá una prostituta en la ciudad, tus hijos y tus hijas morirán a espada, tu tierra será medida y repartida entre otros, y tú mismo morirás en una tierra pagana. E Israel será llevado cautivo lejos de su tierra’”.BSBBSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
