Hosea 8 (SPABLL)

1“¡Ponte la trompeta en los labios! Un enemigo como águila se abalanza sobre la casa de Yahvé, porque han roto mi pacto y se han rebelado contra mi ley.Put the ram’s horn to your lips! An eagle looms over the house of the LORD, because the people have transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.

2Ellos me gritan: ‘¡Dios nuestro, nosotros en Israel te conocemos!’Israel cries out to Me, “O our God, we know You!”

3Pero Israel ha rechazado lo bueno, y el enemigo lo perseguirá.But Israel has rejected good; an enemy will pursue him.

4Nombraron reyes, pero sin contar conmigo. Escogieron líderes, pero sin mi aprobación. Con su plata y su oro se hicieron ídolos para su propia destrucción.They set up kings, but not by Me. They make princes, but without My approval. With their silver and gold they make themselves idols, to their own destruction.

5¡Arroja tu ídolo con forma de becerro, oh Samaria! Mi enojo arde contra ellos. ¿Cuánto tiempo pasará para que puedan ser puros?He has rejected your calf, O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of innocence?

6¡Pues ese ídolo es un invento de Israel! Un artesano lo hizo, así que no es Dios; en verdad, el becerro de Samaria será hecho pedazos.For this thing is from Israel—a craftsman made it, and it is not God. It will be broken to pieces, that calf of Samaria.

7Porque sembraron vientos, y cosecharán tempestades. El trigo no tiene espigas, y sus tallos no darán harina. Y si acaso llegan a darla, los extranjeros se la tragarán.For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. There is no standing grain; what sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it should produce, the foreigners would swallow it up.

8Israel ha sido devorado. Ahora están entre las naciones como un objeto sin valor.Israel is swallowed up! Now they are among the nations like a worthless vessel.

9Pues se fueron a Asiria, como un burro salvaje que anda solo. Efraín se ha comprado amantes.For they have gone up to Assyria like a wild donkey on its own. Ephraim has hired lovers.

10Pero aunque se hayan vendido entre las naciones, ahora yo los reuniré; y comenzarán a consumirse bajo la opresión del rey poderoso.Though they hire allies among the nations, I will now round them up, and they will begin to diminish under the oppression of the king of princes.

11Efraín ha construido muchos altares para pecar, y esos mismos altares le han servido para pecar.Though Ephraim multiplied the altars for sin, they became his altars for sinning.

12Aunque yo le escribiera todas las enseñanzas de mi ley, las verían como algo extraño.Though I wrote for them the great things of My law, they regarded them as something strange.

13Me ofrecen carne como sacrificio y se la comen, pero Yahvé no la acepta. Ahora él recordará su maldad y castigará sus pecados: ¡tendrán que regresar a Egipto!Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to Me, and though they eat the meat, the LORD does not accept them. Now He will remember their iniquity and punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.

14Porque Israel se olvidó de su Creador y construyó palacios, y Judá multiplicó sus ciudades amuralladas; pero yo enviaré un fuego sobre sus ciudades, que devorará sus fortalezas”.Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; Judah has multiplied its fortified cities. But I will send fire upon their cities, and it will consume their citadels.
