1அர்தசஷ்டா ராஜா அரசாளும் காலத்தில் பாபிலோனிலிருந்து என்னுடன் வந்த தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய வம்சங்களின் தலைவர்களும் அவர்கள் வம்ச அட்டவணைகளுமாவன:These are the family heads and genealogical records of those who returned with me from Babylon during the reign of King Artaxerxes:

2பினெகாசின் மகன்களில் கெர்சோம், இத்தாமாரின் மகன்களில் தானியேல், தாவீதின் மகன்களில் அத்தூஸ்,from the descendants of Phinehas, Gershom; from the descendants of Ithamar, Daniel; from the descendants of David, Hattush

3பாரோஷின் மகன்களில் ஒருவனான செக்கனியாவின் மகன்களில் சகரியாவும், அவனுடன் வம்ச அட்டவணையில் எழுதியிருக்கிற நூற்று ஐம்பது ஆண்மக்களும்,of the descendants of Shecaniah; from the descendants of Parosh, Zechariah, and with him were registered 150 men;

4பாகாத்மோவாபின் மகன்களில் செரகியாவின் மகனாகிய எலியோனாயும், அவனுடன் இருநூறு ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Pahath-Moab, Eliehoenai son of Zerahiah, and with him 200 men;

5செக்கனியாவின் மகன்களில் யகசியேலின் மகனும், அவனுடன் முந்நூறு ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Zattu, Shecaniah son of Jahaziel, and with him 300 men;

6ஆதினின் மகன்களில் யோனத்தானின் மகனாகிய ஏபேதும், அவனுடன் ஐம்பது ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Adin, Ebed son of Jonathan, and with him 50 men;

7ஏலாமின் மகன்களில் அதலியாவின் மகனாகிய எஷாயாவும், அவனுடன் எழுபது ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Elam, Jeshaiah son of Athaliah, and with him 70 men;

8செப்பதியாவின் மகன்களில் மிகவேலின் மகனாகிய செப்பதியாவும், அவனுடன் எண்பது ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Shephatiah, Zebadiah son of Michael, and with him 80 men;

9யோவாபின் மகன்களில் யெகியேலின் மகனாகிய ஒபதியாவும், அவனுடன் இருநூற்றுப் பதினெட்டு ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Joab, Obadiah son of Jehiel, and with him 218 men;

10செலோமித்தின் மகன்களில் யொசிபியாவின் மகனும், அவனுடன் நூற்று அறுபது ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Bani, Shelomith son of Josiphiah, and with him 160 men;

11பெயாயின் மகன்களில் பெயாயின் மகனாகிய சகரியாவும், அவனுடன் இருபத்தெட்டு ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Bebai, Zechariah son of Bebai, and with him 28 men;

12அஸ்காதின் மகன்களில் காத்தானின் மகனாகிய யோகனானும், அவனுடன் நூற்றுப்பத்து ஆண்மக்களும்,from the descendants of Azgad, Johanan son of Hakkatan, and with him 110 men;

13அதோனிகாமின் கடைசிப் புத்திரரான எலிபேலேத், ஏயெல், செமாயா என்னும் பெயர்களுள்ளவர்களும், அவர்களுடன் அறுபது ஆண்மக்களும்,from the later descendants of Adonikam, these were their names: Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, and with them 60 men;

14பிக்வாயின் மகன்களில் ஊத்தாயும், சபூதும், அவர்களுடன் எழுபது ஆண்மக்களுமே.and from the descendants of Bigvai, both Uthai and Zaccur, and with them 70 men.

15இவர்களை நான் அகாவாவுக்கு ஓடுகிற நதிக்கு அருகில் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோனேன்; அங்கே மூன்று நாட்கள் தங்கியிருந்தோம்; நான் மக்களையும் ஆசாரியர்களையும் பார்வையிடும்போது, லேவியின் புத்திரரில் ஒருவரையும் அங்கே காணவில்லை.Now I assembled these exiles at the canal that flows to Ahava, and we camped there three days. And when I searched among the people and priests, I found no Levites there.

16ஆகையால் நான் எலியேசர், அரியேல், செமாயா, எல்நாத்தான், யாரிப், எல்நாத்தான், நாத்தான், சகரியா, மிசுல்லாம் என்னும் தலைவரையும், யோயாரிப், எல்நாத்தான் என்னும் புத்திமான்களையும் அழைப்பித்து,Then I summoned the leaders: Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, as well as the teachers Joiarib and Elnathan.

17கசிப்பியா என்னும் இடத்திலிருக்கிற தலைவனாகிய இத்தோவிடத்திற்குச் செய்தி கொண்டுபோக அவர்களுக்குக் கற்பித்து, நமது தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துப் பணிவிடைக்காரர்களை எங்களிடத்திற்கு அழைத்துவரும்படி, அவர்கள் கசிப்பியா என்னும் இடத்திலிருக்கிற தங்கள் சகோதரனாகிய இத்தோவுக்கும், நிதனீமியர்களுக்கும் சொல்லவேண்டிய வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்லிக்கொடுத்தேன்.And I sent them to Iddo, the leader at Casiphia, with a message for him and his kinsmen, the temple servants at Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.

18அவர்கள் எங்கள்மேல் இருந்த எங்கள் தேவனுடைய தயையுள்ள கரத்தின்படியே, இஸ்ரவேலுக்குப் பிறந்த லேவியின் மகனாகிய மகேலியின் மகன்களில் புத்தியுள்ள மனிதனாகிய செரெபியாவும் அவனுடைய மகன்களும் சகோதரர்களுமான பதினெட்டுப்பேரையும்,And since the gracious hand of our God was upon us, they brought us Sherebiah—a man of insight from the descendants of Mahli son of Levi, the son of Israel—along with his sons and brothers, 18 men;

19மெராரியரின் மகன்களில் அஷபியாவும் அவனுடன் எஷாயாவும் அவனுடைய சகோதரர்களும் அவர்கள் மகன்களுமான இருபதுபேரையும்,also Hashabiah, together with Jeshaiah, from the descendants of Merari, and his brothers and their sons, 20 men.

20தாவீதும் பிரபுக்களும் லேவியர்களுக்குப் பணிவிடைக்காரர்களாக வைத்த நிதனீமியரில் இருநூற்று இருபதுபேரையும், எங்களிடத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் எல்லோருடைய பெயர்களும் குறிக்கப்பட்டன.They also brought 220 of the temple servants, all designated by name. David and the officials had appointed them to assist the Levites.

21அப்பொழுது நாங்கள் எங்கள் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக எங்களைத் தாழ்த்துகிறதற்கும், எங்களுக்காகவும் எங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்காகவும் எங்கள் அனைத்து பொருட்களுக்காகவும் செவ்வையான வழியைத் தேடுகிறதற்கும், நான் அங்கே அந்த அகாவா நதிக்கு அருகில் உபவாசத்தை அறிவித்தேன்.And there by the Ahava Canal I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask Him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions.

22வழியிலே சத்துருவை விலக்கி, எங்களுக்குத் துணைசெய்யும்படி, நான் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் சேவகரையும் குதிரைவீரர்களையும் கேட்க வெட்கப்பட்டிருந்தேன்; எங்கள் தேவனுடைய கரம் தம்மைத் தேடுகிற எல்லோர்மேலும் அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையாக இருக்கிறதென்றும், அவருடைய வல்லமையும் அவருடைய கோபமும் அவரைவிட்டு விலகுகிறவர்கள் எல்லோர்மேலும் இருக்கிறதென்றும், நாங்கள் ராஜாவுக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்தோம்.For I was ashamed to ask the king for an escort of soldiers and horsemen to protect us from our enemies on the road, since we had told him, “The hand of our God is gracious to all who seek Him, but His great anger is against all who forsake Him.”

23அப்படியே நாங்கள் உபவாசம்செய்து, எங்கள் தேவனிடத்திலே அதைத் தேடினோம்; எங்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டருளினார்.So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He granted our request.

24பின்பு நான் ஆசாரியர்களின் தலைவரிலே பன்னிரண்டுபேராகிய செரெபியாவையும், அஷ்பியாவையும், அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர்களிலே பத்துப்பேரையும் பிரித்தெடுத்து,Then I set apart twelve of the leading priests, together with Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brothers,

25ராஜாவும், அவருடைய ஆலோசனைக்காரர்களும், அவருடைய பிரபுக்களும், அங்கேயிருந்த அனைத்து இஸ்ரவேலரும், எங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துக்கென்று எடுத்துக்கொடுத்த காணிக்கையாகிய வெள்ளியையும், பொன்னையும், பொருட்களையும் அவர்களிடத்தில் எடைபோட்டுக் கொடுத்தேன்.and I weighed out to them the contribution of silver and gold and the articles that the king, his counselors, his leaders, and all the Israelites there had offered for the house of our God.

26அவர்கள் கையிலே நான் அறுநூற்று ஐம்பது தாலந்து வெள்ளியையும், நூறு தாலந்து நிறையான வெள்ளிப் பொருட்களையும், நூறு தாலந்து பொன்னையும்,I weighed out into their hands 650 talents of silver, articles of silver weighing 100 talents, 100 talents of gold,

27ஆயிரம் தங்கக்காசு பெறுமான இருபது பொற்கிண்ணங்களையும், பொன்னைப்போல எண்ணப்பட்ட பளபளப்பான இரண்டு நல்ல வெண்கலப் பாத்திரங்களையும் எடைபோட்டுக்கொடுத்து,20 gold bowls valued at 1,000 darics, and two articles of fine polished bronze, as precious as gold.

28அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமானவர்கள்; இந்தப் பொருட்களும், உங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு மனஉற்சாகமாகச் செலுத்தப்பட்ட இந்த வெள்ளியும், இந்தப் பொன்னும் பரிசுத்தமானவைகள்.Then I told them, “You are holy to the LORD, and these articles are holy. The silver and gold are a freewill offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers.

29நீங்கள் அதை எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் அறைகளில் ஆசாரியர்கள் லேவியருடைய பிரபுக்களுக்கும், இஸ்ரவேலுடைய வம்சத்தலைவர்களுக்கும் முன்பாக எடைபோட்டு ஒப்புவிக்குமட்டும் விழிப்பாயிருந்து, அதைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்றேன்.Guard them carefully until you weigh them out in the chambers of the house of the LORD in Jerusalem before the leading priests, Levites, and heads of the Israelite families.”

30அப்படியே அந்த ஆசாரியர்களும் லேவியர்களும், அந்த வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும் பொருட்களையும் எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற எங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகும்படிக்கு, எடைபோட்டுகொண்டார்கள்.So the priests and Levites took charge of the silver and gold and sacred articles that had been weighed out to be taken to the house of our God in Jerusalem.

31நாங்கள் எருசலேமுக்குப்போக, முதலாம் மாதம் பன்னிரண்டாம் தேதியிலே, அகாவா நதியைவிட்டுப் பயணம் புறப்பட்டோம்; எங்கள் தேவனுடைய கரம் எங்கள்மேலிருந்து, வழியிலே சத்துருவின் கைக்கும், பதிவிருக்கிறவர்களின் கைக்கும் எங்களைத் தப்புவித்தது.On the twelfth day of the first month we set out from the Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem, and the hand of our God was upon us to protect us from the hands of the enemies and bandits along the way.

32நாங்கள் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து, அங்கே மூன்றுநாட்கள் இருந்தபின்பு,So we arrived at Jerusalem and rested there for three days.

33நான்காம் நாளிலே அந்த வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் பொருட்களும், எங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தில் ஆசாரியனாகிய உரியாவின் மகன் மெரேமோத்தின் கையிலும், பினெகாசின் மகன் எலெயாசாரின் கையிலும், எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் இருந்த நிறையின்படியேயும் எடைபோட்டு, ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்டது; யெசுவாவின் மகன் யோசபாத்தும், பின்னூயின் மகன் நொவதியாவும் என்கிற லேவியர்களும் அவர்களுடன் இருந்தார்கள்.On the fourth day, in the house of our God, we weighed out the silver and gold and sacred articles into the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest. Eleazar son of Phinehas was with him, along with the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.

34அந்த நிறையெல்லாம் அக்காலத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டது.Everything was verified by number and weight, and the total weight was recorded at that time.

35சிறைப்பட்டு மீண்டவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளாக இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தினிமித்தம் பன்னிரண்டு காளைகளையும், தொண்ணூற்றாறு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும், எழுபத்தேழு ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், பாவநிவாரணத்துக்காகப் பன்னிரண்டு வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் பலியிட்டு, அவையெல்லாம் கர்த்தருக்கு சர்வாங்கதகனபலியாகச் செலுத்தினார்கள்.Then the exiles who had returned from captivity sacrificed burnt offerings to the God of Israel: 12 bulls for all Israel, 96 rams, 77 lambs, and a sin offering of 12 male goats. All this was a burnt offering to the LORD.

36பின்பு ராஜாவின் ஆணைகளை நதிக்கு இப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற ராஜாவின் தேசாதிபதிகளுக்கும் அதிகாரிகளுக்கும் ஒப்புவித்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் மக்களுக்கும் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கும் உதவியாக இருந்தார்கள்.They also delivered the king’s edicts to the royal satraps and governors of the region west of the Euphrates, who proceeded to assist the people and the house of God.
